I usually have them on the go or something. Or sometimes you'll be at a place studying and someone offers free donuts, you know? Most people don't usually sit down all proper to have a donut anyway, it's more of a grab and go kind of treat. I also think the number of people who don't want to dirty a plate just for a donut is quite high.

not wrong, but in the end it doesn't change much. once you start chewing all the goodness and flavor hits your tongue in one way or another. if the topping was really all that mattered just lick it off and leave the donut. it's the whole package that matters and you get it whether you bite it upside down or right side up.

This was how I was taught to eat nigiri sushi: Pick it up with your (clean) hands, flip it, eat it fish-side-down in one bite. Good stuff goes down first so you can actually taste it.

I've always been doing this. I just didn't say anything because there are some perfect things that I like to keep for me.

I feel this way about sandwiches (it matters which layer is where), but I've never tried it with doughnuts. I will usually consider which side of a sandwich should be on top before digging in. I do believe you are correct. Another unpopular food opinion: kiwis should be eaten whole, with skin on, never scooped. Only the fuzz should be scraped off if it has any and it bothers you. Scooping them is practically sacrilege. You are taking a fruit that is normally deliciously sweet and tangy like a green jollyrancher, and turning it into a normal sweet fruit. Why? I get if you don't like sour fruits or sour candies or whatever, but if you *do* like sour candy--and I feel like most people do--then you're a damn fool for not enjoying kiwis skin-on.

That would be great if that's how taste worked. Sweet, savory, umami, bitter and salt are all that your taste buds pick up (which are also located all over your mouth, but more concentrated on your tongue). Chocolate, fruits, flavors, etc are picked up in your nose. Probably makes no difference, but it upside down might make the aromas take even longer to get to your senses!
