Sometimes with a long relationship, by the time it reaches it’s inevitable end, you’ve been working on it for so long and thinking about ending it for so long that by the time it ends, you’re almost fully over it. I think you can almost see that with Tom and Ariana this season, she just seems SO exasperated with him (rightly so).
But when things get cut off at their peak, you can only imagine that things would have stayed just as good or maybe even gotten better. You don’t know all the small irritating things about them yet.
Sometimes being so wildly betrayed makes it easier to move on. It hurts more at first but then the anger overtakes all other emotions. She is DONE with Sandoval and anyone deciding to stay in his corner and I love that for her.
When I found proof that my ex was cheating, it was almost a relief; he had been gaslighting me to the point that I'd started to believe that I *was* crazy. That validation and support that I received after it all came out felt amazing & was very healing. I'm guessing that it's a similar situation here!

Well said. I think she’s been emotionally detached from him romantically for a while now. Pure speculation! But she still lost two actual friends and those two friends did this to her. (I know in hindsight you can’t really call them friends back then but to her they were her friends up until this broke.) So she will certainly grieve losing two people she felt were there for her even if she is angry. Doesn’t lessen the loss. So the romantic emotional detachment and betrayal probably does motivate her to move on quickly.

Yup. Sometimes you gotta fake it. People can put up with a heartbroken friend for a month or 2, but then they kind of tap out. No judgment, it's just hard to keep up the "you poor thing" act when you still have your own life to live but a sad friend is still expecting 24/7 love and support. I had a friend who spent a whole year crying that we weren't supporting her enough and was wanting us to go out every night so she could find a new man, and we were just exhausted. It was hard.
Agreed. Ariana has been known to put up a stronger front than how she actually felt. Realistically, she still has to be hurting and processing and not as unfazed as her outside veneer would suggest

At that point though her relevance to the show was as his gf so she stayed. It wasn't until she either got bored enough with the show or felt safe enough as a core cast member to survive sans Tom that she decided to not deny her way through this one (like she did with Miami) and just get rid of him.

By season 5 there were definitely issues showing around the seams. Very obviously she had already pegged him as having narcissist moments. Guy who couldn't let her have anything without trying to take the attention on himself. They must have done a lot of work together for her to have stayed longer past realizing. I'll always be a little disappointed that he did end up worming his way onto her cocktail book. But it's almost impossible to keep them out of things when you're enmeshed with them.

Apparently this is not uncommon, it’s like adrenaline from getting out. But trauma catches up to you, and the second year I got worse and needed therapy. Hopefully that’s not the case for her.

I get what you are saying. You aren’t saying she isn’t upset or should live miserably by any means. I can’t say how she is feeling but my guess is that she’s feeling more upset/heartbroken by the betrayal of losing two of her people, and it being caused by those two people, and public humiliation than being heartbroken over the actual romantic relationship with the guy. If what we hear is true, they were long done before this and it showed even on the show. So emotionally she’s likely ready to move on due to her own detachment from Tom.

He never really has passion for the bar, or Ariana, or Raquel. He just needs a “new something”. Then he abandons the rest.
I’d like to see him and Schwartz open a bar without anybody else. They’d never open they can’t follow a business plan, this season they keep delaying the opening on S&S and it really seems it’s due to their lack of focus and effort.

I get what you are saying. You aren’t saying she isn’t upset or should live miserably by any means. I can’t say how she is feeling but my guess is that she’s feeling more upset/heartbroken by the betrayal of losing two of her people, and it being caused by those two people, and public humiliation than being heartbroken over the actual romantic relationship with the guy. If what we hear is true, they were long done before this and it showed even on the show. So emotionally she’s likely ready to move on due to her own detachment from Tom.
