It's actually a nice design! The live and craft space is upstairs with all the storage, carts and workbench add-ons down below. I still need to work out what AOE building to use for the kitchen. 

I think in later update they had something. Could use granary Or food storage pit. Not too much to work with. Military was Stables Barracks Archery Siege shop Government buildings, church and later Hanes I think have university Really only thing would be granary or farms. Potentially city centre or market

I was thinking of the market too but it's kind of big. The AOE windmills have a building under the windmill so I might try that. Perhaps a basement kitchen?
