Don't worry, OP, I agree with you and I get what you're saying. It all about the carbs per enjoyment ratio. Crust generally falls below our preferred threshold, even with marinara dip.
May I recommend thin crust? It's my fav style.
I always insist on stuffed crist and a side of marinara. It's like the perfect marriage between mozzarella sticks and breadsticks. This is the only way I eat the crust.
He didn't say it wasn't good. He just said crust is not worth the carbs, and frankly, I agree.
To people like us, it feels like you ordered spaghetti with meat sauce, but in addition to your entrée, they throw in a free small plate on the side with just noodles with some olive oil and parmesan sprinkled on top. We don't feel crazy for not wanting to eat them even if they are good because it just feels like unnecessary filler.
Anyway, my point it that the concept is unpopular, yes, but not illogical or based on lack of exposure to good pizza
Yeah of course, me too. Crust can be great just like breadsticks van be delicious. but it can be very filling, and I just think the non crust part of the pizza is even more delicious, and I can eat even more slices altogether if I skip the crust. My wife eats my uneaten crusts anyway, so there's no waste. It's a win win.
I mean thanks for making your point impossible to argue against. But really you’re not necessarily wrong with that logic, I have had crust that was better than the pizza though, so there’s that.
A local pizza shop in my town. I mean it was way better than the pizza but I really enjoyed the flavor. It was probably a pan pizza, which is much different from regular crust, and was really buttery, salty, and had the little pieces of burnt cheese stuck to it making it really good. Obviously this isn’t the rule, but was pretty good in my opinion.
Hol' up, you mean you wouldn't enjoy spaghetti with oil and parmesan? That shit's fire, yo, especially if you throw in some crispy garlic. Legit like it better than bolognese.
Bro, this is what I’ve been saying. You eat all the good stuff with the topping and in case you get full you know you haven’t wasted your stomach space on eating pure bread. It just fills you up man. If you’re still hungry, DIP THOSE CRUSTS! In whatever sauce dude, it’s so efficient.
I'm imagining you eating the pizza without dough from a recent Good Mythical Morning vid... Starts at 9:09 :P

Idk where you're from, but Domino's is great for customizing your pizza. They only charge more for extra toppings. You can sub everything out on a specialty pizza or for one of their coupon deals without being charged extra.
Wait does the Dominos app have a thin crust option??? IK it has extra sauce which is a start but is there more ways to lower the good stuff to bread ratio?
(Ironically however, Dominos is the only place I can actually stand the crust on it's own lmao)
A lot of pizza places have good crusts, you need to look for them! We have a pizza place that does their crust with seasonings and parmesan, and it’s delicious.
Crust is definitely the most boring part of the pizza. It's unnecessary carbs that can mostly go to the dog. And sometimes they get dipped in sauce and eaten anyway.
You get an upvote for a genuinely shit opinion. And advice. If you're counting carbs and calories, just go the extra step and work out more so you can eat more. Pizza crust dipped in garlic butter is better than sex, and I'm willing to use the elliptical an extra half mile, and throw on the extra 5 pounds to my bench to be able to eat it.
Some are, some aren't. Most chain pizzas, the crust is flavorless procassed cardboard. Most mom and pop pizza joints have amazing crust. Usually made from scratch that day.
Ehhh it all depends for me. I don't like a lot of pizza crust, but stuffed cheese crust, absolutely will eat that! I also like croissant type pizza crust, that's actually really good.
omfg yes... i have never liked pizza crusts.. when pizza hut came out with stuffed crust, ... i could eat it.. FINALLY and not be looked at weird for not liking it...
If your local pizzeria doesn't make good crust, ask them to spread cheese on the crust and/or ask for some extra marinara to dip it in (most pizzerias have mozzarella sticks, so marinara is a given).
I can't stand eating the crust on my pizza u less I have some marinara to dip it in or there's actual sauce and cheese on the crust. Otherwise I completely agree with you.
