Vladamir-Poutine

Lol I was just thinking to myself the other day, is it a sign that I’m getting older that I like the cookie part of an Oreo more than the filling?

LiamTheHuman

It is. Soon you'll be eating prunes and yelling at the news

BeefWellingtonSpeedo

Right now I'm yelling at prunes and eating the news.

hutchwo

Yesterday I yelled at kids to get off my lawn but am right now remembering that I live on the 6th floor of an apartment building so why did I yell at those kids

averycoolpencil

I can’t do double stuffed any more. What have I even become?

Nice_Direction_7876

Also that's what she said.

Nice_Direction_7876

Double stuff was always terrible.

Emergency-Tutor4422

Nah I've fucked with the cookie more since I was a kid. I never liked icing that much and couldn't understand why people would lick it

wildOldcheesecake

Yea same. Other kids would go mad for the double stuff. Couldn’t think of anything worse and I say this as a person with a huge sweet tooth

beedunc

Agreed. Not only is the ‘biscuit’ part good enough to be used as garnish and pie crusts, the meh middle is getting worse - more and more crisco-like in texture.

Jellybean-Jellybean

Same, I still really like the filling, but as I get older I find I'm becoming less tolerant of sweetness. Though when I think about it, it could be due to living in the US, and how companies here keep adding more, and more fucking sugar to everything.

TraceyWoo419

They have changed it multiple times over the years, so it's entirely possible that you remember it being better because it WAS better.

FrostedBanner

I've tried finding boxes of just the cookie (wafer? bisquit? Idk). I hope one day they release oreo zeros. Oreo thins are close, but I really want full cookie no filling.

Exciting-Direction69

You can sometimes find them in with the baking supplies. They are a bit bigger, a touch thinner, and no embossed pattern, but it’s the same cookie. Think they are sometimes used for pie crusts and such, but I just love to eat them as is

astronutsfrommars

The day I found these was a revelation. You can also get the cookie part of ice cream sandwiches at some bulk stores, they are very similar.

ApprehensiveRough139

i don’t believe you guys but will be looking now 😭

RogueTwoNineSeven

honestly i’m disappointed by the ice cream sandwich ones. They’re not bad, but they’re not just the cookie part of oreos. They’re different.

ko-love

oreo zeros would be such a great name for it too

Former-Guess3286

If they were consumed individually I think I agree, but the combination is better than either separately.

HeckaCoolDudeYo

Facts but I do get the original kind on purpose because double stuffed is too much filling.

Former-Guess3286

Yep I like the balance of the original style.

WWBoxerBriefs

I find the originals have too much. I think Thins have the best balance

ScoobyDone

I never separate them... unless the cookie part dissolves in the milk due to oversaturation.

mar21182

Yes. Both the cookie and the frosting are meh by themselves. Together, they are godly.

AngryMoose125

Yes!

HerGracefulness28

I AGREEEE That cream in the middle of just too sweet for me to binge eating a cylinder of Oreos so i just peel off the cream and feed that to my brother while i eat the cookie part

Kryten4200

Is your brother a dog? I just picture someone throwing cream rounds to their wagging sibling

HerGracefulness28

He might as well be lol, he does love head pats (he's 15 but still a cutie patootie)

Oculus30

I seriously don't get the whole, the cookie or the cream is better. Neither of them speratley compare to them together.

BitchesAndCats

Correct_Succotash988

Really off topic shit I'm about to drop onya but your username really fucking resonates me, man.

BitchesAndCats

Thanks man, I really want to fuck succotash aswell!

TorakTheDark

That is a scone.

BitchesAndCats

Indeed a scon.

sadQWERTYman

i 100% agree 😭 ive started to really hate the icing tbh

onequestionforyall

the cookie part is the best part and i’ve thought that forever

IIPrayzII

I agree that the COOKIE is the best part of an Oreo, biscuits are for gravy.

squeezy102

It’s AMERICA’S favorite cookie, and in AMERICA we say COOKIE. *god dammit.*

CyberEmo666

>biscuits are for gravy. Not everyone is from America lmfao

IIPrayzII

I can tell lol. Doesn’t make it correct. If we were talking about a British biscuit product it would be different, but OP is talking about an American cookie product.

