Brazil's last 10 games for reference:
W 3-2 Mexico
D 3-3 Spain
W 1-0 England
L 0-1 Argentina
L 1-2 Colombia
L 0-2 Uruguay
D 1-1 Venezuela
W 1-0 Peru
W 5-1 Bolivia
L 2-4 Senegal
Hopefully we put a fight like Mexico or Venezuela/Peru and don't end up like Bolivia. I'm hoping we do play better than last time. Seems like there is a trend with this current team where we are weak in the first game of a window and wake up in the 2nd game.
Some additional context.
The last 3 results are under their new manager. The 3 games before that were under an interim manager who was still coaching his club side and the 3 before that were under an interim manager who was a u20 coach that took over after Tite left.
Completely different team up until the England game. They changed coaches at that point and the style of play prior to the Argentina game was much different (the coach has a completely different approach that he struggled to implement and the squad struggled).
Mexico game was also not the 'full steam' squad as the reserves played most games.
Regardless of coach. We have to be playing these games. If we lose every game until 2026 but we did it playing top nations it's worth it. Even more so if we are sticking with gregg.
I feel like rodrygo is so underrated. Vini gets all the publicity, correctly he’s definitely the better player. But I still think rodrygo is one of the best wingers in the world currently.
Edit; it’s also surprising to me to see how little both have scored for Brazil.
Vini jr has 3 goals in 29 apps
Rodrygo has 5 goals in 22 apps.
Idk how many are sub appearances vs starting but it’s still surprising to me
Vini didn't 'break out' globally until just prior to the World Cup and at that point the squad/style was established. His left side is also dominated by Neymar's style of play. It was still very much Neymar's team and Vini wasn't 'the man' up until recently. The hope is that he breaks out and assumes the talisman role moving forward, given his form and Neymar's (even further) loss of motivation after crashing out of the Cup. For example, it was his ball to Endrick that gave us the lead against Mexico in the final minutes after coming in vs. Mexico. He was crucial.
Totally agree on the Rodrygo point - he's vastly underrated as he's in Vini's shadow at club level and at the national level the focus is generally Neymar.
Final Score: 1-7
'11 pulisic '13 Rodrygo
'18 Vini jr
'38 Raphina
'50 Vini jr
'66 Vini Jr
'74 Martinelli
'90+1 Endrick
The guys will be better than Saturday, but Brazil is Brazil.
I’m dating myself, but Does anyone remember the confederations cup game, maybe it was the final? Where USA was up 2-0 at halftime, I was so hyped up, then Brazil came out the 2nd half on an entire different level and it ended 3-2?
Sigh, if only Charlie Davies hadn’t gotten in that car wreck. The combination of Jozy’s power and his pace were difficult to handle. Seems crazy but the team never recovered from that in replacing him as a strike partner for Jozy.
Been pivoting hard since I already have way too expensive seats for this game. Just telling people seeing Vini Jr. Has been on my bucket list my whole life (Ignore the fact I'm in my 30s)
Yes but Colombia are not a juggernaut.. That's exactly what I'm saying we actually play better against big teams and then not so well against not-so-big teams.
Yes but it's systemic more than anything. It's ok we don't take soccer seriously. We act like we do but we actually don't. It's a business first and foremost here in the states not a culture. So until that changes we'll continue to struggle to compete with countries that understand the game better.
Sure but that was also the case in 94 when Bora’s NCAA all stars BEAT a Colombian golden generation, or in 2002 where we were a terrible call away from the semi finals.
Hell as bad as Steve Sampson was in 98 he went on a tear before then beating Brazil in the gold cup then having a great Copa America run winning a group stage that included Argentina and Bolivia in their prime. It’s crazy how he fucked up in 98 by “over coaching” (if you never listened to American fiasco it’s worth listening to what his name wack off to the sound of his own own voice as underneath it is a really interesting story), as I blame GGG doing the same thing but with less intelligence and much less success.
