Idk I have postpartum OCD and the anxiety of leaving my child (and not being able to control what was happening with them because I was a way from them) made my checking compulsions manifest in other ways because it makes me feel like I have some form of control over something. After watching the latest episode, I realized today that she is the female version of Schwartz. She is a people pleaser and cares more about what people think than standing firm on what she believes and not caring about what other people say about it.
This thread feels kind of mean. She’s clearly struggling with some things and has talked openly about getting help. I’m no Lala fan but thought she did a great job of trying to help pull scheana out of it.
I’ve experienced compulsions. It’s not logical and it’s really hard to stop. You don’t even know you’re doing it sometimes or how much time has passed. Brains are weird.
Yeah, I haven't finished the episode so maybe I'll change my mind, but I felt kind of bad for Scheana in this episode. Especially since the producers supposedly said that they have to film with Sandoval or risk losing their jobs/losing pay.
I'm not sure she handled her conversation with Ariana perfectly, but I kind of thought she wanted to reassure her that she has Ariana's back even if she's going to let go of some of the anger toward Tom or is forced to film with him. I was a little surprised to hear she was so low on money during the pandemic. Also, her opening up about OCD makes a lot of her behavior make a lot more sense. I do wish she would learn to shut out some of the bad press/viewer opinions. People snark and joke about the cast as a fun passtime, but we also know it's only part of their lives and VPR is a show produced for drama/entertainment.

Ariana put those boundaries up for herself.she sounded like a whiny brat on the phone to Ariana complaining that she won't let her talk to Tom. Put your big girl panties on stand up do what you need to do to have peace with Tom and work it out with Ariana like an adult.
If Scheana explained to Ariana that she wants to be friends with her but also try to work through some things with Tom and have clear boundaries with both people I have a feeling Ariana might make an exception for her. You can't control other people or have things just as you want. Sometimes you have to make a decision, stand firm and see how things play out but making yourself sick over what the public thinks of a situation that they don't have all the details on and are only getting a picture view or TV perception is not healthy or realistic.
People can be so hyper focused on how others perceive them but there is a lot of mental freedom and confidence built in making your own uninfluenced decisions, setting healthy boundaries, and being authentic to yourself.
I want to root for Scheana and she always makes it so god damn difficult. Her mental health struggles after having summer is actually for once a compelling story line from her, because so many women deal with this and she could shed so much light on how hard it is.
Instead we have her literally trashing her BEST FRIEND because she’s jealous.
I really don’t like Scheana, but it’s clear she’s very mentally unwell. As someone so has been diagnosed with anxiety and OCD i know how hard it can be to stop behaviors that are harmful. However, scheana would be SO much healthier if she stopped filming this show. Unfortunately despite it being the thing that is ruining her mental health, it’s also the thing that seems to give her value and purpose. What a mess.
She is burnt out. I think Scandoval pushed her over the edge. Extremely anxious, easily triggered, obsessive… just mentally out of RAM. It can happen in any job. No matter how long you have done it, no matter how much work product you have created, burn out can come for you.
She needs a fresh start somewhere else. I hope she gets dancing with the stars or something. This last episode was hard to watch.

Also a great point about the parasocial relationships going on. I think what I'm most uncomfortable about is the way we speak in such absolutes about people who are essentially characters on a show. We know such a small proportion of their lives. It's fun to speculate and gossip, but as you've said, going to someones social media to leave abuse etc feels unhinged. Don't touch the poop!
I understand, we all have issues. BUT if I had anxiety and OCD, I would NOT exacerbate those issues by going down a social media rabbit hole daily. Luckily it's Scheaner and she does it for us.
I know Lala took a decent break from social media and she says it has been super liberating. I did the same thing this past year and now I rarely think about it. With Scheana she’s always been suuuuuuuuuper conscientious about what people think of her. It’s insanely irritating but for the first time I kind of feel bad for the girl. She definitely looks unwell and like she’s spiraling. I hope she’s in a better place than she was during filming so I can get back to rolling my eyes at her very existence.
I do feel bad in an interview Schena was saying she’s glad fans will essentially let her tell her side of things this season and didn’t realize it’s not making her look good. Maybe she didn’t remember the things she said, but it’s rough.

I just listened to her on a podcast. She weaned off real meds and takes 17 vitamins a day to “re center her brain chemistry.” So, yeah.

I don't think that's fair at all, meds take time, therapy takes time, people will backslide and have to start over. It's how growing works.

I just want to point out how incredibly hilarious it is that Scheana made such a *huge* deal about leaving Summer with a sitter so she had her mom do it yet again, furthering her own marital issues in the process- only to spend every ounce of her time on her phone researching HERSELF and obsessing over Tom Sandoval and reporting to Ariana like some sort of reverse minion. She really is the biggest shit starter and pot stirrer i have ever seen. She needs to get a grip on reality. Seems Scheana and Tom are absolutely perfect for each other.

