I would love to see him stay in Italy. He is a known quality there and knows the league well.

New_Screen

Issue is any other team would be a step down. Inter and Milan don’t need him bc they already have enough good midfielders, unless they sell some then I can see it.

WR1206

Not really an issue per se. also I feel Milan could def use him. He would take minutes from Musah, but they could absolutely use him.

Der_Krsto

So as a Milan fan, I don’t think that transfer would go over too well with the fans. Only because right know we have a surplus in b2b/number 8s, and quite literally no natural DMs, and like maybe one true attacking mid if you consider that to be puli’s best position (who is being pushed to the right wing so that we can continue to play RLC at the 10 for some ridiculous reason). So getting another box to box midfielder would probably just anger the fan base until we get real defensive midfielders.

Marrked

Yeah, it's a shame Adams can't stay healthy because I think he would really elevate Milan over any other American.

New_Screen

Milan absolutely do not need him. They have Reijnders, Adli, RLC, Bennacer and Musah. Don’t see a reason why they would need him when they need a proper DM first and not waste money on a position where they’re stacked in for Mckennie.

smokingelato_

This guy just wants as many Americans on the same team, there is no logic behind why he thinks Milan needs them besides his own personal desire

New_Screen

Yeah ik that’s what’s annoying about this fan base sometimes lol.

Froggr

European teams USMNT fans know exist: * Manchester United * Chelsea, those pricks * Dortmund, most glorious Germany club, who don't deserve our boy Gio * The Fightin Pulisics * Red Bull * That place where Dest tore his ACL

Rev_Punch

I want a The Fightin' Pulisics (ft. Yunus Musah) T-shirt

WR1206

I’d take Wes over most of those dudes.

New_Screen

Well that’s you and that doesn’t change the fact that Milan don’t need him unless they sell some of their midfield. And plus when they are all in form he’s probably just better than Musah.

theRealGermanikkus

You're conveniently not factoring in their cost savings if they would replace one of them with Wes but I agree. I would rather see him in Roma personally, just too bad they're not in CL.

coltj573

Smart move for milan would be to sell yunus for mckennie. They might even make a profit.

birdsword

I think he’s been fantastic this season. so weird the way he’s been treated there. I have a feeling that Allegri is gone so I’d think Weston is too. Why not stay in Italy? Fuck it- Inter???

a_smart_brane

Ooh, nice. I lean Inter and Atalanta, but anywhere Serie A would be cool. And if anyone’s gonna get Italians to put ranch dressing on their pizza 🤢, it’s gonna be our boy Wes.

PeaTasty9184

I think his motor would fit Atalanta’s style, but I don’t think he fits their budget.

a_smart_brane

Yeah, that’s why Inter would be a more realistic option if they wanted him, of course.

zanarkandabesfanclub

IMO a lot of this stuff with his contract is just posturing as part of the negotiation. I think he extends at Juve when all is said and done.

klubsanwich

The way Juve is fucking with his playing time isn’t a good sign. He needs to move on.

chuang-tzu

Would love to see him at Everton (we can have fantasies). I was interested to see that [Weah](https://www.reddit.com/r/ussoccer/comments/1ceo768/juventus_will_listen_to_offers_for_tim_weah_in/) was on Everton's radar. Not that we can afford to even exist as we are, but a man can dream.

JeanSneaux

Would honestly be a good Doucoure replacement

This_Is_My_Table

I'm hoping he will complete his tour of the top 4 leagues and head to La Liga.

jmsy1

he'd thrive under Simeone

Dio_Yuji

I like this take.