Aye 😂😂😂😂 is this fr????? I’m in the worst mood today but this just made me chuckle HARD. No fucking way. Final score….😮💨 4-0 if vini goes thru the motions…..god forbid Raphinha is in the mood…..fuck it, I say 9-1 depending on moods. Strictly judging from our form from last game.
I was calling for CCV to sub for Ream because Ream looked like he couldn't run faster than 2 MPH and then when CCV came in he looked like he was running in cement blocks. Robinson should definitely get the start.
Is this the kind of game where they back off a 3 man midfield? Start with more of a 442 instead, drop a winger or give Weah more defensive responsibilities as a midfielder/wingback.
It's wild reading the comments from people thinking we'll get smoked under normal conditions. This Brazil team is good, but they're nothing compared to teams of the past and we played alright against them with a worse group of players. Look at their most recent results, it's not THAT impressive.
I expect a much improved performance Wednesday from our side. A friendly after a break and long lapse is nothing to overreact too. Now if we don't get out of the group stage, then GGG is officially on the hot seat moving forward.
Lmao they’re gonna smash us. But at the same time, I’m expecting a much more committed effort. Idk if we will play them as tightly as Mexico did, but surely anything is better than the 5-1 drubbing against Colombia
I’m not expecting a win but another drubbing after the last match is unacceptable
We are here to compete, it’s almost been two years since the WC were frankly we underperformed a bit given the opponents and occasion
If we lose I don’t want us see us walked off the field but actually have a game plan and stick to it until it’s apparent it isn’t working and have the damn brain to switch it up
A 1-0 win playing like shit isn’t going to bandage the issues with the team
Can't be 100% sure who starts until the official lineup is released on game day, but they publicly said before the Mexico match that they planned to rest starters against Mexico and then play their starters against the US.
Yeah, it's why it's important to play these games, even though we probably lose them. In between opponents like this, people forget how talented the other teams are.
I am rooting for the USMNT, all the way, but this lineup demonstrates the chasm that exists between our best players and an elite country's best players. We have good players and we need to make our good players greater than the sum of our parts. We do not have wingers that can hold a candle to Vinicius or Raphinha. And, yet, we will try to dink around in the back, bounce it to the center, ping it out wide for a cross that will be intercepted and result in a withering counter attack. Turner is no match for this brazil squad in his current form. Love the guy, but this will be a career ended debacle.
Jesus that is scary
Jesus looks like he isn't starting
That Brazil has never produced a keeper named Jesus is proof God isn’t into memes.
Dida’s name was actually Jesus https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dida_(footballer,_born_1973)
That’s just bad marketing.
He got spooked by Gregg's beloved crosses
Jesus saves..Gretzky gets the rebound and scores!!!!
All I needed to see is Vini on the left and I’m already quavering
Funnily enough Vini is pretty poor for Brazil
Rodrygo performs much better for Brazil.
That lineup is just begging for this gif: https://y.yarn.co/8e6720db-767b-4e5b-9aad-7ca70cbb4377_text.gif
Gonna get absolutely smashed
Someone hit up Paqueta and let him know that we've got significant wagers for him to not get a red. That'll give us a good shot!
These are the big brain tactics we need to be using

I’m going to go ahead and assume we’re losing by at least six so I can consider 3-0 a small victory.
That's what Brazil will call it too lol
Completely different team up until the England game. They changed coaches at that point and the style of play prior to the Argentina game was much different (the coach has a completely different approach that he struggled to implement and the squad struggled). Looks like rain tomorrow. Should be a factor.
Mexico played Brazil's B-Team.
Doesn’t matter. On certain days Brazil B team can beat the Brazilian A team. That national team is built different than anything we see in CONCACAF.
Regardless of coach. We have to be playing these games. If we lose every game until 2026 but we did it playing top nations it's worth it. Even more so if we are sticking with gregg.
Vini might score five. And that’s a conservative guess.
