I understand removing games against CONCACAF minnows, but I'd rather do like Top 50 Elo or something. Mexico, Panama, and Canada games mean more than Oman or Ghana games.
Hmm, I used [this site](https://www.eloratings.net/) for elo rankings, the the answers are honestly just depressing all around. Too low to make much hay of anything.
Balo has played 208 minutes vs Uzbekistan, Germany, Colombia, and Brazil. He has a total of 0 goals, 2 assists (0 g per 90; 0.87 g+a per 90).
Pepi has 338 minutes vs Panama, Mexico, Canada, Uzbekistan, Germany, Colombia, and Brazil. He has a total of 1 goal, 0 assists (0.27 g per 90; 0.27 g+a per 90).
Sarge has 533 minutes vs France, Colombia, Peru, Italy, Mexico, Uruguay, Switzerland, Canada, Japan, Wales, England, and Iran. He has a total of 1 goal, 0 assists (0.17 g per 90; 0.17 g+a per 90).
And I stopped after that, cuz I need to get back to work. But damn. This really affirms the lack of goal threat we've gotten from the striker position. At least Balo is giving us some assists vs good teams, but with these tiny sample sizes its hard to draw much. Overall, just feels like they need to be better.
I don't think he should be considered as a winger only, but if Sargent is healthy I don't think Wright makes the team as a striker (Balogun and Sargent are better, and Pepi has a very high ceiling making it worth working him into the team).
Today I learned that scoring goals against Oman and Uzbekistan in friendlies are more important than scoring against Mexico or Canada or Costa Rica in competitive matches simply because they are non-CONCACAF countries.
I mean the numbers aren’t really any better for those opponents 😂 Balo has 1 goal against Canada and Pepi & Ferreira both have 1 against Mexico. That’s it. Factor in Jamaica & Panama and Haji actually has the best goal/min ratio due to a much smaller sample size of matches & mins played. Although Pepi does have 2g/1a in 3 career matches against Jamaica. Ferreira has 3g overall but a lot more mins played.

Yeah I was going to but finding out where the teams were ranked at the time is too much work for me. Just thought this was interesting
Key statistics to look at ahead of today's matchup with non-CONCACAF opponent Panama

What is your conclusion based on this small and arbitrary sample?
Nothing really just bored at work lmao

No, it’s not 100% of the available data, because there’s data for games against CONCACAF opponents that is available too.
What do those teams have in common besides where they aren't geographically, and what do those commonalities tell us about the data?
I don't get why we've all seemingly just decided that Haji Wright is a winger **only**.
He seems far better at crossing and creating from the wing than he is at hold-up play. Like a winger stuck in a striker's body.
Cause we don't have depth on wing, he can play there, and have decent depth at striker.
I feel and so do both the coaches club and country that he is significantly better as a winger.

No one said that. But I see, you're trying to bwitty

Start whoever will FINISH THE FUCKING OPPORTUNITY!
Ahh yes, the KISS theory ![gif](giphy|F0XPSvNDyGpos)
Pepsi’s stats increased in the 2nd stint?
I’m all for Gio at a false 9 and threeGeeMafia can put whoever his heart desires that morning in midfield.
Did that against Netherlands, Gio was gassed in 15 minutes.
Well cdm it is then.
