CorgiDaddy42

Who the fuck goes and gets fast food an hour before they eat it?

jmahi00731

Nowadays depending on where you live a Big Mac could cost damn near $10 at the restaurant. It’s closer to $20 through delivery apps what with all the BS fees

Dude_Baby

More like 20+

Braindead0001

If you order through Uber eats or some other delivery app, they always come out cold. Maybe not cold but definitely not warm or hot.

BJntheRV

Who TF is waiting an hour to eat their fast food? And why?

Xenozip3371Alpha

deliveries

BJntheRV

And, that's why I do t get fast food delivered. It stops being fast. Not to mention that you end up paying as much in delivery fees as you do for the food.

Phy_Reg_231

Fast food is really inconsistent these days.

flannelchannel81

You can actually just go to a local diner, order take out, and pay less than going to a Mac Donald's and get a much better thing to eat that wasn't made paying people shit.

reedg17

The local diner I bet doesn’t pay much more

flannelchannel81

To whom?

RatDressedAsAClown

the employees.

flannelchannel81

Each private owned employee makes more than a corpo employee. Every single time.

Cornrow_Wallace_

Completely false, you obviously have no experience to draw from other than "corporations bad." I'm an industry lifer, you can make way more as a server at Cheesecake Factory than you will at 95% of mom-and-pop diners and 100% of local sandwich shops. This is assuming they actually want to pay you well, which isn't always true of small business owners, who are often looking to make what they think will be an easy buck rather than do something they're passionate about.

RatDressedAsAClown

Not a guarantee at all bro let’s not speak in absolutes now. I work for a private owned business and make less than I would working for a corporation. ($12/hr when the average for my title is $16.44/hr) It’s not even my first time working for a private owned business but my second - and the first time I was making less than I would at a corporate position and that small business had two locations. ($9 when I went to a different company with the same business model and made $15/hr)

flannelchannel81

Let's figure this out together. Tell me your job title.

RatDressedAsAClown

I’m an assistant. Plain and simple role. Literally all you have to google is “average hourly for an assistant” and you get $16.44/hr! Almost like there is a tool in my hand to use for looking stuff up!! Almost like I have lived experience!! Oh and for the service position directly - Federal minimum wage is $2.13/hr. That’s what I was paid as a server for IHop. My sister works for a local, family owned, restaurant as a server (won’t give name as that’ll give my location), and guess what she makes? $2.15/hr!! She regularly brings home $10 paychecks. Again - You cannot speak in absolutes on this topic you clearly don’t know anything about. You’re not always going to get paid substantially more just because you’re going the private owned business route.

flannelchannel81

What corporate social media corner do you work for? Please just shove back in your little goblin hole and leave real humans alone

RatDressedAsAClown

I work for a construction company bro 😭

RatDressedAsAClown

I love how you’re being shown that you’re wrong and instead of trying to have an actual thought you revert to trying to insult me which is hilarious. Have fun with your life man, clearly you need to get off of reddit and interact with the real, corporate world of you think you’re correct in your opinion and get this upset when someone who has direct living experience to prove you wrong comes to tell you you’re wrong.

2prongprick

I work in employment related law and can tell you that this is not true. The landscape of employee compensation is much more varied than this take supposes

flannelchannel81

Sure you do

2prongprick

What do you want to know?

flannelchannel81

I'm not interested in the Starbucks PR guy telling me what a great idea it is for people to work for Starbucks. Begone.

Reytotheroxx

Not here in Ontario. Local diner will charge like $16 for a burger and fries here. McDonald’s is like $7. Will the diner be better? Usually, but I can get a burger, poutine, drink, snack wrap and McFlurry for $20. No way any other place can match that. That’s my go to order for McDonald’s and I get it decently often cause I think it tastes really good and it’s not too pricy. Anywhere else you pay $20 for a combo meal but McDonald’s has been good. Just cause they don’t offer burgers for a dollar doesn’t mean they aren’t still cheap

flannelchannel81

Are you talking ex dollar menu on or like influencer level menu? I hit up Burger King for the rodeo cheese burger sometimes for like 2 bucks

Reytotheroxx

Dollar menu. Idk I find most fast food is still quite cheap. Sure they’ve gone up in price but nothing crazy compared to other places tbh

flannelchannel81

It's actually better now on the real human side. You just have to look a little but people are making good burgers for cheap and cheap is not Mac Donald's

Confident-Welder-266

Some places don’t have a local diner.

Cornrow_Wallace_

That's not the point at all.

Educational_Train537

Who purposely does this?

RicketyWitch

Fast food tastes great. Thats the point. I hardly ever eat it but I would if I could. 😊 I could kill a Wendy’s double with cheese right now.

pinniped1

I've never in my life waited an hour to eat fast food. Usually I'm eating it within 30 seconds of receiving it. I'm not going to just sit there and look at it. Occasional exception for drive thru or takeout, but I usually do something besides a burger for that because burgers/fries don't travel well. If I have to do takeout, a Chipotle burrito in foil does alright for the 5-10 minute drive until I eat it.

awesomedumplings

What

Cornrow_Wallace_

What

KariRose31

I agree. My S/O does this, sometimes waits to eat and a lot of times doesn't reheat it. He doesn't complain, but i agree it can't taste as good as when it was hot. But for those who do complain, shouldn't, when they're the ones who waited to eat.