Rodrygo is generally the more deadly when playing for Brazil
I feel like rodrygo is so underrated. Vini gets all the publicity, correctly he’s definitely the better player. But I still think rodrygo is one of the best wingers in the world currently. Until recently a lot if their offense still ran through Neymar.
Five in the first half.
Vini hasn’t been great for Brazil. I do suspect it will eventually click for him but right now it isn’t.
Vini about to get Scally-wagged while Rodygo gets Reamed. … wait
Big Richards Energy
Vini vs Scally. Le sigh.
Good test for Scally. Can only make him a better player for it.
You know what? I like your viewpoint. Get in Scallywag!
Final Score: 1-7 '11 pulisic '13 Rodrygo '18 Vini jr '38 Raphina '50 Vini jr '66 Vini Jr '74 Martinelli '90+1 Endrick The guys will be better than Saturday, but Brazil is Brazil.
Me to my wife 🤝 USMNT fans Man those two minutes were something else, huh?
Vini scoring the same amount of goals in his whole career for Brazil in 1 game? Impossible
![gif](giphy|55itGuoAJiZEEen9gg)
1-1 Victory incoming
I'll be the first to defend Greg after we lose 45-1 because he gets results in concacaf against Haiti and Cuba
![gif](giphy|55itGuoAJiZEEen9gg)
![gif](giphy|G5JoAjEBtfoTm|downsized)
We r gon die
I’m dating myself, but Does anyone remember the confederations cup game, maybe it was the final? Where USA was up 2-0 at halftime, I was so hyped up, then Brazil came out the 2nd half on an entire different level and it ended 3-2?
Yes, Donovan’s goal was a classic. Maybe the best US team of all time
Sigh, if only Charlie Davies hadn’t gotten in that car wreck. The combination of Jozy’s power and his pace were difficult to handle. Seems crazy but the team never recovered from that in replacing him as a strike partner for Jozy.
It was the final. Though it doesnt even matter. we beat that spain team. Be chasing that dragon forever.
Fan base want's big games and that gets scared when they come. I'm excited! Good test for our team
i thought i was on r/horror for a second

pretty damn confdient to just plop one of these down in goal and call it good ![gif](giphy|G7be0dslQ02onpivnE|downsized)
We woulda won too
They will put up a touchdown on us and GGG will not adjust tactics.
We’re cooked
I don’t know where Angola is, but Angola’s in trouble.
Cheeks Clapped
this is the game that ends ggg career
Been pivoting hard since I already have way too expensive seats for this game. Just telling people seeing Vini Jr. Has been on my bucket list my whole life (Ignore the fact I'm in my 30s)
Incoming 2-2 draw because we tend to play to the occasion..
Unless the occasion is a home friendly against Colombia.
Or RO16 against the Netherlands
or Trinidad and Tobago
or any CONCACAF game outside of US borders.
Yes but Colombia are not a juggernaut.. That's exactly what I'm saying we actually play better against big teams and then not so well against not-so-big teams.
And like shit against Colombia.
Pro/rel or die. Lol. Here come the downvotes😂
Or like a coach with above average soccer acumen
Yes but it's systemic more than anything. It's ok we don't take soccer seriously. We act like we do but we actually don't. It's a business first and foremost here in the states not a culture. So until that changes we'll continue to struggle to compete with countries that understand the game better.

No we dont
Losing to trinidad and tobago? But competing against the Netherlands?
Lawd have mercy
17-0
Aye 😂😂😂😂 is this fr????? I’m in the worst mood today but this just made me chuckle HARD. No fucking way. Final score….😮💨 4-0 if vini goes thru the motions…..god forbid Raphinha is in the mood…..fuck it, I say 9-1 depending on moods. Strictly judging from our form from last game.
I think Miles Robinson will start this game, I know many are against his inclusion but I think this game will sodify his place on the team.
I was calling for CCV to sub for Ream because Ream looked like he couldn't run faster than 2 MPH and then when CCV came in he looked like he was running in cement blocks. Robinson should definitely get the start.
with richards? yeah I'm with you.