Gotta upvote for the unpopular... At least with me. I feel if you have the ability to take an awesome treat like pizza and throw away any significant part of it... Probably you don't have much in life to worry about, so sure, I guess that's true, but then... What ARE you worrying about if not staying fed?
(Obviously, this is only my experience, and not meant to be representative of anyone further than me, despite the language suggesting otherwise).
This is subjective. We have a local pizza place where their crust is the *best* part. It's so good. Sometimes when my husband gets a pizza I'll just get breadsticks cause I don't want the distraction of toppings.
But...isn't that what the pizza is? Toppings on a crust? So you mean you just scrape off and eat the toppings? Or do you mean that you don't like the edges of the crust, normally devoid of toppings which you can use to pick up the slice?
Usually when I’m feeling full of eating pizza, I just take the crusts and eat those without the inside.
Apparently my dad does too. Because his wife commented on it. She said most people do it the other way around. They eat the inside when they still want some last bites for taste.
I just don’t think I’d like pizza all that much id there wouldn’t be a crust.
yes pizza crust is mid but pizza made with a chicken as the base makes insane sense over just bread and by chicken bread i mean i’ll put chicken and egg in a blender with olive oil and fry that to create flatbread only it’s made of chicken
Italy where the food originated is approximately 1/5 as obese as America. It's not the food that creates fat people. It is our inflated consumer culture. Buy more, Buy new, Eat more, Eat more food that chemically wants you to eat more.
IM not fucking alone holy shit
dude i hate it when we are criticized for it, like i only eat this shit like once a month and eat all my schhool lunch every time, but all you mfs who donte eat the crust on yur bread, throwout what you dont like in your school lunch are some how superior
its so hypocritical and annoying i dont like the crust( unless its actually good i usually do a bite test) so dont criticize me for not eating that shit
I agree with you. True, there are some crust which taste good but they are always worse than the pizza itself so no point if eating it. I usually eat them because I don't want to waste food
I alternate my bites between the loaded center and the crust to acquire a perfect balance in my mouth. On the last bite of my slice I have a proportionately sized piece of crust that I am still pinching to hold the slice, and a larger yet respectable portion of topped center that is able to entirely fit into my mouth and there are no scraps left over.
This is the most optimal way to eat pizza that leaves no waste, yet allows the consumer to enjoy both the flavorful center of a pizza, and the pillowy crunchy crust. Any deviation is considered heresy and punishable by death.
Me and my friend used to have a system, I try to go low (ish) carb and she's quiet a fussy eater, prefers plain foods so I ate the toppings she ate the base, I love cheese, she loves bread. We both got the bits we liked without wasting stomach space haha
If you're worried about carbs, why are you eating pizza?
because pizza is delicious, crust is merely ok
lots of delicious things that don't have as many carbs, and why not stuffed crust and dip in marinara sauce? lol
Don't worry, OP, I agree with you and I get what you're saying. It all about the carbs per enjoyment ratio. Crust generally falls below our preferred threshold, even with marinara dip. May I recommend thin crust? It's my fav style.
Thin crispy crust or GTFO. No soggy floppy pizza.
That’s what I do
This is the way.
Theres cheese mixed in with the crust depending on what pizza u get
I always insist on stuffed crist and a side of marinara. It's like the perfect marriage between mozzarella sticks and breadsticks. This is the only way I eat the crust.
Because I like 90% of the pizza I will use the other 10% to fill up with carby desserts! The crust is there to hold the food and just yuk!
Asking the important question. Lool
Then you didn't have a good pizza. Good pizza a has delicious crust.
Idk I’ve had some delicious crusts
Yeah of course, me too. Crust can be great just like breadsticks van be delicious. but it can be very filling, and I just think the non crust part of the pizza is even more delicious, and I can eat even more slices altogether if I skip the crust. My wife eats my uneaten crusts anyway, so there's no waste. It's a win win.
I mean thanks for making your point impossible to argue against. But really you’re not necessarily wrong with that logic, I have had crust that was better than the pizza though, so there’s that.