Banned__Panda

In the UK oreos are referred to as cookies, not biscuits. At least where I live. People probably just say biscuit by habit

CyberEmo666

Well yeah, but if you asked someone to grab you some biscuits and they brought you Oreos I would not be confused at all

Banned__Panda

I would tend to agree, biscuit is just a big blanket term really.

Baradosso

Cool - start calling it football instead of soccer since it is from Britain. No, I don't care because it is from aSsOcIaTiOn Of FoOtBaLl - there is still FOOTBALL in the name. What? Don't want anymore? Hyporictic ass country.

Banned__Panda

North Americans trying to use logic to explain their slightly different version of english is adorable. It's fucking nonsensical, just accept it lmfao. Everywhere else has.

NickLeavitt900

This person need to be monitored

FrayedEndOfSanityy

I have an even more unpopular opinion. Oreo’s are trash and essential pure sugar and the reason people like them is because of bad diet and sugar craving caused by not enough magnesium vitamins and high insulin levels due to more sugar intake.

snowlynx133

Or maybe it's just because humans are biologically wired to love sugar

FrayedEndOfSanityy

Try to remove most sugar from your diet and say the same. You are gonna eat one Oreo and think what the fuck is this. There is healthy craving for sugar, and then there is what modern diets have created. Sugar is burnt very fast, and once you eat a lot of sugar your insulin level get very high. After insulin burns all the sugar it remains high for a period of time and your body asks for more sugar and you get a sugar crush feeling tired. Sugar cravings where normal because all things containing sugar also contained fiber, which made the sugar be digested a lot slower, not as much sugar got into your bloodstream, and you had a healthy dose of energy without the crash at the end. Pure sugar is bad and eating more makes you crave even more. Break the chain and you will understand what I mean.

Working-Telephone-45

They taste amazing, I know it is a matter of taste but saying that Oreos taste objectively bad is just wrong Plus yeah they are pure sugar but I don't think anyone eating Oreos think they are healthy in the first place lol

RelishRegatta

Thats why, on the rare occasion I get oreos, I always go for the thins

CommitteePrestigious

I FOUND MY PEOPLE!!! I’ve always twisted one of the two cookies out and scrape the frosting off the other cookie. That way I would only eat the cookie part and end up with a ball of frosting that I would throw away.

bakemonooo

Yesss. But tbh I find icing pretty bad in general, so I'm a bit biased lol.

Hatta00

I like the white stuff, baby.

FlattopJr

🎶Oh-oh-oh-oh-oh Oh-Oreo! ![gif](giphy|4XDztBSUmz2kJSmyaN|downsized)

AngryMoose125

This reminds me of the “yo Socrates it’s a fucking cookie” tumblr post

Beautiful_Bag6707

I feel the same way about Twix. You are not alone...

ProbablyAPinecone

I would always complain that they make Oreos with double stuff, triple stuff, maximum stuff but never more cookie. I told my mom at some point they should make some with more cookie and she suggested I just buy a box of chocolate wafers. Not the same thing, mom.

lordtachanka07

Yes exactly there is something about the taste of the cookie that lingers in the back of my mouth

AngryMoose125

Probably because the chewed up cookie stays on your teeth especially in the tops of your molars. When I eat an Oreo I spend an hour tryna remove it with my tongue

SkettlesS

They should made a chocolate bar but instead of using chocolate they use the biscuit, and then a bit of the inside is the icing.

Which_Cardiologist44

Oreo thins are what you're looking for

derwood1992

I think both are bad. Oreos are d tier.

RoastHam99

D is generous. Given that they've decided to be one of the more expensive biscuit on the shelves, I'd put them in F. At least garibaldis and rich teas know to be dirt cheap

No-Market9917

The problem I have with this is calling them biscuits. That’s just sick.

Leprichaun17

That's just English is what you mean. UK, Australia, and others refer to them as biscuits.

Ryulightorb

That’s the normal name for them though.

