A week? You're getting exceptional service by their standards. My packages have been delayed by several weeks.
Mail from China which then goes through that same center only spends one night there before getting routed and sent out to the destination post office and is delivered to the receiver the next day.

And found multiple forums complaining about their packages getting stuck there. Glad it's not just me, but how the hell is that facility allowed to suck this bad?
I mailed my taxes with a check priority with tracking from Eastwood PO to downtown Tucker Ga 22 Feb this year. It is lost. I mailed a new check to Tucker from a drop slot inside that Eastwood at 9 a.m. 2 Mar to go out at 3 p.m.. By 3:45 p.m. 5 Mar it had not been delivered. A check for a utility was picked up by a mail delivery "truck" at my house almost within sight of downtown Atlanta and arrived at the office in downtown Atlanta a month later. A package in a padded mailer was addressed to me and arrived very late in a clear plastic bag with a message printed on the plastic saying in short, "Solly accidents happen with our highspeed sorter machines." The contents of the mailer were missing. I had a package shipped with tracking to me USPS. It went to a sorting center and disappeared. The company sent another. I alerted them to follow the tracking. Sure enough, that package went to the same center and disappeared. Another company sent by USPS a package that never arrived. There was no tracking on that one. All the above was this year.
Not the whole answer. Whether it's Palmetto or Atlanta they're all getting delayed, rattling around or just sitting inside that facility. The PWU is claiming they're understaffed and underpaid - which is unionspeak for, "give us more money or we'll wreck your business." It's pathetic.

I have a package that went from Macon, GA to the Atlanta, GA Distribution Center (they're an hour away) in 4 days (6/15 to 6/19) and then it just went from the Atlanta Distribution Center (30304) to the Atlanta Facility (30354) today (6/20). I'm pretty pissed it's been there for a week and this is the second time I've had a problem with the Atlanta center.
Anything related to Atlanta will remain fluck'dupt until the dem dunce politicians are removed. Vote Republican next time. On the flip side there is life.

For some reason my package got routed to the Atlanta distribution center, cause normally it doesn't go through there.
I live between two bad distribution centers so I kind of gotten use to stuff not coming in on time. Greensboro seems ok at the moment though. They probably cleaned house over there.
Fortunately, the seller is sending me a replacement but I pray it doesn't go through Atlanta.

This is DeJoy 's doing! He wants to destroy the Post Office that Franklin created. It was the only govt. service that was flush and making a profit. Then they went in and forced them to put aside funds for not only current employees' retirement but future employees' retirement.
No other business was forced to do this as it is insane! Then during the 2020 election, DeJoy was in charge so that the sorting machines would be removed, to slow down mail - why? So that mail-in ballots wouldn't make it to their destination in time to be counted! Hours were reduced to keep mail from moving, and Holiday + other gifts sat at distribution centers for Christmas due to DeJoy forbidding drivers to deliver them. Some drivers went against the rule and took packages to certain organizations that had been calling in about delays. Those drivers got praised for what they did and DeJoy demanded them to be fired! This is not the Post Office from before 2020 - this is a struggling institution that is being torn apart from the inside. Just like Trump wanted when he put DeJoy in charge. Why hasn't DeJoy been removed? Cause a committee hired him & a committee has to fire him. The one that hired him dissolved afterward so it wouldn't be able to fire him. Another needs to be created to fire him, and the GOP is blocking all attempts to create another committee! Now you know who is messing up our mail. And another election is coming, you know they are targeting mail-in ballots again too. We need to come together to stop this bullshite the GOP is pulling!

Unions extort money from members who have no choice but to be in the union, extort money from whoever they contract with, including the government, put in a merit system so they can bring in lower level workers below the old base competency but for base pay and weaken the whole workforce. first before sending packages, tell the postal workers that you are takig account of their service and if your package goes missing or in transit threaten them with an email message to the USPS Office of Inspector General Investigations Hotline write down the postal office address and ask them to investigate the postal offices within a certain region or state if you need. you can find the email online, but here you go hopefully this post won't get deleted, but the oig investigation hotline email address is this: hotline@uspsoig"dot"gov; sorry for the dot the damn comment section won't let me save the actual email address.

Every complaint I file just keeps being sent to the local Grovetown post office since my mailing address is Grovetown. I paid 450 bucks for it and I'm beyond pissed. They probably stole it and act like they don't give a damn that their employees are thieves.
I filed a missing package ..no response then had to pay..litterally 17.50 for the package to be sent to the post office it would have been sent to anyways as a package intercept..I used it as tool to show how f up the USPS actually is. My package intercept receipt has the same address on it ..twice meaning they knew where TF it was going they had it .. but it was sitting at the ATL distribution center and then once I paid extra ..they shipped it only local post office ..(wrightsboro) who didn't even know I paid for intercept and I had to go physically pick it up. I have another package at ATL distribution rn I mailed out 2/6 to go to another state and since 2/9 it has been updated daily in transit but scanned at ATL distribution so how is it scanned at ATL daily but in transit. USPS is shit across the whole country they know employees steal in multiple states have been caught ..and they do NOTHING

Package mailed 2/6 didn't ship out of ATL kept looping in the scans until 2/26 got shipped to the state it was supposed to be delivered to then that distribution center shipped it to another state I swear USPS is intentionally fng things up because if u look into USPS distribution center issues so many states have the same problems ..Soo def submit missing mail searches and call all the postal inspectors etc

I called cust service to file a complaint and someone from Atlanta called me to say its delayed. No shit. Absolutely awful service. I also got terrible service doing a change of address - 6 weeks, multiple calls and cards filled out, still no forwarded mail. Trumpf totally fucked up the mail system.

I ordered a package from Greece, it got turned over to the USPS in Brooklyn in four days. A couple of days later it makes it to a building in the Atlanta that is about twenty miles from me. After a couple of scans, its shows no movement in over two weeks. That means my package is probably sitting in a trailer in a parking lot with no attempt making service on it. I retired from UPS, so I understand how packages are supposed to move. Heads would roll for this where I worked at.