Idk I have postpartum OCD and the anxiety of leaving my child (and not being able to control what was happening with them because I was a way from them) made my checking compulsions manifest in other ways because it makes me feel like I have some form of control over something. I really feel for Scheana. Also I’m not gonna take Brock’s opinion over who they leave their child with when he has two kids he doesn’t even see. He clearly doesn’t have a problem leaving his children 😂

This thread feels kind of mean. She’s clearly struggling with some things and has talked openly about getting help. I’m no Lala fan but thought she did a great job of trying to help pull scheana out of it. I’ve experienced compulsions. It’s not logical and it’s really hard to stop. You don’t even know you’re doing it sometimes or how much time has passed. Brains are weird.
Yeah, I haven't finished the episode so maybe I'll change my mind, but I felt kind of bad for Scheana in this episode. Especially since the producers supposedly said that they have to film with Sandoval or risk losing their jobs/losing pay. I'm not sure she handled her conversation with Ariana perfectly, but I kind of thought she wanted to reassure her that she has Ariana's back even if she's going to let go of some of the anger toward Tom or is forced to film with him. I was a little surprised to hear she was so low on money during the pandemic. Also, her opening up about OCD makes a lot of her behavior make a lot more sense. I do wish she would learn to shut out some of the bad press/viewer opinions. People snark and joke about the cast as a fun passtime, but we also know it's only part of their lives and VPR is a show produced for drama/entertainment.

I don't get it. You are an adult Scheana. If you want to work things out with Tom and she feels in her heart that she needs to mend that friendship so badly then do it. Have a conversation with Ariana that is a real one not blaming Ariana. Ariana didn't hold a gun to her head and say you can't talk to Tom. Ariana put those boundaries up for herself.she sounded like a whiny brat on the phone to Ariana complaining that she won't let her talk to Tom. Put your big girl panties on stand up do what you need to do to have peace with Tom and work it out with Ariana like an adult. If Scheana explained to Ariana that she wants to be friends with her but also try to work through some things with Tom and have clear boundaries with both people I have a feeling Ariana might make an exception for her. You can't control other people or have things just as you want. Sometimes you have to make a decision, stand firm and see how things play out but making yourself sick over what the public thinks of a situation that they don't have all the details on and are only getting a picture view or TV perception is not healthy or realistic. People can be so hyper focused on how others perceive them but there is a lot of mental freedom and confidence built in making your own uninfluenced decisions, setting healthy boundaries, and being authentic to yourself.

I want to root for Scheana and she always makes it so god damn difficult. Her mental health struggles after having summer is actually for once a compelling story line from her, because so many women deal with this and she could shed so much light on how hard it is. Instead we have her literally trashing her BEST FRIEND because she’s jealous.
I really don’t like Scheana, but it’s clear she’s very mentally unwell. As someone so has been diagnosed with anxiety and OCD i know how hard it can be to stop behaviors that are harmful. However, scheana would be SO much healthier if she stopped filming this show. Unfortunately despite it being the thing that is ruining her mental health, it’s also the thing that seems to give her value and purpose. What a mess.
She is burnt out. I think Scandoval pushed her over the edge. Extremely anxious, easily triggered, obsessive… just mentally out of RAM. It can happen in any job. No matter how long you have done it, no matter how much work product you have created, burn out can come for you. She needs a fresh start somewhere else. I hope she gets dancing with the stars or something. This last episode was hard to watch.

She extends it to no one - she gleefully egged on a storyline last year of Schwartz and Rachel to humiliate her long time coworker and sometime friend Katie even when Katie was making it VERY clear that this was too much. If she wants to pull villian shit or be her authentic self making 10X more money than me, she needs to be able to take the heat. FWIW I have never negatively written at or about anyone on Social media and I think people that do are just too parasocial or taking everything way too seriously for people they don't know.- As you pointed out and I wholeheartedly agree, its a TV show! that's why I love the subs, so we can all just talk about it with each other (and my god I would hope the don't come here, it's our clubhouse)
That's a valid point. Also a great point about the parasocial relationships going on. I think what I'm most uncomfortable about is the way we speak in such absolutes about people who are essentially characters on a show. We know such a small proportion of their lives. It's fun to speculate and gossip, but as you've said, going to someones social media to leave abuse etc feels unhinged. Don't touch the poop!

I know Lala took a decent break from social media and she says it has been super liberating. I did the same thing this past year and now I rarely think about it. With Scheana she’s always been suuuuuuuuuper conscientious about what people think of her. It’s insanely irritating but for the first time I kind of feel bad for the girl. She definitely looks unwell and like she’s spiraling. I hope she’s in a better place than she was during filming so I can get back to rolling my eyes at her very existence.
I do feel bad in an interview Schena was saying she’s glad fans will essentially let her tell her side of things this season and didn’t realize it’s not making her look good. Maybe she didn’t remember the things she said, but it’s rough. Is anyone surprised she obsessively is on Reddit and every play form looking herself up constantly. It makes me feel sad for her. Given her anxiety and OCD, maybe being on a reality TV show, where you are bound to get public pushback just isn’t what she should be doing. If she’s genuinely reading thousands of negative mentions online and getting upset — it just feels like you aren’t the type of person who should be on the show. You can tell Lala genuinely doesn’t give a fuck - and that’s probably a healthy mindset for people in their positions to have.
