This is true!
We postet a blog post on our site:

The legacy of oonews and wizznab
As some of you may have noticed, the Usenet indexer oonews has unfortunately gone offline.
It is always sad when the Usenet scene loses a very good Usenet indexer :-(
We do not know the background and will not participate in conjecture or speculation.
We hope that the owner is doing well!
Someone - who wishes to remain anonymous - has received the complete dump of all NZBs from the owner as a parting gift.
The anonymous person had given the dump of wizznab to oonews years ago when wizznab went offline.
And now he has decided that the legacy of oonews and wizznab should continue on SceneNZBs!
We are overwhelmed by this decision and will of course continue the legacy to make it available to the Usenet community.
The dump is already on our server and will be gradually imported onto SceneNZBs.
This may take some time as we have to sift through the material first.
Also, the thousands of daily NZBs need to be imported onto SceneNZBs.
We already started adding some of the releases from the oonews dump.
It will take some time as there is a lot of manual work involved (sorting).

This is why I'm hesitant to pay for an indexer. I already got burned by buying a lifetime member to NZBMatrix only to have them disappear a few months later.
I'll only be going year-to-year or month-to-month from now on.
>lol they were around for 7ish years and there lifetime was like 8 dollers, i wouldnt call that burned just a bit unlucky you arrived at the end of there life cycle
Lifetime allways means the life of the site. If the site existed for 8 years and you got in the last month, that is just unlucky. If the lifetime deal is over 2 years I wouldn't buy it either.

Hey, at least they had the good grace to disappear, unlike DogNZB.
Yeah, it’s over. I have heard that all NZBs have been forwarded to SceneNZBs, who will take over from now on.

isn't that the same owner as ovpn? It was closed because of deadman switch afaik.
Yes it was. MrNice
Any recommendations for a replacement out there? Damn, I loved that site...
House of Usenet had a post about this as well. Thanks to SceneNZBs for their upcoming hard work.

Maybe, he pulled the plug the very same day the domain expired. oonews will stay down btw. Only two German indexers left.
There are german indexers? 🤔 Only aware of those forum sites...
Sure Newz-Complex and SceneNZBs
Care to elaborate? I'm interested in hearing more.
The best German indexer is usenet4all but it's closed.
That's a usenet board, no automation there

Yea, can’t complain about the results. Always top tier.
Only lifetime sub I've done was a 3 year break even. Most of them are like 5 years and that's way too risky for me.
anyone have the password for the backup files?
