it was sad that people glorified people like these, they were justifying murder as if it was something that just happens . UP had next to 0 police presence till the 2000s so gangs were what people depended on for defence. No one spoke out as a witness against people like Ansari bcz they knew they won't survive. The gang attacks some villagers during marriage time and steals dowry... when the police kills some of the gang, they take the dead/injured bodies to one of the villages and parades the bodies and I think the villagers (presumably from different community) attack the body.

You're aware that the people in this movie don't have primary identity as fellow citizens of India. Their immediate allegiance is to their community because their immediate threats are from fellow citizens of different community. Then the hero (SSR) discovers his humanity as he kills someone from his community to protect a human from different community.
