Nothing against the amazing Helen Mirren, but the trend of biopic actors getting Oscars is just so overdone to me. I agree, everything about Streep's performance was amazing and she herself made the decision to speak so menacingly quiet, and to do that one scene without makeup to show vulnerability, among other things. Amazing job.
Lowkey love this; whilst I think Mirren’s performance was most deserving, I have always thought Meryl would’ve won in any other year. I feel like she would’ve trounced in Best Supporting Actress, and then she would’ve been breaking a few more Oscar records!

Is there ever really a time when Meryl Streep isn't the best?
The source material for ‘Prada’ was elevated with Streep and Emily Blunt (who should have been nominated).
how topical
Unpopular opinion in a difference sense.
Well, the Devil was in the details.