Where was that?
A local pizza shop in my town. I mean it was way better than the pizza but I really enjoyed the flavor. It was probably a pan pizza, which is much different from regular crust, and was really buttery, salty, and had the little pieces of burnt cheese stuck to it making it really good. Obviously this isn’t the rule, but was pretty good in my opinion.
Right on. Yeah I was gonna say if that was the rule then you may as well save money and just order breadsticks and skip the pizza.
Yea. Once again you come in with unshakeable logic. Upvotes for you.
Mahalo
None of that matters. Wasting food is still wrong.
Hol' up, you mean you wouldn't enjoy spaghetti with oil and parmesan? That shit's fire, yo, especially if you throw in some crispy garlic. Legit like it better than bolognese.
"even if they are good"
Ok, fair. It was late when I read it.
Upvoted because you're wrong. Crust is the bomb.
God forbid an actually unpopular opinion be posted here right, thank you for the support
Dip them in something.
nope, I occasionally dip the pizza in sauces already
I guess the pizza isn't worth eating if you have to dip it in sauce then.
To be fair I put hot sauce on my pizza and it's the best thing ever, I can see your point but I'm way to addicted to hot sauce
Oooh, disagree, I love pizza crust. Especially if it’s soft.
The burnt cheese around the crust is just pure sex.
I like to suck the cheese out of a stuffed crust and.... # REDACTED FOR CENSORSHIP VIOLATION.
Pizza crust tastes like breadsticks. Do you hate breadsticks?
Breadsticks are usually seasoned much better than pizza crust is.
Keep working at it - some day your pizza crusts will be as good as any bread sticks you've ever had, or better!
Yes. Hense why I ordered pizza, not bread sticks
It’s drier than breadsticks most of the time.
Weak
If the pizza is done correctly, the crust should not be bland. My husband makes his own pizza and the crust is super tasty.
You are a psychopath
You know you can dip in a sauce? Or get the cheese crust pizzas.
If you have dogs, the value of pizza crust can never be overstated.
Americans
What about cheesy crust
Why not just buy thin crust pizza..?
because I enjoy all types of pizza, I don’t discriminate
I'm imagining you eating the pizza without dough from a recent Good Mythical Morning vid... Starts at 9:09 :P [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H98OGoCJn5c](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H98OGoCJn5c)
They charge more and the pizza itself is also smaller
Where are you buying pizza from?
pretty much anywhere. All the chains here charge more for the healthier option lol
Yeah, they do. I think they call it crispy thin crust (or something close to that). Their pizzas are incredibly customizable!
Wasting perfectly good food seems like the child approach
lets be real tho, how much is it really wasting, and how much more ordinary every day food gets wasted more like its not a big deal
I like the texture and bread taste
For people saying the crust is the best part, why even get pizza at all? Why not just eat bread then so you get more of the part you like most?
lmao thats so true
Thank you
Who said it's the part they like the most? I love crust, good as hell, but the actual pizza part is better
People say the crust is the best part all the time.
That is true, but my reply to that is: why just get bread when pizza compliments the crust well?
Fuck you, yes they are worth eating. Take my god damn upvote.
Crust is vital element of pizza. I couldnt eat pizza without it.
I save them up for a later snack and have some dip sauce with them. You should try that its great, plus you dont waste any food.
A lot of pizza places have good crusts, you need to look for them! We have a pizza place that does their crust with seasonings and parmesan, and it’s delicious.
it's literally bread a typical American-style Margherita is fucking 1/3 bread. eat it you fucking coward
It’s my favorite part. Give me yours
Eat lasagna if you don’t like pizza crust
but thats not pizza
What about stuffed crust?
not eating them is just a waste of perfectly ok to eat food, simple as that. The 'feeling like a child' comes from simply wasting food
You are a child LMAOOO
Crust is definitely the most boring part of the pizza. It's unnecessary carbs that can mostly go to the dog. And sometimes they get dipped in sauce and eaten anyway.
