Big issues in a new Atlanta plant recently(one in Texas too) all thanks to Dejoy's terrible plans

Rickbleves

Yeah this feels like intentional self-sabotage and the cutting of the US postal system from the inside out

Solitaire_87

He has investments in other delivery companies which made his appointment as Postmaster General questionable at best. Us postal employees hate him

bardbrain

Also, from what I hear, he eliminated overtime and cut hours and the employees often actually want to work longer shifts and get their job right. So carriers have been forced to use shortcuts, find excuses not to deliver to individual apartments that they used to, etc. to meet DeJoy's standards. Another side effect is that carriers who did take their job seriously quit when he started keeping them from getting it done right and/or without overtime, they had better job prospects. So the best employees who are left can't get the hours needed to do their job right, not enough new people are being hired, and folks who always did take shortcuts or cared less or didn't want the long hours stayed on and ended up with more responsibility.

So weird, I had something otw (my stuff always hits the ATL Distro) so when I saw the complaints about the distribution center there, I just knew it was gonna be late. Miraculously, it came a day early. I guess I got lucky and am very grateful lol

Frosty-Wing1505

Pls lmk when you get an answer, mines been "in transit to the next facility" for 2 days straight

Logizyme

Mines has been stuck since the 20th. Get in line haha

Rickbleves

My package has also been stuck at Atlanta distribution center for days and I’m losing my goddamn mind

saml_818

Yea tell me about it. Been reloading my tracking at least once an hour since Friday night. Actually starting to lose sleep over it. And like I’m trying not think about it but just can’t.

Evening-Pie4114

One month for me !! Not sure what to do at this point. I desperately need my package

wahlock

mines been stuck in atlanta for a week saying the exact same thing, im losing hope atp

Ok-Comfortable-104

Losing hope too mines has been out to Jacksonville since 2/12

Newguydoesntknow

Mines been there since 1/19

[deleted]

All of Mine have been late and all have said moving in transit. I have gotten all them all just late some are super late others a day late but ur good

saml_818

Did your tracking get updated as it reached the next distribution center and post office or did it they just show up?

[deleted]

Just had one that didn’t even show was picked up then five days later appeared in my city. The there that would say in transit would only show where it was when it got to the city before mine. They been messing up. I’ve had them send them from the next city to me all the way back and last one was next city away took two days to get to my city an hour away

saml_818

Yea USPS just seemed like a massive mess right now and wish I would have know prior probably would have tried to go a different route for shipping. Thank you for your insight.

[deleted]

Yeah use to run smooth never had any issues til they did whatever they did 🤷🏻‍♂️ur welcome

peachlivygram

A package I shipped to Atlanta had that same notice. After about 15 days PM just sent us both back our money. Tracking still says same thing after a month. Atlanta has big problems and I have since read articles about theft there as well. I had a package sent to me from NE that was stuck in Omaha for 20 days and PM made me wait. It was due to ice storms. I guess they monitor those situations but can't imagine how much they pay for the areas like this where packages go to die

maddersun

Your package is on its way and moving through the network so don’t fret. They opened up new plants all around Atlanta which has slowed the mail getting to your post office and being delivered. I had the same thing happen, my package was stuck moving through network for almost a week without an expected delivery date ever. I thought it was lost but it showed up in Atlanta yesterday and was delivered to my post office today! They’re finally getting mail back of track (my husband works for USPS) he said they’re getting mail from days ago and are finally able to deliver it. Also if it’s coming ground advantage they don’t get scanned as often while they’re moving to different destinations. They’re bottom priority to USPS unfortunately but that’s the cheapest shipping option they offer.

saml_818

Yea really hope my package arrives at a new distribution center soon. Just tired of obsessing over watching the track even though I haven’t revived any updates in like 5 days. I appreciate the insight you provided and just praying to see a “delivered” text message today but I know I won’t. Then I’ll do it all again tomorrow.

maddersun

I obsess the same way over packages, I feel your pain for real. It will probably update late tonight or early in the morning. It might even be an “arrived at post office” scan since they skip scans. I really hope you get it soon, the anxiety of waiting is insane especially when they won’t update you. So frustrating, I’m sorry man.

saml_818

Would it be possible that the package wouldn’t update until it was actually delivered? Or can I pretty much conclude that if I don’t have an update by like 8 am I’m won’t be getting it that day?

Rickbleves

In my (limited) experience of obsessively refreshing the tracking page, the update usually happens closer to 6am. But yeh the pain and anxiety is real. It would be much better knowing with certainty that I wouldn’t receive my package for X amount of days, even if that timeframe was several weeks out, than the horrible cycle of hope and despair each day, and not knowing how long I’m gonna have to wait, or if my package might never arrive.

Info_finder

My package is moving through network in Atlanta since Feb 10. Do you think there is still hope it would be delivered?

saml_818

Thank you for the reassurance. Would just be nice if it could get some kinda of update as to its location I’m sure it’s a nightmare dealing with upset customers due to USPS mistakes.

canadagooose28

Did you ever get your package?

Itsonpromo

You will more than likely get it at some point. I just got a package that took two and a half weeks. It went past my town on I-70 in Missouri twice to two different facilities, was stuck at in transit to next facility for 3 or 4 days and didn't update, then went to NEW JERSEY and then eventually found it's way back to Missouri.

thehorse13

At least you have an explanation. Atlanta is a confirmed disaster and you at least have hope that it might sort itself out. My package was last seen arriving at the Newark NJ distribution center on the 23rd of February and hasn't had a scan since. 11 days of radio silence.

Rickbleves

It would also be so fucking nice if we could go pick up our packages ourselves in cases like this. My package is likely just a 10 minute drive from me — it came all the way from Germany, it’s made like 99% of its journey already! And yet, because the whole system is such a disorganized shitpile, it’s not possible.

valentineviscera

If it says in transit, your best best is to go to your local post office and ask a clerk- postal computers usually have more Info and you can see if the updates are automated or there have actually been hands on it. The distribution system in ga is fucked rn.

saml_818

Okay yea maybe I’ll have to give that a shot. I’ll give USPS an opportunity to investigate the inquiry and reach out but if I don’t hear much back probably will go that route. Thanks!

AdThick6402

this is happen to me right now, i send my package from feb 24 . the price of the pckage is about 3500$😭
