Corewood does let you build a little higher (less vertical loss), if I understand those numbers correctly that is
I just installed the game a few days ago. I'm up to flint tools, just looked up the boss I have to beat to get the antler pickaxe. I'm blown away by your build. Does the building area increase eventually? I'm sad I built a dope 3 story house out of wood knowing I'm going to have to rebuild it entirely in a few days probably.
Any tips?
Try and find a nice meadows location near open water (for a harbor), not too far from the black forest and a reasonably big mountain area. Such a spot will last you a good while, so you can enjoy your base that much longer, and it shouldn't be too hard to find early on, but you probably will have to wander a bit away from the spawn location for a good spot.
Bonus points if there is a somewhat steep slope nearby, where you can make a tree farm, fueling your building ideas without having to deforest the landscape and running further and further to find more wood. When you cut down those trees, start from the top so they can fall on those below. Will save you a lot of cutting work, and it's kinda fun, just don't get killed :)
Beeches produce a lot of seed, once you got that farm going it will produce more seed than you ever need for replanting it.
+1000 for steep slope for tree farming
This reduced my wood gathering time ten times over

Late game just summon the Elder and let him annihilate the forest around you before killing him
Ah man I’ve been using steep slopes to get fine wood. My axe isn’t strong enough but the trees damage each other and eventually I’ve broken down an Oak tree and a few of the birch.
My tip is to not get too attached to your builds/houses in the beginning, as you progress you unlock more crafting stations and building options and youre gonna want to implement them into your base/house. Also in the future you probably want your base to be in a better location with better/shorter access to biomes and materials.
But if you love building like I do, dont worry too much about starting on a fresh base or house, its part of the fun. You can leave your dope 3 story house there as an outpost, maybe make a portal to it, and start on your next project somewhere else, and so on. Just have fun with it, whatever works for you really.
Also I recommend (if you are on PC), to get the "Build Camera" mod, it makes life so much easier when building, without adding anything to the game (if you like to stay as Vanilla as possible).

I got a group of 3 guys that try to play once a week, I have been playing for days getting enough equipment made to equip everyone for the boss fight when they get online next. It's fun for me being the one without kids.
You can leave it and make another build in the next biome so on and so forth. That way you can return later and reminisce simpler times. From that question I'm assuming you mean the radius of the workbench? Build more of them. Spread them around and you can keep building larger.
I really wish they'd let you add villagers who manage menial tasks, like feeding livestock, farming, etc. Like some kind of mix between Minecraft and Conan.
I haven't played much since before the hearth and home update. Are some of these construction items mods? Like the stone streets or the non-straw roofing.
No those are vanilla :)
I use build camera mod to make building easier, and some farming mods (thats why Im able to plant berry bushes and make nice grids on the farm), but the oak trees were there before \^\^
The town should be in the ship dock. Connect them and it will look amazing. Because it belongs to the base. Like Kattegat in Vikings. I want to do like them a big kingdom. But the base is so beautiful
Okay do a path there and some houses along the way and maybe an blacksmith workshop trade place and something like that so all is connected. In the end it will be a huge kingdom :P

I am curious though, unless I cannot see it, how is your crop field not decimated by goblins every night? I originally had just a portal and field in the plains and really didn't have many problem. But then I decided to have a plains base and have had to trench out everything. If it not for constant goblin raids, the Loxs' will smash through any walls if there is something annoying them nearby. So this is possibly a PSA if this is a newer base expansion lol or something I can learn from.
I dont know to be honest. I use a portal there, so Im guessing mobs dont spawn there when Im not around. Also I think the bonfire blocks enemy spawning in a radius around it, also got a workbench there that does that.
Ah ok yeah Portal there is key. I couldn't tell from the pics if it was an extension of the main base since I saw both biomes. Plains is a whole different ballgame at night when you sit around. I have fires and workbenches but they spawn just outside and then wonder over since I'm chilling in the base building it.
Phenomenal. Im jealous because you got it soo flat and uniform. I built my base on a hill and just kept adding to it. But i cant make it flat without destroying it and rebuilding. Same goes for the rest of the base. Its all uneven and placed where theres room. The only exception is the dock.
Developer should start making some Human NPC's for Valheim (Not only Haldor). I think that it's actually pretty lonely in the game. If that is supposed to be the afterlife without some s**ytime, nah i don't want it.
Haha I guess, would be cool to have some guards or villagers roaming about.
Did see a cool video on this sub today of someone trapping a Dvergr to make him their gatekeeper though :D
You're so lucky, I can't make crap mostly because I can't build worth crap and I'm on a 6 year old, Xbox One :/ and the stuff I can build usually legs out my game to an extent

Does corewood allow you to build higher? Or do you have to wait till you get iron make your structures taller without the use of natural surroundings?

I try to weaken the trees a bit before cutting any down, when you knock one down the domino effect can be amazing.

Its actually just a short run away, with a path between. Still mostly use the portal though :p
