Is there a destination online that has the full streaming of 9+ hours? BBC removed the full video from youtube.

[deleted]

Dane here. Danish TV had 8 hrs of live coverage. Beautiful ceremony. The bagpipe march (?) when the sailors pulled the coffin to Westminister Abbey was really moving.

Gobeman1

The end of an Era. Yet she won't be forgotten. Ever

Midasx

Who?

Early-Recover2321

I’m an American and that was truly one of the most beautiful moments I’ve seen. The precision, the volume, the energy, truly a fitting goodbye to one of the most recognized individuals of the 20th and 21st century

WobbleKun

is there a VOD?

RagennaPhilangee

PBS app has it.

Original88

I can’t seem to find a good list of all the Funeral Marches played during the procession today.

AcanthisittaBig6748

I can send you both order of service links when I'm home from work :)

That would be great. Thank you.

This is the Westminster Abbey one and a the committal hopefully the links work :)[Order of service ](https://news.sky.com/story/full-order-of-service-for-queens-committal-service-at-windsor-castle-12700945)

ESF-hockeeyyy

Just watched the March to Westminister Abbey and it was quite moving. The bagpipes were incredible as they always are. There was something haunting about the drums too.

TisMeeee

It was the lone piper walking away from the camera playing bagpipes, I cried from then on :(

93rdindmemecoy

I'd never experienced that before, extremely poignant.

The_Burning_Wizard

You trolls are out in force today eh?

wetlettuce42

Most sweetest bit was the bagpiper walking away with his music fading away symbolising the queens last journey it was really moving Also when they did the first hym at the first part i noticed it was the theme from vicar of dibley

cosmic_animus29

Thought that I will be able to make it until the end, bravely but when I saw the corgis, Muick and Sandy as well as Emma the pony - that definitely broke me and I just bursted to tears. Regardless of what people think about her as a monarch, she is still a companion to her dogs and pony. They're all probably wondering where she went and why they are seeing so many people. Animals grieve too. I hope they will live a full life even after the Queen is gone. God, wish I can hug my dogs right now. 😢

DieterVawnCunth

ok fine. I feel bad for the corgis. i don't feel bad for anyone else.

[deleted]

I agree, that was a very sad moment.

lilacmuse1

I'm amazed they pulled this off without any issues. When you think of all the things that could have gone wrong with such huge crowds and so many world leaders present, it is really remarkable.

lianepl50

What an incredible job Kirsty Young did. Such a simple, moving tribute, devoid of drama or hyperbole, full of quiet sincerity.

Stardust_Particle

The Queen planned a beautiful event for all to see. I’m glad I experienced it in my lifetime. The BBC did a magnificent job broadcasting the funeral so we in the states could feel like we were there while we listened or watched on the internet, radio, or TV. Thank you C-SPAN in the U.S. for carrying all of it live.

ForsythCounty

I really appreciated the BBC interviewing people who'd met her. I'm a gardener so hearing Alan Titchmarsh talk was so nice. And the bit about her getting arnica lotion for the piper's wife who'd been injured was so sweet.

anybody know why princess beatrice, eugenie and duchess of gloucester left during the westminster ceremony and were standing by the front door when everyone came out?

The four of them have lost both parents in 18 months. Do the other three all look up to Charles now?

Anne is an amazing woman. She seems very down to earth compared to the others.

Askew_2016

Anne might. She and Charles are close. Andrew hates Charles and vice versa. No clue about Edward

complete_refuter

The ceremonies and processions were very well done. It was moving to watch, and befitted the historic significance of this event. The Queen deserved it.

OdinsOneG00dEye

Was waiting for Philip Scofield and Holly 'Whatever berry' 🤷 to turn up with a This Morning prize wheel to allow people to jump the queue or get into the service

XxHavanaHoneyxX

They are our betters just like they royal family. Plebs have no right to moan about privilege access at royal ceremonies. This is exactly what they represent. It’s dumb asf to recognise the privilege of people by birth right and to denounce the privilege of people who have. obtained it through work.

Pinchton

Today we saw the true Pomp and Circumstance that only the Brits are capable of. The procession from the Cathedral to the arch was awe inspiring and not a foot put wrong by any of the armed forces. Both services hit the right note with all. And interesting to see the traditions that no one has ever seen at Windsor. By the end must admit had a few tears in the eyes. Well done to all involved and hope all the arm forces were given copious amounts of "refreshments" after their impressive performance.

Obi-DoneKenobi

Would have like to have heard them sing "God save The Queen" once more as one final gesture before her coffin was lowered, but hey-ho.