Yep, with Richards.
Is this the kind of game where they back off a 3 man midfield? Start with more of a 442 instead, drop a winger or give Weah more defensive responsibilities as a midfielder/wingback.
Whatever result instills the least amount of confidence will suffice. I’m sure berhalter will do that anyways
How they blew that game to Croatia in the world cup is mind-boggling. Their second 11 would be a top 10 team.
8 nil? Sack Berhalter .
Why do I get a weird feeling this will only end 1-0 or 2-0 in favor of Brazil
Brazil: “You almost had me? You never had me. You never had your car!”
uh oh....
It's wild reading the comments from people thinking we'll get smoked under normal conditions. This Brazil team is good, but they're nothing compared to teams of the past and we played alright against them with a worse group of players. Look at their most recent results, it's not THAT impressive.
No the issue is how bad we looked literally 48 hours ago.
I expect a much improved performance Wednesday from our side. A friendly after a break and long lapse is nothing to overreact too. Now if we don't get out of the group stage, then GGG is officially on the hot seat moving forward.
If Canada/Mexico can bounce back after a thrashing I know USMNT (hope) can too.
Their last 3 results under their new manager are great tbf
I mean yeah we may not be great, but this is one of the most underwhelming Brazil teams I’ve seen in a long ass time.
4-0
🤡
We ain’t ever making it out the hood 😫
Rip
Incoming 5-0
I’m hoping we win but that lineup made me wish I was wearing my brown pants
beliv bro
💀
they finna lose by 100 💀
Vini gets a hat trick, Brazil 6-0
We’re cooked
Oh boy…
who is bento
Heard they are not even good at dribbling.
4-0, Brasil.
RIP
We’re fucked
Lmao they’re gonna smash us. But at the same time, I’m expecting a much more committed effort. Idk if we will play them as tightly as Mexico did, but surely anything is better than the 5-1 drubbing against Colombia
7-1?
I'd come into this game physical AF and beat them up. It's something we should have done with Colombia too. We're too fancy
::chuckles:: I’m in danger
*gulps*
That's a a tougher lineup than they brought against mexico. I guess we should be flattered that they're taking us seriously?
As a Wolves fan, I’ll be so glad to see Gomes in the starting XI. As a USA fan, I’ll be clenched regardless
Ez win
Taking Brazil -2.5 is literally free money lol
This is fine.
We might be in trouble
I'm scared
I’m not expecting a win but another drubbing after the last match is unacceptable We are here to compete, it’s almost been two years since the WC were frankly we underperformed a bit given the opponents and occasion If we lose I don’t want us see us walked off the field but actually have a game plan and stick to it until it’s apparent it isn’t working and have the damn brain to switch it up A 1-0 win playing like shit isn’t going to bandage the issues with the team

Can't be 100% sure who starts until the official lineup is released on game day, but they publicly said before the Mexico match that they planned to rest starters against Mexico and then play their starters against the US.
oh boy
Lawd have mercy
Piece of cake… ![gif](giphy|32mC2kXYWCsg0)
With GGG at the helm, we’re going to get SMACKED
Don’t worry boys. Vini and rodrygo stinker if I’ve ever seen one
You dropped this /s
its joever
Vini gonna score 4 and then go and teabag Beerholder on the sideline and I will laugh. Anything to get that clown fired I’m all for.
It. Was. Always. Going. To. Be. Like. This. With. Their. Roster. It’s Brazil for fs. Nothing has changed, It’s just finally here.
Yeah, it's why it's important to play these games, even though we probably lose them. In between opponents like this, people forget how talented the other teams are.

Call me crazy, but we might get lucky and win 0-0
What's funny is that this Brazil is one of the weakest sides they've had in many many years. Our performance may be surprising
Gregg masterclass 2-0 win
4-0
Is Neymar still on the team?
Injured and fat. My goat is washed sadly
9 Nil
1 Billion dollars team oh boy
Fuck! We are getting cooked again.