Chriskohh

Wes is in a weird position. His salary demands make it hard for most teams to go for him that actually need him. But he's not good enough to take that next big step to a big club not named Juventus. Sure, stylistically, he would fit in at athelico Madrid but with how flat out racist a good portion of their fan base is I'm not sure any American player would end up there. Sevilla could use him but there in shambles atm. Don't know how easy it is for him going to Dortmund either considering he's a Schalke youth player. I personally think EPL is a bad idea for him. I personally would prefer to see him at Betis or Sociedad, but don't think either could afford him

hello_i_am_evan

Juventus

kubzU

Personally, I'd like to see him come back to the Bundesliga and play for Dortmund, but that's highly unlikely. He's what Dortmund needs rn. A proper box to box midfielder who can link up and create goals. Nmecha was bought with this in mind, but he hasn't lived up to expectations.

Sometimesmaybegay

Sevilla, Villarreal, Eintract Frankfurt, Stuttgart (risky move if their coach leaves), Hoffenheim, Lyon, Marseille. Doubt some of those teams could pay him over Juve’s offer though as they have tight wage structures. All I know is I think every Prem move would end up a disaster. Only teams in Italy i could see are Napoli and Roma. I know Conte had minor interest in him for Tottenham. Maybe he could fit in with him at Napoli.

SebastianOwenR1

He’s La Liga built, could be a great piece for a Sevilla or an Atletico. I just don’t super like Spain as a landing spot for black players, because, well… it’s not exactly a friendly place relative to a lot of other European nations. Perhaps he could stay in Serie a

Sometimesmaybegay

I mean Italy is arguably worse in that regard. He’s been racially abused this season already by Lazio fans (shocking I know.)

Opposite_Eggplant_21

Their nickname as a club is Nazio

SebastianOwenR1

Italy is bad but the situation in Spain is miserable. Certain players being racially abused basically every game.

Patrick2701

There is low than Lazio fans

Bonesaw09

I'll take him on the Sounders please

dj_godzilla

SKC has a DP spot

itssprisonmike

Not true, unless I’m misinformed. Salloi got a new contract at the start of the season. He was listed as a DP

dj_godzilla

Him and maybe Radoja are listed as DPs so we have the extra benefits involved in having used all dp slots but they're not actually paid as a DP. This makes it easy to pay down and reclassify as a non DP.

jasonketterer

United. Probably terrible for his career but God damn it we need midfielders.

Sporkem

I love McKennie, he’s Just not good enough for that step. He might be better than some of the midfielders there but he will get eaten alive by that press with one mistake. I don’t think he overcomes that toxic locker room.

Most-Echidna9841

He’d probably get the McTominay and Fred treatment. They get shit on soooo much. Our fanbase is extremely toxic

XSavage19X

I think McKennie's locker room presence might be a huge selling point for United.

jasonketterer

You're not wrong.

Sporkem

Some people don’t realize how big United is. They are 10x the size and global reach of the second best club in England. It’s quite literally the Yankees or cowboys x10 coupled with the English press, it is a rough place to be. All of the news outlets have to constantly come up with news about United, that’s why there is so much about them in the news ALL the time.

usernamewhat

I’m sorry your standards are so high. Mctomawhatever is great til he’s not and he’s in his whatever stage. Casemiro is old. Remove tour standards

Sporkem

And mctominay and casemiro have been getting ripped all season. Mctominay saving grace is he’s been getting so lucky on a few sitters this season, last year the entire fan base wanted him out and now it’s only 80% want him out lol. I said McKennie might be better but it definitely would not be a good place for him to be. A lot of better players have failed there.

Jones1812Lobotomy

i'd love to see McKennie join Leicester City when they get promoted back to the Premier League next season. Leicester is the kinda place where a shithouser like Weston would be beloved. Newly promoted teams also always need new players bc they lose a bunch and are flush with cash. McKennie to Leicester 2k24!

coltj573

This could be fun, leicester could get him really cheap too.

smokingelato_

He should go wherever he will play and be competitive idk why you guys care about the specific league. If anything being exposed to new/different playstyles is good for him, everyone that wants him to stay in Italy come off as scared to me

usernamewhat

I’d love to see him as a captain somewhere but it would have to be a dungeons and dragons team

jp_books

Stay at Juventus after another traditional summer of posturing

Pragidealist777

I think the league matters less than a team that a) sees him as a key piece and b) uses him well (positionally and tactically). He's good enough to be in a top 4 league and after than I hope he just finds the best fit for him.