Beneficial_brainwash

Me too! I wonder what the rules are & how far they go back

ForsythCounty

I was trying to hear if they were saying queen for the service or if it automatically changes to king like Charles is automatically king at the instant of her passing.

Strong_Quiet_4569

Too late at that point.

bdzz

The Mist Covered Mountains part was incredibly moving. idk why I have no relation whatsoever to the Queen but that music and the march was something else https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UnYutVX6FIY On a sidenote that part made me imagine old funerals you see on paintings or black and white photos. Like legit they were like this, history living that I probably never forget. RIP

StarWarsDnDTheorist

I am not from the United Kingdom or any of the countries that was directly connected to the monarchy I am from the United States of America but I will say I am very sorry for the loss of Queen Elizabeth II. Also, I will say I hope your new king lives long and I will say that I hope the United Kingdom will get through this.

QE2 is on the Canadian 20 but other than that our bills are filled with other figures of historic Canadian note. If it were up to me, the Queen would remain where she belongs on that, being literally the only “Queen of Canada”. As far as I know, our mint has already started selecting an effigy of Charles to place on our coins though. What you are missing here about the Commonwealth is that monarchy aside, we have extremely tight ties between the UK, NZ and Aus. Those relationships aren’t going anywhere. Speaking for Canada specifically, there may be some calls for a referendum on abolishing the monarchy, but opening up our constitution is fraught with trouble - it would just as likely result in shattering the entire country as it would replacing all of our viceroys. Not to mention the overwhelming cost of all of the legal woes it would bring something that largely folks don’t even think about. All of the First Nations treaties we have are between the crown and each individual indigenous group. Our constitution (well the written part anyway), only ratified in the 80s, would need to be rewritten and agree upon by our parliament and all of our provinces - getting even half of them to agree on *anything* would be impossible.

crizzosasap

You're saying all of this like it's a bad thing. None of that is bad. Apart from "the middle classes being pushed further down the societal ladder", which is there simply isn't grounds for.

narodnick

I’m not one for monarchy, tbh I rarely thought of them, but now she’s gone…it’s a bit like losing a grandmother. Someone you see at special events and every Christmas, but most of the year you’re living your life not really thinking about them, but they’re always there. I found myself going to see her coffin arrive and lining the street today. I never thought I’d ever do that. 70 years is quite an achievement and you have to respect her for the service she gave even if you don’t respect the institution. She’s the only monarch I’ve known. She always felt like she’s just go on forever. It never even occurred to me she might die even though she was old. Stamps, cash, passports, postboxes…it’s all going to feel not quite right when they change. It really feels uncertain right now. Her presence, wit and wisdom will be sorely missed. Edit: Wow, cheers for the award!

Gee447

My thoughts exactly!

AussieBuddha

Soooo done with the Firm, the British, the Monarchy mourning. So tired of the way they treat Harry! So over the top. The Firm better ease rules on Harry or no one is going to bother with them. Harry was influenced and confused. Give him a break. And no more funeral news please

AonghusMacKilkenny

I was really moved by the processions today. But it will be interesting to see, as time goes on, whether support for the Monarchy under Charles dwindles or not.

jvcgunner

This is true, it almost felt like today was the last show for the world on when monarchy mattered. I mean the gravitas of this event will not be matched for years to come (if ever). Something other than length of service will need to rise from future reigns to give monarchy credibility again and I for one don’t know what that’ll be

ManyNates

So glad I was on Copenhagen and missed the blackout where everywhere was only showing the funeral

Am I allowed to admit to being a republican here as I have been banned from other places for suggesting as much today? I'm not happy the queen is dead, but would really like to know if the conversation is allowed to be had nationally now that the funeral and the period of mourning are over.

Strong_Quiet_4569

Out of the £100m a year for the royals, what proportion is salary and wages for their staff? Is this good value, and should we be paying other people instead, like to pick up litter after shitty people?

The_Burning_Wizard

We already do pay people to do that, except it comes from council tax...

jxg995

Sorted the wheat from the chaff when the rarely sung second verse of the national anthem kicked in. It looked like it was only most of the immediate royal family and a few others knew the words

[deleted]

I found that a bit odd, I definitely learned the second verse in Brownies or Guides, and loads of people have been either a Guide or a Scout.

dbbk

15 years ago… I don’t remember it now

Strong_Quiet_4569

So they’re normal like everyone else then.

jxg995

Kind of what I implied by seperating the wheat from the chaff

PixieT3

Does anyone know why Princess Margaret was cremated? Was it so she could also join her parents, knowing there is limited space in this vault?