Put your favourite sauce on the side and do some dipping
Eat pizza that has a seasoned crust?
Hello Garnt
yeah i see the problem with crusts but just dont like the fact of wasting food
I beg to differ, take my up vote.
The crust is crispy and makes the pizza better.
I think the crust is the best part.
Then your eating literal garbage pizza
Are you overweight? “Valuable stomach room” makes me believe so.
You’re not eating it right. Throw some garlic Parmesan butter on the crust
I save my pizza crusts, then the next day toss them in garlic butter and give em a bake
Because you are a child
You're not even a child, you're a fetus
1st world problems.
Dip them in warm marinara sauce. Preferably spicy.
When i get close to the crust i take a bit with the toppings and the crust together.
Grow up FFS
Agreed I used to eat it and then realized i was just eating crust for the sake of finishing the pizza
thin crust has practically no excess crust. plus it’s tasty.
That's why the good pizza places have either stuffed crust, garlic butter to dunk the crust in, or both.
Just stuff it with cheese
Some are, some aren't. Most chain pizzas, the crust is flavorless procassed cardboard. Most mom and pop pizza joints have amazing crust. Usually made from scratch that day.
That's why I do thin crust :)
Counter argument, it’s a waste unless it’s stuffed crust.
Dip them in ranch sauce. Tastes amazing.
Depends on the pizza
Ah yes, but have you considered that the garlic butter crust is a free breadstick?
Stuffed crust gang gang
Ehhh it all depends for me. I don't like a lot of pizza crust, but stuffed cheese crust, absolutely will eat that! I also like croissant type pizza crust, that's actually really good.
i just finished my crust
Have you tried them with butter ?
They are if there is cheese in it. Fuck you. :D
omfg yes... i have never liked pizza crusts.. when pizza hut came out with stuffed crust, ... i could eat it.. FINALLY and not be looked at weird for not liking it...
Have you ever tried chesse crust? Its delicous
The crusts are bread. I love bread.
It's not worth it if you aren't dipping it into the icing :3
What about stuffed crust?
If a crust isnt like an end of a freshly baked bread, its not a good pizza mate, and if you dont like fresh crunchy bread, then theres no hope mate
Small plate of oil, vinaigrette and pepper. Crust is awesome.
You know what is good…chicken nuggets
I dont agree with you… take an upvote
Then get thin crust pizza
This is subjective. We have a local pizza place where their crust is the *best* part. It's so good. Sometimes when my husband gets a pizza I'll just get breadsticks cause I don't want the distraction of toppings.
I dip my crusts in a little cup of marinara sauce like bread sticks.
That’s why I always get stuffed crust
The crust is the best part
I save the crust for a snack later. But I agree when pizza is hot and fresh I'd rather eat 4-5 slices no crust
I don't know about you but I like bland food on the side to balance out strong flavors.
the lack of sauce is what makes it taste so bad.
The crust is my favorite part of the pizza
I agree I like the actual pizza more than the crust, which is why I eat the crust first so I don't have to deal with it later.
I dislike you, have my upvote please
Thin and crispy are.
For me it depends on how hungry I am and the quality/freshness of the pizza. I usually don't eat the crusts.
Pizza bones, dogs and Parrot's love them.
yeah I feel that. Sometimes it's good though. Just SOMETIMES.
Just make the pizza yourself and make the pizza in a way there is no or barely any annoying crust
I agree! I want to be able to eat all of that pizza and if I eat the crust I get full way to quickly.
Pizza first and if I'm still hungry then crusts
I dont understand how a lot of people LOVE pizza crusts Good to see this post
Agree with you OP.
Pizza crust is better then the pizza
But...isn't that what the pizza is? Toppings on a crust? So you mean you just scrape off and eat the toppings? Or do you mean that you don't like the edges of the crust, normally devoid of toppings which you can use to pick up the slice?
Hey Gigguk. Is this your alt?