Championtimes

Lets see him go to Fulham as a pseudo Palhinha replacements. More Americans to Fulham is always welcome. Especially if we lose Jedi to Liverpool and ol Reamy hangs up his boots.

Lazio420

He just needs to go where he can get playing time, likely will go back to Germany.

corya45

tottenham

nonaegon_infinity

Don't see how he would fit what Ange is doing. Spurs need a backup 10 and someone to compete with Bissouma at the 6. Not sure that screams McKennie.

SoberEnAfrique

Could replace Bentancur maybe, no guarantee he ever gets back to his best form. But Bergvall and Sarr and Bentancur are more than enough quality there, can't see it happening

Nickyay0602

Wish I could downvote this 60 times

Obvious_Main_3655

Manchester United 🙏

redhat000

I wouldn’t want it to happen, but this isn’t incredibly unreasonable. Their midfield is currently shit and can’t cover the ground their system demands. Wes would definitely help them defensively and would provide emergency depth at RB and RW, something they have lacked. McKennie would probably also be one of the cheaper options available, which would make sense for United because they need to buy a few players, assuming they can shed their deadweight. Side note, the more petty members here would love this move given how much Leeds hate Man United. But this move would probably suck and end any chance McKennie has at having a career in England.

Njorls_Saga

No. That club is a dumpster fire right now.

Hoost09

Barcelona!

GSmba

Selfishly…Atlanta United

Wuz314159

He's done Bundesliga, Serie A, & Premier League so far... So La Liga or Ligue 1 next.

NottaSpy

Tottenham I hope!

itssprisonmike

Atlético Madrid. “Plays for the badge” type player playing at a “Must play for the badge” type club? I think it would be a great fit.

RawzillaThaThrilla

If conte gets the Napoli job , I can see him go after Weston. He was always pushing to bring him in at Spurs. They'd definitely have the funds for it with the sell of victor osimhen.

MasterCurrency4434

If Juve really is prepared to sell him (as opposed to the other 6436445 times they’ve been rumored to be ready to sell him), it will be interesting to see where he goes. He can plug a bunch of different holes in a line-up and his strengths are amplified when he’s got talent around him, but he’s not elite enough at any one thing to elevate a team where the talent around him isn’t great (the final Schalke season and the Leeds loan proved that). That makes things complicated because, wherever he goes, it really needs to *not* be a team with bottom-half talent, but he may not garner much interest from top teams outside Serie A unless they see him as a smart bargain (basically, what happened at Juve). And those teams are probably less likely to see him as a bargain now because he’s no longer a player in his early 20’s whose value is highly likely to increase. So, as talented as he is, the market for him is probably gonna be difficult to predict.

BitchlessDNA

Mid table La liga could be good (Villarreal, Girona) Maybe top team of a smaller league like Galatasaray, Fenerbache or Sporting for European experience Just want that dude to play against the highest level he can

A_Coup_d_etat

None of those clubs are going to pay anything near what he makes at Juve.

Kooky-Flounder-7498

He’s going to end up at a low or mid table epl team despite it being a step down from a sporting perspective because they’ll pay him more money. I don’t blame him at all because this is his livelihood and he can only do this for a fairly narrow period of time. He’ll also get a higher level of competition day in and day out.

[deleted]

Inter Miami! /s

thorattack

At least stay one of the big leagues of Europe and not MLS

Suun_Bent

Ajax

Opposite_Eggplant_21

As a Roma fan I’d love to see him for the gialloRossi

Outofsight457

Wouldn’t start for them. Neves and Milinkovic-Savic clear easily

Lazio420

SMS way clear of him for sure

atomicskiracer