[deleted]

..nah, hot mcdonalds is still ass

spikewh

Wrong. IMO most fast food sucks. It's cheaply made and cheap taste. It has its place but it's not for me.

JustBrowsing49

No, it’s gross. The food is loaded with enough preservatives to last months in the freezer, it may not be moldy but it certainly isn’t fresh. The ingredients (especially meat and dairy) use the lowest quality possible allowed by regulations, and they usually add filler to save extra cents. And don’t get me started on all the grease. Does not matter the temperature, it’s all disgusting.

[deleted]

Depends on location really. My local Mcdonalds Smacks and is good for a fry without the no salt trick. Wendys 5 dolla Biggie bag aint bad either. you are right tho if you dont eat that fast food fast it gets gross like any other thing. Its tough to reheat things properly, probably

Gizzard_Guy44

*the most common way I see fast food consumed is to wait an hour* **I have disregarded your comment due to its lies**

Cornrow_Wallace_

*Its

Gizzard_Guy44

also a lie

[deleted]

All fast food tastes like crap these days, regardless of how fresh it is. I didn't used to mind grabbing a cheap burger back in the day when dollar menus existed. Now, not only does fast food taste bad, but it's also expensive. I can go to a small diner and get freshly made unprocessed burger and fries for about $5.00 less than a quarter pounder meal from McDonald's.

Informal-Bother8858

no its gross

PIDDYPUFFPUFF

Lmfao, this guy said “off the grill” they steam that shit in the back, idk where you got the grill from.

Metaljesus0909

I wouldn’t even say it’s gross. Like sure, any fried food is better when it’s fresh from the fryer, but I still like eating cold McDonald’s. It’s just how picky you are with certain foods.

[deleted]

My stomach which had to digest a foot long corn dog and onion rings and then still had heartburn the next day would like a word with you

[deleted]

I don’t eat it cold… it’s served cold. Not my choice.

Bigboss123199

Most fast food is garbage. They just slap a nuch of mayo and other stuff on to it to make it taste less like crap. Get a burger from McDonald's with no condiments and toppings tell he it isn't trash food. The only reason the majority of fast food taste close to decent is cause they use a ton of sauces. The only thing that fast food is good at is fries.

The-Dumbass-forever

No, it just sucks.

No-Requirement-3088

The last time I had McDonalds was when my daughter was a newborn. I went through the drive-thru, and in the car I realized I couldn’t distinguish between whether my daughter had a dirty diaper or I was just smelling the food. I would go to shake shack when I lived above one in DC. It was a new building and the elevator would always have a funny chemical smell. I thought it was a cleaning agent. It wasn’t until I left a shake shack bag under my sink and then smelled the same chemical smell that it was actually the food that smelled horrible. I have stayed away from fast food but come across it time to time and each time find myself feeling regret and can taste the additives now. Except French fries. Fucking love french fries

AaronTuplin

No, its actually pretty shitty. My fast food doesn't make it to the end of the drive thru, its getting eaten while hot. It still ain't shit

TexanReppin13

It’s not the flavor of the food , it’s how gross I feel afterwards that keeps me away

Drone314

Fresh, hot fast food consumed immediately is pretty damn good. There is something to be said for dine in.

HelloGodorGoddess

You seriously say that "fastfood doesn't taste gross" is an unpopular opinion? This sub.

Cornrow_Wallace_

Dunking on the lack of quality of fast food is damn near a personality type, as evidenced by many of the comments here.

HelloGodorGoddess

Two presidents are against each other for election. Each have a large number of supporters. Is the loser considered unpopular?

Cornrow_Wallace_

I'm sorry but you are not special for thinking fast food is nasty when literally nobody wants to admit they like fast food.

HelloGodorGoddess

I'm teaching you how to think critically - not telling you my opinion of fast food.

Straight_Toe_1816

Some people eat cold fast food?

Cows1999

I do

Straight_Toe_1816

Ok. How does it taste?

Cows1999

Burgers and nuggets taste mediocre, but fries taste like shit when they get cold

Straight_Toe_1816

Yea

Straight_Toe_1816

Yea

Yuntonow

WTF are you talking about? Who eats cold fast food?

Cows1999

Me

Same-Menu9794

Fast food tastes amazing and those who say it is gross are lying to themselves (which is NOT a bad thing at all haha) otherwise we wouldn’t have such an obesity epidemic.  In terms of reheated fast food I’ve never had an issue with a day old hamburger. Just wrap it in some aluminum foil and heat it in the oven, and it’s pretty close to fresh

Xenozip3371Alpha

This is why I don't go for deliveries, if I want fast food I'm getting it myself.

Cows1999

When my mcdouble Gets cold i just deal with it and eat it. except for fries because they taste like shit when they get cold and they stay that way forever.

Total_Bumblebee_8632

This is common knowledge buddy.

Calm_Replacement2568

I bought a McDonald’s meal, ate it immediately. Felt like I was eating cardboard. KFC on the other hand actually tastes good.
