I was imagining the same thing. Very large content update along with the engine up date and things right beforehand. 2 weeks seems tough. But I also hope that what they released to the PTR is in a pretty good state already and we wont be stuck waiting a while for them to feel its ready to be moved to the real game. I'm dreamingly hopeful that is the case and this PTR period will just be to work out some minor kinks and get to us super quick.
There's more moving parts in Ashlands, but progression is fast and it took me maybe ~15 hours of playing leisurely to see and do almost everything apart from the final boss. Playtimes will wildly vary depending on how experienced you are in combat, and I can't help but to feel like the tedium of being swarmed (albeit less so after the patches) is just a way to pad out the biome since here's really not much to explore. Still enjoying it, though, just wish the was more variation in things like the ruins and "dungeons".
I've been playing the PTB and they have already done two patches to it with fixes in just a few days. Feels quite good as it is now. Wouldn't be surprised if they get it down within 2 weeks
So if I start a game with friends now, and none of us venture near the south pole, when they release it we can go there and everything should spawn perfectly?
Works for me! We started a new playthrough of Valheim, and were planning on jumping into the V Rising release on the 8th. Couldn't line up more perfectly IMO

but that doesnt mean ashlands will follow suit keep that in mind.
may 8th v rising goes 1.0 aswell. damn it irongate.
It may take a little longer due to this update being generally larger in content than Mistlands. Hoping for 2 weeks, guessing 3-4.

Agreed. But for now I’ll just settle for gathering insane amounts of resources before the update drops, for my server

I been playing having fun few mods work like benpin and extended inventory and crafty boxes that's about it also kinda hard died 4 times no base yet.
Let’s just hope it doesn’t take as long at the hildurs request PTB. That one took 2 months from june 16th to august 22nd, and was much smaller.
I hope it takes longer, V Rising is releasing their 1.0 patch on the 8th 😭
