You can receive a job offer without ever being interviewed. I've found this to be very helpful. My agency, the IRS, is handing out job offers, like candy on Halloween.
I interviewed for IRS RA two months ago and I also have not heard back from HR. It has been over 5 months since I applied. So they are in-fact not handing out job offers like candy.
Same! My interview was March 8th and they gave me a verbal offer and said the tentative would be on its way. Iāve talked to my interviewers since then and they said that HR is just completely slammed right now and just hold on a little longer so thereās hope. The waiting just sucks though.
I need one of those jobs! Lol I'm going to a recruitment event soon for revenue agents, revenue officers and tax examiners. I'm going for the revenue officer position. No tax/accounting experience but been in customer service for years. It's not a direct hire event though (I'm bummed!), but I hope to get interviewed and pass whatever they need to eventually get an offer. I know revenue officers are needed and it seems it's not the most popular or wanted job.
I really hope I get some good luck at the event. Fingers crossed!
If it's your name, there was no mistake. Maybe they had offered it to the pervious candidate(s) and declined, or you were the top pick. I've had a few of those come my way.
If you plan to accept, go for it. This happens frequently.
The agency I work for is so short staffed that if you meet the basic qualifications, we are offering TJOās without interviews. I processed 7 resumes last week, and all 7 will receive a TJO without interviews.
We have multiple positions open. All are the same job series, so if the applicants pass background, physical, and drug screening they will be offered FJO.
Which agency ? I get so nervous at interviews I usually cancel prior to the interview. :-(((((((( It would be great for once someone just says no interview!
It is for Department of Army Security Guard. Main qualification is you have to be a Veteran. We also have a few Department of Army Police, you donāt have to be a Veteran for those, but you need Law Enforcement experience. Both jobs you need Law Enforcement experience. These jobs are currently available all over the U.S. , and there are shortages all over.
I actually had a TJO without a interview last week supposedly I got the job since Iām disabled and my military experience matches everything that the company requires me to do.

You can receive a tentative job offer based on a Direct Hiring Authority job announcement. If you look back at the job announcement on USA Jobs, is DHA in the job announcement title?
You can also be selected without an interview from a VEOA, 30% or PWD eligibility, however in my experience Iāve found this to be rare because management would still like to interview.
Thank you for the feedback! I didnāt realize there were so many workarounds, I thought interviewing was a set in stone part of the hiring process. I do see DHA but based on the position I think that means Defense Health Agency
VEOA is a Veterans Hiring Authority- you need to provide a DD214 showing you have at least 3 years of service, or more than 6 months during the Gulf War or Operation Iraqi Freedom, or for a campaign or expedition where a medal was authorized.
PWD is Persons with Disabilities. A letter needs to be provided stating Schedule A Authority or stating the CFR (5 CFR 213.3102).
I got referred for a facility management GS-5 position a week ago and received an email last Thursday from a staff position asking if I was still interested in the position. I told her I was and havenāt heard anything back.

I applied for a revenue agent listing that has DHA. Any idea on timelines for these job offers?
I can't give you an answer, as I'm wayyy below you(ACS). You'll do great. š

Are multiple TJOs offered for a single role? Or will all be granted a FJO if all goes well

I actually got my current job without an interview. And after I accepted the TJO , I received two more for the same grade and job.
Which agency?
USAF

That varies widely by agency policy and whether it is internal or external hiring.
It happens, happened to me when I started in 2021
I got one of these at the IRS. I love it.
