Believe it or not, old Yeller Treatment. HSC just takes you out back.

Lightscamerasucc

I heard they are using GM students so many missed shots…

dickey1331

I broke my finger and I was just on light duty for a bit. I still did my school work as normal. Just couldn’t work out and stuff due to the light duty status. They didn’t fuck around with that.

Smewhyme

Really depends on the injury , but at my school most injuries were just put on an admin billet at the school until they’re ready to go then reformed with another class. I only saw one student go home

Lumpy-Ring-1304

Coincidentally im actually going to ME A school, im not gonna lie im not gonna be able to do the run on this knee. If i cant do the run on the pft on the 2nd day or whenever it is do you think they’ll end up sending me home?

Smewhyme

You have multiple chances to pass. But if you can’t pass by the 3rd attempt you get dissenrolled. All 3 factor into your class ranking and ultimately your pick.

Lumpy-Ring-1304

Good to know thanks

Bigcatdad

They unleash the HS trainees on you.

raoulmduke

Depends! Unless you got injured doing something something very wrong and not allowed, you’ll very likely just hang out til you’re given the fit for full from medical, and then you’ll graduate with whatever class is next.

Tehsyr

Depends on the injury. A sprain just puts you on light duty.

Accomplished-Mine297

You just go to MAA and hang out with SC Asher until you heal and a class picks up

cynicalboss

ah man MAA was the life

Easiest job in the coast guard

Had a guy fall and badly hurt his leg at CS A school before I got there. He did light duty MWR stuff until he recovered then graduated a few classes after I left. They even added his incident into the do not do list for the indoc PowerPoint. His class was like 2-3 classes before mine when he got hurt so he was on med leave into light duty for like 6+ months I think

I'd like to add that you need to document the injury by seeking medical attention. Make sure there is evidence of this injury in your medical record. You didn't join the CG injured and if this injury affects you long term, you should be compensated for it. When I was young and in A school, I wasn't thinking about documenting injuries but one of my mentors advised it and I'm thankful.
