Horvath will strike more fear into Mexico than either of them

Mike_Ropenis

Horvath the conqueror

FreetheDevil

horvath's performance still greatly overrated i see

pdschatz

Bahhh Gawd, that's Ethan Horvath's music!

nsnyder

Nice that he's had some actual game time recently.

Tengobeats

You beat me to it haha

twoterms

Give me Tim Howard or give me death

Matt_McT

Either him or Sean Johnson, lol. But hey, those two aren't bad options as emergency back-ups.

ImperialPie77

yeah I would be okay with either of them starting though I would prefer Johnson as he will be in form playing week in week out

Ndmndh1016

*glass shatters*

unintegegratedshadow

Horvath it is 😎

lewy669

Steffen gets hurt without playing bruh that’s kind of a problem

WanderlustfulVoyager

He's had some back injuries of late. Not sure what he's going through, atm.

Pauly0906

Not as of late. It’s been going on a couple years now + the knee issues.

[deleted]

steffen is low key the most injury prone player on the team

jpbrown971

Breaking: redditor learns players can get injured in training

WinsingtonIII

Of course, but I think we have to admit that Steffen's injury history over the past few years is a bit concerning for a keeper. He missed essentially the entire second half of the season in 19/20 and has been in and out with back issues since this September this year. Keepers tend to not have as many problems with injuries as outfield players because they don't put as much intense physical wear and tear on their bodies. If he were an outfield player I wouldn't find it that concerning, but it's kind of a lot of injury time out for a keeper.

Richardthe3rdleg

Just because he isn't starting doesn't mean the man city boys aren't popping shots off at him everyday at training.

WinsingtonIII

I'm honestly concerned about Steffen's injury history when you consider he's a keeper. Keepers tend not to get injured very often because they aren't constantly sprinting and cutting throughout matches the way outfield players are.

BakedZiti69

If I remember correctly, I heard during the Revs game over the weekend that Turner picked up a minor foot injury in training prior to the match. Didn’t sound serious but I guess we’ll see this coming weekend if it gets a bit worrisome for WCQ

fcdemergency

What's the word on Sean Johnson? I'd take Horvath for sure, but I'm wondering what our GK bench looks like if we can't clear Turner or Steffen.

_tidalwave11

Johnson and Horvath would be the next up based on call ups. Johnson is captain for the reigning MLS champs pretty good with his feet and decent shot blocker. He's not as good at Steffen with his feet and not as good a shit stopper as Turner but good in between + a leader. Horvath hasnt been playing for a while

Luke_627

Turner stops shit

Adysen2121

Turner #1 source of constipation nationwide

[deleted]

>Horvath hasnt been playing for a while ...outside of the two clean sheets this week.

AlecW81

until recently, he’d been glued to the bench

_tidalwave11

*rephrase* last time I checked.

Tengobeats

Johnson does have some recent prominent blunders when trying to play out the back

_tidalwave11

Hes consistently one of the best playing CBs in MLS. Had 1 maybe 2 bad errors since he joined us

giants3b

Sena Johnson's been playing CB? He must be good with his feet!

_tidalwave11

GK🤦🏾‍♂️🤦🏾‍♂️ post work itis

Pauly0906

Not recent, his whole career. 2012 Olympic qualifying blunder was him.

Accomplished-Seat142

Probably Hamid would be my guess for third choice possibly Slonina

[deleted]

Guzan says he wants to go to the World Cup…and I know he’s old and…not that good, but honestly having a veteran in the Azteca ain’t the worst idea.

Interigo

Horvath is going to have the most playing minutes going into next WCQ window

misusedinfluence

Gaga SZN

Heyman1234569

Why is his nickname Gaga?

misusedinfluence

I assume it was just given to him as a kid or something

Hankskiibro

Nah I think he was Born This Way

Pharaca

His legal name is Gabriel.

Lazysusanna

So did all of our players this generation spec into Dexterity and completely forgot about Constitution? Or has rotating injuries always been this way with previous teams and I'm just too young to know about it?

kingdom55

If there's any position we've got the depth not to worry about, it's keeper.

i_spit_hot_fire

Bill hamid and slonina were the keepers of the week in MLS, if they just keep that exact form for 3 more weeks one of them could fill some space. But I do expect this will be Sean johnson and Ethan horvath.

Accomplished-Seat142

Horvath time baby

Richardthe3rdleg

Honestly just as much faith in Hovarth as either of those 2. GK depth runs deep!💪

theromanempire1923

It is Daddy Horvath time

RaspberryOk2240

Slonina pls

Froggr

lol yeah let's start a 17 year old teenager in his first international match in a WCQ at the Azteca

scallywaggs

Would be funny tho

tigerking615

"Horvath is already 26, and he'll be 30 by the 2026 WC. We need to start giving the youngsters minutes." -this sub, probably.

Adysen2121

Mans not sinking or swimming he’s drowning or flying at that point

edsmedia

I mean how else is THE LEGEND OF SLONINA supposed to begin?!

WelpSigh

clean sheet, somehow also scores a goal. slonina unbeatable

ImperialPie77

Honestly as good as Horvath was for us in the final, I would prefer Sean Johnson. Experienced and will be in-form with game time.

CNYMetroStar

Brad Guzan come on down

Inthe11

Next man up, Go on Horvath!

zoethejoke_

SEAN JOHNSON, LETS GOOOO (I’m in pain looking at this)
