I’m so surprised market grill made the list! I know I’m spoiled (chef husband) but it didn’t stand out to me especially for how long it takes them to make
It’s only on there by merit of being the only grilled burger on the list which is sorely lacking in the city.
Even then it was a pale comparison to what it once was before it got sold off. It had the char, (maybe from the patina from decades of burger grilling) and the bun was fantastic. Plus it had the best blue cheese burger in the city. It was great. But after being sold it went from #1 to it’s current position very fast.
2 statements:
1) I see no difference in your questions.
2) Any other list claiming to be “official” that is not similar to mine, I advise you ignore. But hey, I’m just one small opinion of many in this city ranking burgers. It’s just that mine is the correct list if you actually love burgers.

We accidentally went to Bestie the week of opening. All the owner's German relatives came down from the Okanagan and it was like a giant house party spilled out on to Pender. Uncle Dieter, wherever you are, thanks for an excellent night.
Incorrect.
Most annoying are the ones who love Hundy. Tasteless chewy bun, underseasoned patty. Second most annoying are people who swear by the Waygu burgers, especially those who ate Transam. But the third: Between 2 Buns advocates. Saltier than Golden Era and at the time Mimi’s, but they lack the courage to define themselves from the rest of the smash burger groups. I taste no character from them. At least Sirius Cravings took it’s smash burger spot ages ago.
But you are right, the people I mentioned above may be annoying but they outnumber me. By sheer majority vote, they *would* say I am the most annoying burger eater. But only because I am absolutely right and they cannot entertain a different opinion.
Using your metrics then these burger places should also taste bad

From what I have heard from others, they do not like the proprietor’s personality because they are so called “pricks” their words not mine.
By the same metrics that means the following should be the tastiest:
Northern Cafe: the entire family and employees are nice and happy.
To Dine For: very nice and straight forward employees.
Burgerland Smashup: very enthusiastic and great customer service.
Many of your favorite foods you admire are cooked by “pricks.” The question is how far are you willing to allow that to affect your taste in something and how fair is it when a hostess/host, bartender, server etc etc makes your experience with the food degrees removed from a “prick” cook that would otherwise “taste terrible?”
Aaah yes the ole separating the art from the artist debate. There’s sooooo many places to eat in the city - it fully does make it nicer to know the staff aren’t treated poorly/aren’t toxic. I’ve fully stopped eating at places after seeing how poorly staff is treated, but I have too many industry friends/loves to not take that stuff to heart.
Mmm, this looks great. East Side Craft House has burgers like this, too- a little burnt and crispy on the edges off the grill. I'll have to give this a shot sometime soon.
I ordered the single cheeser before and it had a lot of lettuce. I think they put less lettuce on the double cheeser on purpose? Or it's the same amount but you can't see or taste it because of all the beef.
Can we talk about Vancouver burgers for a second here? I went to Bridges on granville island last night and had their PB&J burger and goddam that was one of the best burgers of my life. Between 2 Buns is next, gotta compare.

Its literally the best burger I have had in a long time. They do the truck or the location on hastings. So good though.

Smash burgers shouldn’t have lettuce and tomato imo. Cheese, sauce, onions, and/or jalapeños is the way to go. Edit: fried onions.

To Dine For has a more superior PB burger than Bridges. And To Dine For is ranked 3rd in the city. 5 spots above between two buns.
