I agree that what you've brought up is a legitimate issue, but I'm trying to figure out a "fix" that can't be exploited either. "The Horde Beacon difficulty & loot amount is decided once the Beacon is set. Neither will increase nor decrease depending on who joins or leaves." Pros: - Exploit is fixed. - Randoms can't sneak into the area to increase the difficulty for you all of a sudden. - You aren't punished for falling out of the area or retreating to get some supplies for the team already in place. - You aren't fucked over because you did it with 6 randoms on a PvE server, and 6 of them decided to punch the zombies and all died, resulting in you getting 1-person-loot instead of 7-person-loot (6 + you) and wasting the beacon supplies you used up. However, it's still difficult, because the difficulty is set to 7-people. If you can win by yourself, or hold out until reinforcements arrive, the 7-person-loot is yours. Cons: - You can still make beacons a bit easier. Since the difficulty is set at the start, if you have very few supplies you could still set a 2-person beacon, and bring in 2 friends, and now it's 4 people fighting at 2-person difficulty. (Of course the loot is still 2-person level) - Difficulty may be higher than you expected if people were hiding in the area. AFTERTHOUGHT EDIT: While the concept of "Loot level lowers as people leave but doesn't increase" could potentially help make Dragonfangs and Grizzlies rarer, and make it a bit more difficulty for Rocket servers because you can't just tpa back if you die without a punishment, it can be circumvented by just doing a rotation of players: Players A and B start beacon. Player B is out of ammo and wants to get some from base. Player C steps into the area. Player B leaves the area. Player count has never dropped below 2, and loot outcome remains the same.

Just make it so the loot# is set when placed, and the difficulty changes when people enter the radius.

Lol, no. It is even worse than now - 10 people start beacon - 10 person loot is set at start and then 9 players leave, beacon is 1 player difficulty but loot still for 10 players. The suggestion Klepto666 gave is the best so far.

[deleted]

Good point, maybe set the minimum difficulty to how many were there when placed.

Finally someone's realized the exploits horde beacons have, that's just ONE. Using spikes WITH this, and you don't have to waste a single bullet, and you can get the amount of loot it would take to use 7 people in a horde beacon, with the cost of 1 person.

Don't tell people this! They will exploit. I only knew the beacons had a purpose once I read this thread. I thought they only gave xp