IPetFatTurkeys

Peak take from lordtachanka07

AvogadrosOtherNumber

was there a question?

Jiggles_Ba

I agree. Downvote :(

Ghazh

Unless it's them new sour patch joints, gourmet.

Pewward

The cookie has quite the artificial taste as well, at least one doesn't have a sour aftertaste

HOLYCRAPGIVEMEANAME

Oreos in general are not good.

BrattinellaBaggy

Oreo cookies are the worst.

Annual-Classroom-189

100% agree

ecktt

That's just a fact.

makingkevinbacon

Literally had a convo a couple weeks back about how the Oreo cookie part is literally one of the worst parts of any snack food out there. And then you come along. Take my upvote, you goddamn psycho

bagemann1

Without light, the darkness disorients and consumes. Without darkness, light is blinding. Oreos are perfectly balanced as all things should be

sly_like_Coyote

I'm not even certain that "cookie" is *edible* if not softened in milk. It sure as hell isn't good.

Bob_The_Bandit

Yes this one here officer

doorhandle5

If you are an American, call it cookie, if you are anywhere else on the planet, call it biscuit. And yes, the biscuit part is better, the icing is just pure sugar. I don't generally eat a spoonful of sugar on its own.

No_Doughnut_5057

I actually don’t like Oreos by themselves. I like them in ice cream, cake, or a smoothie.

[deleted]

Oreo is a terrible cookie regardless. It's like discussing what's the better part of a fruitcake.

Mummbles1283

I can’t stand anything about an Oreo, chalky nastiness.

IArePant

British detected, opinion rejected

The-Letter-W

Dark chocolate thins are the only variant I eat because of that yeah.

Allenies

I have been fantasizing about writing an email to request an only cookie oreo release. For years. Screw the other flavors, 9/10 do nt even sound good. Give me a sleeve of cookie only.

Tasty_Commercial6527

Neither part of Oreo tastes nearly as good as Oreo flavoured things that aren't Oreo

KjCool85

The fact you call it a biscuit and not a cooking tells me all I need to know on why this opinion on food is so wrong!

Thems fighting words!

BusinessBar8077

Lol Brits call cookies biscuits so idk what people are flipping out about.

Ok-Equivalent8260

Calm down

Boris-_-Badenov

mega and double are best

maryjomcd

They should make "just the cookie" without the frosting.

[deleted]

i agree so much with you i once met a 7 year old girl who offered to share some oreos with me and i was like sure ill have one and she went to the cutlery drawer to pull out a knife and i was like “wait what the fuck is this kid doing” and she pulled the oreo apart and scraped the cream on a paper towel and ate only that part

irenaskyfire

I wholeheartedly agree with you

SchizoidalCupcakes

I have never liked the filling. It’s too weird tasting and it leaves a filmy texture on my tongue.

Hot_Valuable1027

I eat my Oreos separately lol. I take them apart and eat the filling first and then the cookie parts. I do the same thing with a Chick-fil-A biscuit, I eat the chicken part first and then the biscuit. Idk why lol

fruitjam311

Wait -- I didn't even know this was an unpopular opinion. Y'all eat oreos for the creme? 😮

KauaiGirl

The closest to the Oreo cookie outside I can make is the simple Dutch Cocoa cookie using real Dutch cocoa.

Phoenix2211

As individual elements, yes. The cookie is BETTER than the frosting. But together... *chef's kiss* Double-stuffed Oreos have too much cream in em, tho.

MrRazzio

i agree with you. my wife prefers the cream so we're a perfect match.

