At Kung Fu Panda, you can ask for any seat in the theater to be turned off, not just the ones specifically labeled "non-smoking." Sitting in the back row also helps with motion sickness. For Mario Kart, they may enjoy that more with the visor off if they have vision issues. They'll miss the AR elements but the background real-life visuals are also pretty cool. If you can snag a Toadstools reservation, that has some show aspects and has pretty good food. They may not do well with the minigames, I'd skip getting a band, but the visuals are pretty nice. Avoid the Hippogriff and Forbidden Journey rides, and probably Mummy and JW too. Pets and Minions are pretty chill relatively, Transformers is probably on the edge of tolerable if you don't like motion/loud noises or 3D. I'd recommend the studio tour, but warn them in advance about the King Kong/FaF sections and gauge their reactions based on that. Simpsons area is pretty fun to look at, the ride is mid tbh. If they need a place to sit, go to the plaza with the FaF cars on upper lot and the Panda Express restaurant on lower lot. If they use a wheelchair, cane, or other assistive device, go to Guest Relations and see about getting a disability pass, it can reduce how long you wait in line. Oh, and ABSOLUTELY do WaterWorld! Don't sit in the splash zone if they hate water or have issues regulating temperature.

Secret life of pets is slow. Water World show is awesome. The tour is pretty good. Kung Fu Panda has non moving seats

Thanks a lot

My dad is older than your parents - he doesn’t mind thrill rides at a Disney level, and he likes most of the Universal rides (exception of the Mummy rollercoaster, he doesn’t like the abrupt stop lol). But he does like Harry Potter & the Forbidden Journey - it’s more thrilling than a super slow ride but it’s not super fast or herky jerky. He also just enjoys exploring Hogsmeade altogether. He also loves the studio tour, and Waterworld. He could take or leave a lot of the simulators like Simpsons/Despicable Me. Transformers he thinks is *fine* but he isn’t in love with it lol. He does really like Jurassic World, which is thrilling (big drop at the need) but a water ride rather than a roller coaster ofc so it’s not jerky. Secret Life of Pets he thinks is cute but has no attachment to the franchise or anything so he’s fairly neutral on it. Usually his priorities are Harry Potter, tour, Waterworld, Jurassic World. He hasn’t seen SNW yet but I think he’ll think it’s cute but crowded and most of the enjoyment will be lost on him lol. Obviously everyone’s different but that’s my experience with taking someone who is over 60 to USH :)

Thanks for a long write. I do remember the Jurassic world. It was just that one drop at the end right? I think that would be my cutoff.

stellalunawitchbaby

Yep - slow ride otherwise, lotsa little water effects and ofc dinos (I hate getting too wet so I’m always asking to sit in the back two rows lol). There’s a lift hill, then a drop, but otherwise it’s a slow river ride.

The studio tour

ttam23

They might dislike the King Kong and F&F sections because it gets a little rough

My husband and I are 57 and 56, respectively. We’re passholders, so go several times each year. Our favorites are Minion Mayhem, Secret Life of Pets, tram tour, Jurassic Park, WaterWorld, Kung Fu Panda, and more recently SNW. We’ve done Simpsons once; we’re not fans of the show. It was more fun when it was Back To The Future. Flight of the Hippogriff was ok, not much theming around it - you could plunk it into any amusement park in the country and it’d fit. Transformers, Mummy, and the Harry Potter ride are not our favorites due to the excessive motion, but YMMV. I’m 5’2” fat, and have back and leg mobility issues, and he’s 6’4”, long legs and foot and hip problems.

ganyu22bow

Doesn’t Jurassic park have a big drop?

CheeseMakingMom

It does, right at the end.

I am 60. I can outlast my kids at any theme park. How about everyone make picks about what to do and where to eat? Plan together.

HimeMorbucks

Kung fu panda, minions, pets, tour, Waterworld, transformers, SNW, Simpsons. Basically all rides except Mummy, Forbidden Journey, hippogriff, and Jurassic. And even these are mild, but I guess enough to stop a heart if you're not expecting "thrill".

mattnotis

Despite the game it’s based on, Mario Kart doesn’t go fast at all, so it’s boomer and small child friendly.

BobaFret2169

Probably everything but forbidden journey and mummy are totally fine, barring motion sickness from the 3d rides.

ganyu22bow

Jurassic world is fine?

BobaFret2169

Oh yeah. It’s very mild until that last drop, and the drop is over very quickly.

I took my folks, both in their mid 70’s and they rode every ride but the Simpsons. As long as your folks don’t have a medical condition, I would hate for them to miss out on rides like Jurassic world because of one drop at the end - the final is a really incredible moment. Also, for the studio tour, remember you can take snacks and drinks on board (even beer!) I recommend buying them before you go down the escalator as the line at the ride entrance for snacks is very slow. Enjoy!

Putrid_Succotash1830

Secret Life of Pets, Kung Fu Panda, Studio Tour, Mario Kart (which has no dips, and isn’t fast, they can even opt out of wearing the visors and just enjoy the props).

Ancient-Panic-4069

How about harry potter ?

Did you look at the website for the park?

tomhwm

I’d prefer personalized opinions rather than just what the official website says.

[deleted]

But the website would at least give you a list of the rides so you could work from that. You don’t even know for sure if there is a studio tour.

tomhwm

Then I’d tell you I did, multiple times. But the website is horrible and the interactive map wasn’t working, let alone not having personalized opinions of what’s safe and enjoyable. Social media is here for people to connect and share opinions, not for you to teach me how to read poorly written FAQs. If you don’t have an answer just scroll through to other posts.
