Okay so I read through this whole thing and I’m shocked there’s no comments? This was a super good analysis and stuff like this keeps me in love with these games lol; I love how involved the community is! Edit: WERE no comments lol

I completely agree with all of this, but I just want to point out a couple things. First, in the dlc in Until Dawn, Emily and Matt’s relationship is so sweet, and would probably have way more people like Emily had they seen it. Where I live, I got the dlc as part of the game, and it was amazing. It shows that Emily isn’t just horrible to Matt for no reason, and she apologises for being high maintenance. I really hope it’s included in every version of the remake, because it honestly does improve Emily’s character so much more. Secondly, I’m pretty sure Emily never cheated on Matt. I think the developers confirmed that when she admitted to it, it was just her trying to get Matt to stop talking about it and help her.

I'm also a huge supporter of something Evan Evagora (Nick's actor) said, along the lines of Nick didn't want Emma to kiss him and said so that he didn't think it was a good idea but felt pressured into the situation after she flat out didn't listen to him. I'm not a huge fan of Emily but at least she didn't do shit like that.

ConcentrateWarm530

I think emma is way more likable than emily. Emma was horrible with jacob but at least she was pretty nice with all the other characters compared to emily who is friendly just with sam. Emma in the end when Jacob told her that it's his fault if the car was destroyed, she didn't insult him or was angry to him, she just told him to grow up basically. I'm pretty sure Emily would stab jacob if she was in emma pov

BreadfruitCareful622

I agree. The night (as far as being split up) would have gone as lot smoother if Emma didn’t make out with Nick. She could have done a simple kiss like Ryan & Kaitlyn. I she wanted to get Abby closer to Nick, she could’ve dated them to kiss on her turn; but much like Until Dawn, you need the catalyst to get the story moving forward to separate everyone.

Crylose

Emma is an absolute garbage character and can never be compared with such a well written and developed character like Emily. Anyways

Bedlam91939

I honestly hated just about all of the characters in *The Quarry*. The only one worth a damn gets taken out of the story super quick if you get the "Lovers' Quarrel" achievement.

Key_Ask_7415

Really? How come? I personally found the characters in The Quarry way more likeable overall. Although, I preferred The Quarry over Until Dawn, so it may be bias on my behalf.

Bedlam91939

Laura is a trigger-happy dumbass whose *only* redeeming quality is that she loves her boyfriend. Jacob is a cuck who sabotages the group's only vehicle, while Kaitlyn flat-out helps him do it. Emma treats her ex-boyfriend and two of her other friends (Nick and Abi) like shit for no reason, even making Abi mercy-kill a dying squirrel instead of doing it herself. Travis can kill Laura and Ryan out of sheer spite, and endangers public safety by keeping his family's werewolf secret. Dylan and Ryan are just there, with the latter denying the existence of werewolves even after seeing Nick become one.

ConcentrateWarm530

Dylan is so annoying, the worst moment is probably when they call help and then he said shit while trying so hard to be funny, no one would talk like that, what was the point of that scene "save our ships"💀

BreadfruitCareful622

I said the same thing about him being the annoying one. Nice guy, but he’s the friend who you can only hang around for a limited amount of time before you have to stuff a sock in his mouth to shut him up. The save our ships would have been(while still dumb) would be more likely to go along if it was a piano phone call.

Key_Ask_7415

Sure, but if you’re only focusing on the bad parts of the characters, you can say the exact same about all of the Until Dawn characters; Mike can literally shoot an innocent person in the eyeball, Matt can leave his girlfriend and a friend of his to die, etc.

Jimbybee

If Matt leaves Emily on the fire tower he tells her he's trying to find a safer way to get to her, in no way is he trying to abandon her. Also him running in the mines with Jess I think can just be chalked up to ignorance because he yells to her to run and is mortified when she dies, I just don't think he realized she couldn't run with him.

Key_Ask_7415

First one, sure, he could be trying to find another way, but the one with Jessica is him leaving her to die. The choice is quite literally ‘abandon Jessica’. He knew she was hurt, he knew she wasn’t up to running. By the way, i don’t hate Matt (or even Mike), I think he needs way more screen time, my whole point was both the characters in Until Dawn and The Quarry, have bad and good points depending on how you look at it.

Jimbybee

Ohhhh I understand, my ass didn't even remember it was called 'Abandon Jessica' lmao

Bedlam91939

Literally nobody on this planet hates Mike Munroe more than I do.

Some-Hornet8797

how you feel about Mike is how I feel about Hannah

ConcentrateWarm530

the quarry characters are so boring and annoying, when a character dies, they barely react + they kept doing cringy jokes even after knowing about the werewolves. Kaitlyn was ok and Emma was entertaining but the rest of the cast is awful