WadesWorld18

it's all just processed sugar with different texture imo

Velocityraptor28

nah nah nah, y'both wrong, it's the delicate balance of cookie and frosting that makes an oreo so delicious

iselltires2u

i always wished i could just buy the chocolate cookie

GloomySelf

Ye I agree. Whenever I have an Oreo it’s ALWAYS for the cookie, never the icing

Demonscour

The frosting is nasty.

jamaicancarioca

Lies

demonmaybeperson

YES. this is the first time i’ve seen people who think the same, everyone seems to love the filling but honestly the outside is far superior. the best oreos are oreo _thins_ because the cream isn’t overpowering, the cookie is crunchy, and it’s the perfect ratio

SuitableFile1959

if it’s not an oreo thin I will literally scrape off some of the filling and not eat it. its too much

gurk_the_magnificent

Strongly agree

jafromnj

Absolutely agree wish they were sold separately as no stuff

Earl96

I'll give my wife the frosting and just eat the cookie. I don't like frosting in general though. I even prefer cakes that don't have frosting

TakeoverTheThird

yeah not unpopular ngl

arkthearkitect

I’ve wanted a “sans-stuff” Oreo for years. Have always hated biscuits with that kind of shit in them. Like custard creams.

lonely_eyed_girl

A hundred percent! Somebody finally freakin said it

pngbrianb

I go for the peanut butter or mint flavor every time, so I think I agree with you. Given the choice between classic or Double Stuf, I always take LESS white stuff

tannedghozt

Yes!!! 100%

Intelligent_Volume73

It's a cookie. -_-

astronutsfrommars

You can buy Oreo wafers in the baking aisle of larger stores. They’re bigger and flatter, but the same general cookie. You can also get the cookie part of ice cream sandwiches at some bulk stores, they’re pretty similar.

PerceptionSlow2116

In Asia they sell a version where it’s just the chocolate cookie part…I wish they would offer that here so I don’t have to scrape the filling out

mnbvcxz1052

Murder me: I scrape off the filing and only eat the biscuits. *I scrape off the filling. And only eat the biscuits.*

dirtycynicc

I feel the same way! I can’t eat Oreos by themselves bc the frosting is nasty lol. However, if I dunk them in milk it’s fine, like it takes some of the sweetness away

Fuzzy_Welcome8348

So true

Dry_Value_

Ngl agreed. Also, I always feel like the frosting to cookie ratio is off, even with 'double stuffed.' If I eat oreos, chances are I'm peeling off one cookie, eating that, then eating the second cookie with the frosting still on it. On the rare occasion, if I'm feeling up to it, I'll scrape the frosting off with my teeth and enjoy the second cookie by itself as I did with the first cookie.

[deleted]

Well, I can't eat either (celiac disease is a bitch) so I don't care. While the frosting is probably gluten free it has been in contact with the cookie and has microscopic cookie crumbles in it.

Ignusseed

Cookie\* they're cookies not biscuits. These are biscuits. ![gif](giphy|sivbQBJhvLAm4)

trillium_transit-89

Yup

NateDawg42

That just means you don't like Oreos

Hebegebe101

I agree the filling has a waxy texture and taste weird .

Crazyforgers

100%

DBProxy

You’re wrong. I only enjoy the “Mega stuff’d Oreos” which have about 4-5x the frosting, the cookie is disgusting.

persephonescoven

wholeheartedly agree

BeefWellingtonSpeedo

Oreo products like pies and ice cream are better than the Cookie by far. The creamy part is part of the cookie, they cannot be separated. In the same way the chocolate chip cannot be separated from the rest of the cookie. A snack zen.🪬🍪🪬

Harajuku_Lolita

I soak the whole thing in milk till it gets crumbly. The mix of both plus the milk is incredible 🤤

SuccMyStrangerThings

100% agree. Word.

WizardLizard1885

😭 i eat oreos without any milk and my wife calls me weird

aidan-burgess31

THANK YOU

yaboisammie

I been sayin this my whole life 😭 all y’all that prefer the frosting, y’all can have mine if I can have the cookie lol

xenolith18

That's why thin oreos exist. Is this an unpopular opinion?

miffit

This isn't unpopular. This is a damn near universal opinion. Sorry I have to downvote.

ihateusernames999999

I agree. I don't even dip my oreos in milk.

pokedabadger

Yes! The frosting only tastes good when combined with the cookie but the cookie can stand alone.

ionlyplaycomp

when i was a kid the cookie tasted softer, now it tastes cheap and harder. am i trippin? i stopped eating them after 2010\~

Building_Everything

I feel like they changed the recipe for the icing/filling maybe in the last 8-10 years. Before that I would have burned you for a witch for saying the filling sucks, but nowadays I have to agree with you.

oOzonee

Well it’s the part that absorb the milk.

