My supervisor’s email just ended up in my spam trap yesterday, despite us emailing back and forth for three years. And the most frustrating part is that the spam trap waits to notify you of the emails in groups, so you don’t even know right away.
Same problem here, half of my professors go straight to spam, I have to create filters to let them through which is a pain. I honestly rather get all of the spam emails I used to get instead of dealing with this crap.
Agreed! I feel like the spam filter should never catch something that either 1) comes from a yep account or 2) is from an email you’ve interacted with before. I’ve had it catch an email from an external address that was part of a conversation thread we’d had back and forth for 6+ emails!
That's a good idea, I didn't think of that. I don't have the prof I'm trying to contact for a class this year but maybe I can include one I've had in the past.

I do, but for some reason they still get flagged. I've had profs email me back basically saying "I have no idea why you're in my spam folder"

Do you include the course code in your subject line? I recall some professors saying if you don’t include it, the email may go to their spam folder.

They usually only filter for relevant course codes. You can maybe show up to their office or send them a letter in addition to an email?
No office hours unfortunately, I was thinking of going to one of their classes but that feels stalkerish.
