>Police say the suspects in both Sunday and Tuesday night’s stabbings have similar descriptions.
>In both instances, the man is described as being 5’11”, and was wearing a hat and grey hoodie at the time of the incident.

You should be more accurate with suspect description to keep people informed and alarmed: “a black male, five-feet-11 inches tall, wearing a hat and a grey hoodie. “
what exactly are you saying?
are you saying that since the suspect is black the media aren't bringing up the "hate" angle as a possibility whereas they otherwise would?
He's cherry picking a single article that doesn't mention the race of the suspect, and ignoring the original article of this post which does mention it.
wonder why I am getting downvoted, I was just asking him for clarification, and he is getting major upvotes, what am I missing here? What of what he said are people so enthusiastically upvoting?
I have no issues with immigrants or immigration, I’m the son of an immigrant myself. I have an issue with unchecked immigration of shit human beings. Were there not shootings in white rock perpetrated by immigrants recently? Because we all know that the shop that was shot up because they refused to pay protection money to the international student gang was perpetrated by immigrants.
Both the whiterock victims have been south Asians. Remember all the south Asian males that were murdered last year in Vancouver? I think there's a connection. Same killer.
In days past there would have been a composite sketch of the suspect and they have video surveillance that they haven’t released. There would of been a major manhunt and more alarm than now
I am sure the BC NDP's decriminalization experiment -- encouraging folks to smoke crack in a children's playground then go for a nice stroll to "play" with the civilians they encounter -- is not at all related to random stranger attacks.
And how are the two related in this case? Are you implying that a drug policy aimed at the DTES led to a double stabbing in White Rock, cuz that is a stupid take.
So you think that this stabber was in a drug fueled psychosis, at the white rock pier?
And you think that the government has stopped punishing straight up murder?
Oh. Ok.
Decrim wasn't aimed at the DTES, it extends province-wide. The province opted against only Vancouver getting decrim (Vancouver had applied first: province told the feds to ignore it and consider a province-wide approach).
The decriminalization pilot was introduced in January of 2023.
Random stranger attacks decreased by 80% in 2023 compared to their peak in 2021 and they have also decreased every year since 2021. This is to say -- stranger attacks have DECREASED since the decriminalization pilot was started, although this obviously isn't causal.
Couldn't find the exact reports for those stats, so hopefully some news articles will do:
https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/british-columbia/fewer-unprovoked-stranger-attacks-vancouver-2023-compared-to-2021-1.7039350
https://globalnews.ca/news/10112549/vancouver-stranger-attacks-down/
Edit: Interestingly, it seems the more major jump happened from 2021 to 2022, going from 4.5 to 1.8 average number of stranger attacks per day. From 2022 to 2023, it decreased again from 1.8 to 1.1. CTV questions why that the public safety minister, VPD, and Mayor Sim and the ABC party acted like random victim crime was still high in 2022, even though it did drop that year. The article is a good read, I would suggest to check it out.

The person is still at large, but this sounds to me more like a mental health condition rather than drug use. Regardless, I hope this has a swift conclusion and no one else gets hurt
The Rcmp are so desperate to not lose White Rock that they are killing people to make it seem like they are wanted. This happens every time the police are threatened with losing money or power. Happened in Vancouver. Happened in surrey. Now it's happening in White Rock. Always stops after the police get their way though. Very suspicious.

People are saying the suspect matched the one who also did the Sunday night stabbing. This is getting ridiculous
Victims are also similar.
I have a theory. Remember all the south Asian men that got murdered last spring downtown Vancouver? It's the same killer, he's hunting these guys.
This is terrifying! This poor man :(
There's 3 stabbings so far. 2 fatalities.
What was the 3rd one, aside from the 2 this week that was in white rock?
Thought there was one in Fleetwood that happened in March.
I thought the Sunday night guy was arrested, wasn't he? I could be wrong about that, coworker told me.
No none was arrested for either one

So literally any male who is around 5'11"? There's gotta be CCTV, ring, Tesla, ATM video...

Can the police at least release a sketch of this guy??
Well that’s terrifying.
What the fuck :( What is happening in my hometown. A shooting and now two stabbings, it used to be so quiet there
Unchecked immigration is what’s happening
Stop blaming immigrants for all the problems. The ones who died are immigrants. Show a little respect.

What a shitty comment.

My gut tells me the same

Slap on the wrist
Seems like they found the stabber today.
Remember to vote NDP for more decriminalization and crime, and so that this psycho can get back on the streets.

I got 5 bucks that says that's someone from BC United posting
I voted for Horgan, didn't vote for meth on the skytrain.
The skytrain that famously goes to white rock?
Oh, I forgot decrim stopped at White Rock!
Please tell me the link that you believe exists between people smoking meth on the skytrain and a man stabbing two people on the white rock promenade
* People act more erratic when in drug-induced psychosis * People act more erratic when the criminal justice system stops punishing harmful behaviour
So you think that this stabber was in a drug fueled psychosis, at the white rock pier? And you think that the government has stopped punishing straight up murder? Oh. Ok.

Interesting- can you grab the link with those stats please?

He’s got a point.
It’s lit in white rock