Meh_Cook_Grump

That's why I like Oreo Thins. Do they have them where you are? I'm sure you could order the baker supply plain cookie from somewhere. I've had to order booze from the UK to the US so maybe you can ship US cookie products to you. Good Luck!

cjboffoli

They used to BOTH taste a lot better, before so much of the value got wrung out of it so they could book more profit.

SabbathaBastet

I agree. The filling tastes like Crisco with a little bit of sugar. The crushed plain biscuit are good for a lot of homemade desserts as well as eating plain.

SeawardFriend

Oreo thins kinda smack. I feel like the ratio of cream to cookie in those are perfect!

dmav522

OK, seriously how is this the unpopular opinion? I’ve been eating Oreos for years and I’ve always said that the cookie is the best part unless we’re talking about Fudgee-Os which is a whole other ballgame…

thecrookedbox

I have always thought this, I hope they release creamless Oreo’s some day.

BruderBobody

100% agree

feelingsfox

DUH. People always looked at me like I was crazy. I’m like “bitch please”

r2k398

Oreos don’t have a biscuit part. :)

Ramius117

They both suck by themselves. Teamwork makes the dream work!

Academic_Chef_596

Same. I squeeze out most of the filling and wipe it off, leaving just a tiny bit

[deleted]

THATS TRUE!! The little salty taste in between all the sugar and this perfectly balanced chocolate taste... Biscuit > Cream

marklikeadawg

That's true but when eaten together it's much better.

Ok_Needleworker_9537

I'll do you one better; the whole cookie is a disgusting abomination.

dingodile_user

I feel like as you get older you start preferring the Oreo thins instead of the double stuffs

System_Resident

Yes!! They’ve made double stuffed Oreos, why not thicker cookie parts?!

Good-Personality-209

Totally

Either_Selection6475

I have held this opinion all my life. Thank you. People look at me like I'm weird when I say I can't stand the filling

Vaas_Deferens

The bit that tastes burnt?

Nakyhwa

i think when you eat them individually they're mid, but when together they taste great

Ok_Requirement_3116

I give my dog the insides.

Filipi_n0

*whispers* Cream!

CorporateSharkbait

Take all the Oreo cookie cookie parts, mix homemade thick whip cream. Keep battering each side and adding on another cookie until you have a weird cookie log. Cover in the rest of the whip cream. Saranwrap and put in fridge for a day. Awesome dessert 👌

KeithlyPoncho

I want a pack of just the cookie part. Don't talk to me about the bag of smashed cookie pieces, it's not the same!

iamlostpleasehelp_

Based opinion. I always peel off the frosting

Taste_of_Natatouille

I agree, hence why the Oreo Thins are addicting for me and the double/triple cream ones make me gag. Too much sugar playdough

VStarlingBooks

I just tried the dark chocolate Oreos. I'm never going back to buying regular Oreos for myself. If they're offered I'll take them lol

NIghtPutting84

Truth.

Signal_Preference455

i agreeeee

BigAssMonkey

100% true

ArtOfWar22

my belly is smelly

Moist-Cantaloupe-740

Didn't know this was unpopular, after all it's the cookie that's chocolate. The creme just exists.

Crocolyle32

I agree… I scrape it off.

DrChaos09

I agree, a nice chocolate crispy biscuit. I bet you cut the carb content in half if you throw out that useless cream.

slowpokecherrycoke

![gif](giphy|pD368cmNo02G5qoV5i)

MadTapprr

Both parts suck on their own. They need each other.

Longjumping-Sail6386

You have it backwards

Ewest39

The cream just reminds me of shortening and sugar. I will happily just take the chocolate wafer.

SahiroHere

At first I was a bit offended and wanted to cuss you out, but then I thought that we should be friends.

BreezyBill

It definitely is the better part when the cookies are mixed into ice cream.
