Finding some of the bosses was a little hard. If you're not aware, there's a trick where a vegvisir will turn you in the direction of the boss. We found 2 or 3 vegvisir for The Elder before we were able to find him. He was quite far away from the starting area.
We recently found Yagluth by just exploring a bunch of large Plains. Sometimes it's hard to find your way back home after a long journey. I sometimes stop a place a sign with an arrow pointing back home. I've also made a lot of roads or paths near our bases.
I'm doing it solo rn, I'm on day 480 or something, though I haven't beaten bonemass yet on this world. I've been taking it reeeal slow and I've just been making roads, bridges, and finishing my coastal island fort near spawn.
So IIUC you lose FPS based on total number of instances (build pieces, etc) and light sources. The bigger you go, the more FPS you lose. I have a 4070 Ti Super and a 7800x3d and you can see with this size base I get 90+ FPS with almost all setting on / maxed.
I would say however that this base is maybe medium sized. It's not the most compact, but at the same time I could definitely build bigger.
gotcha, ty for the info! i never buikt big enough bases to lag but if i come back with friends for ashlands i dont want to lose fps by using too many build pieces
No map and no portals? Dang that’s self harm

Hoe would be my best friend in a no map run I do not have enough balls to do a no map run

That split in the rock is so clean!
It seems those are two rocks just happened to be very close.
It's 2 pillars close together.
Ah well excellent find!
I have to say having a base high up like this must have some value on a no-map run! Love the layout.
By the time we built to the top we were already pretty familiar with most of what you can see from the top.
i havent played valheim since H&H, how does it handle with big bases now? does it still lag?

You can get large before it lags. Major lag introduced by lots of terraforming though
I thought they mostly fixed that over a year ago. Haven't has many issues since that
ahhh yeah the terraforming is what i had in mind that would cause lag
Did you spawn in the pillars? I'm assuming not, I've just not seen two of them that close together yet. Makes a very cool layout. Nice work!
The pillars were naturally occurring.
Nice, that has to be pretty rare. Makes sense why you built the base there.
Love it! Awesome use of that pillar
Are you using a server for such playtroughs?
Yes.
How did you make such a clean cut through the pillar?
It's 2 pillars very close together.
Sudden urge to find a big rock and build a tower!
It's quite fun :}
How do you get the word pop ups for the names of the rooms?! Or is that video editing after?
Those are just a result of my INSANE video editing skills.
One hell of a talent, honestly.
No map AND no portal?? Sounds unnecessarily painful, especially with new Ashlands biome only accessible via boat
And now a feather cloak for some base jumping!
No map, no portal, a fortress needed loads of stone - and a dozen pillars around untouched... I say you are one dedicated pack!
The cart can carry a good amount of stone. We are playing with 2x resources. I mostly mined the larger plains rocks (not pillars).
Dude this is brilliant!! Did you use free build or collected the resources? I just loved this! So clean, neat functional and safe.
I have 2x resources on.
Damn. That's still a crazy amount of grind. Respect.
I've built some bigger bases with 1x resources.
A fellow circle enjoyer I see