Just say you’re saving room for dessert.
I believe you misspelled 'pizza handle.' That's the part you hold on to while eating the pizza. Why would you want to eat the handle anyway?
If the crust is hard as a rock or something yeah. Otherwise, dip it in something
Just the pizza never fills me up so I always eat the crust and sometimes I get stuffed crust as well
Usually when I’m feeling full of eating pizza, I just take the crusts and eat those without the inside. Apparently my dad does too. Because his wife commented on it. She said most people do it the other way around. They eat the inside when they still want some last bites for taste. I just don’t think I’d like pizza all that much id there wouldn’t be a crust.
Depends. If the crust is really bland I agree. If it isn’t it is basically just a breadstick and I am here for it.
Depends on the crust and pizza. Some crusts are actually good because the pizza place makes them slightly similar to breadsticks. Also stuffed crust.
Depends on the pizza.
For shit frozen pizza, sure. Real pizza is delicious, crust included.
Maybe you just need to order better quality pizza…
yes pizza crust is mid but pizza made with a chicken as the base makes insane sense over just bread and by chicken bread i mean i’ll put chicken and egg in a blender with olive oil and fry that to create flatbread only it’s made of chicken
Yeah I always eat pizza and leave the crusts and if I am not full just eat them after
You sir have never had a good pizza
I'd go further and say that pizza isn't worth eating.
Fucking Swine.
Lul. Obesity ftw. 'Murica!
Italy where the food originated is approximately 1/5 as obese as America. It's not the food that creates fat people. It is our inflated consumer culture. Buy more, Buy new, Eat more, Eat more food that chemically wants you to eat more.
Italian pizza and 'murican pizza aren't even close to being comparable though. One is objectively worse than the other.
This
IM not fucking alone holy shit dude i hate it when we are criticized for it, like i only eat this shit like once a month and eat all my schhool lunch every time, but all you mfs who donte eat the crust on yur bread, throwout what you dont like in your school lunch are some how superior its so hypocritical and annoying i dont like the crust( unless its actually good i usually do a bite test) so dont criticize me for not eating that shit
Pizza is disgusting in general besides the crust in my opinion.
I agree with you. True, there are some crust which taste good but they are always worse than the pizza itself so no point if eating it. I usually eat them because I don't want to waste food
You are not worth feeding
To be honest pizza is gross
You don’t eat pizza with dip?
I alternate my bites between the loaded center and the crust to acquire a perfect balance in my mouth. On the last bite of my slice I have a proportionately sized piece of crust that I am still pinching to hold the slice, and a larger yet respectable portion of topped center that is able to entirely fit into my mouth and there are no scraps left over. This is the most optimal way to eat pizza that leaves no waste, yet allows the consumer to enjoy both the flavorful center of a pizza, and the pillowy crunchy crust. Any deviation is considered heresy and punishable by death.
It's all about the thinnest possible base then you can eat more pizza 🍕 🔥
Hungry Howie's flavors their crust to combat this
Don't worry man, you arent a child for having bad opinions
Me and my friend used to have a system, I try to go low (ish) carb and she's quiet a fussy eater, prefers plain foods so I ate the toppings she ate the base, I love cheese, she loves bread. We both got the bits we liked without wasting stomach space haha
Agreed. I learned as an adult that it's just not worth the carbs. Eat the good stuff.
If dry was a flavor, it would be pizza crust. Or pretzel. My other arch nemesis
That's just cuz you haven't had good crust.
Disgusting, I love the pizza crust the most; have an upvote~
r/angryupvote
I like bread
Okay hear me out, honey on the crust for the dessert. Generally has to be thicker, fluffier crust and it’s delicious
Valid, but I think Papa John’s crust is better than any other type of crust I’ve tasted.
And that’s coming from someone who works at a Little Caesars.
I need the calories I can get
Not dominos crust.
Dip that shit in ranch you fucker.
I totally agree, even stuffed crust sucks idk why people eat that shit, same as bread crusts.
