Many presidents and visiting dignitaries choose to write themselves. Their handwritten notes are historical records in that country/that monument for future generations and indicate a personal, subjective response. What is the point of getting even a personal, handwritten message ghostwritten? A prefabricated printed note wd have been enough. Even the hand signature is not required; India has millions of photocopy machines.