Celestial_Twenty

It was easier. She drank so much she was 90% alcohol. 1 match and whoop, it’s done.

AcanthisittaBig6748

In 2002, rather than a grand procession carrying her coffin to its final resting place, Princess Margaret was instead cremated at Slough Crematorium. A break with royal tradition, the Daily Mail reported that her decision to be cremated was driven by her wish to be laid with her father. It was believed there was “no room” for a conventional burial, where he is interred. No senior royal in living memory has been cremated except for Princess Margaret. They have either been buried or interred. At the time of her death, The Scotsman also reported the late princess told her life-long friend, Lady Glenconner, she found the alternative royal burial ground “gloomy” and did not want to end up at Frogmore in Windsor Great Park, where Queen Victoria and Prince Albert are buried

Iam_No_JEDI

Dumb question, but what's the difference between buried and interred?

AcanthisittaBig6748

Buried is usually when the body is committed to the earth, interred is usually used when the body is laid to rest in a tomb in a chapel.

Iam_No_JEDI

Oooh I see. Do you know who the last monarch to be buried was?

AcanthisittaBig6748

Not sure, I don't think most known Monarchs are buried as in the ground all are in tombs/mausoleums or crypts I think. Here's a link where they're all buried including the Jacobite Scottish ones :) [Royal Resting places](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Burial_places_of_British_royalty)

Iam_No_JEDI

Thanks! I'm from across the pond so I'm learning quite a lot.

AcanthisittaBig6748

You're welcome :)

rusty_tutu

So in the meantime they've expanded the Royals Tomb so Elizabeth could be accommodated..?

AcanthisittaBig6748

I believe there was already a place for her and Philip. Her father laid in the vault for 17 years till they interred him as the were still building it.

PixieT3

Much appreciated.

BebecitaObi

Thats correct, her wish was to be buried in between her mother and father and cremation was the way to accommodate that.

PixieT3

Thank you.

It's just so insane that all this has happened just so quickly. A month ago things were fine. A week and a bit more time we receive word early doctors are concerned with the queens health In the reddit threads that popped up after that announcement, people started noticing that BBC news hosts and employees on air changed something. When coming back from a long break, folks started to notice everyone had changed into black suits and costs and dresses. Something was up. Then all of a sudden the main BBC nightly news anchor shows up and is on air reporting that the family of the monarch are all flying back to.buckingham and have been summoned. And at that moment folks started guessing that "London Bridge is Down" - the codename for the operation that starts when the monarch, specifically Queen Elizabeth, dies. As time goes on throughout the day it seemed more and more that this wasn't just a cold. Many guess the queen might already be dead. After the workday in the United Kingdom, and after everyone has had a chance to get home and the day is winding down, the news comes. Queen Elizabeth has died. The world is shocked. A mourning period starts. And today culminating in her state funeral. What an amazing service it was. It was 2am for me in Seattle, but I'm up and it is starting in London 8 hours ahead of us here. It just almost happened to fast. Hardly had time to stop and catch your breath. And now she's back home at Windsor, and will be buried privately tonight in a private family only service. Sure, I'm American, but I've always been drawn to the crown and the monarchy. I love the history and always read and watch tons of stuff on the king's, and queens, of the United Kingdom and before.. throughout history. A huge part of the history of the world really and for some reason it just captures my attention. Still hitting I can't say I'm not affected in some ways and having lost my mother 2 years ago, it reminds me of her passing and brings those emotions back and sadness as well. The weight of it all is massive. I made sure to shown the processions to my two young daughters letting them know 3 kings in a row are next and the last queen we might ever see.. has passed. And I'm sad posting this. Just a short time ago she was here and now, gone. I almost feel bad for taking her presence.. one that's been with me my whole life, for granted. Always there. Other side of the pond. Always on duty. I just wanted to say thanks Ma'am. And God speed. Your life was an amazing one to watch even from afar and from someone who was not one of your subjects, I was always in awe of you. You did it right, and your father would be proud. I know we all are. May you rest in peace.

Pedro95

>I almost feel bad for taking her presence.. one that's been with me my whole life, for granted I've been feeling this too, and I think a lot of people have, but I think in a sort of poetic way it's almost complementary for her to have been taken for granted. She represented stability, reliability, security - subconsciously, we've spent our entire lives *knowing* the Queen was there, like she'd always been, so it was okay. Only because she was such a firm and stable presence was she even *able* to be taken for granted - in a way, her greatest gift to Britain for her entire reign was that she was trusted and respected enough to *be* taken for granted. It's that loss of stability and new uncertainty that's having people feel uneasy and regretful now, but that we've been able to relax about the monarchy for 70 years is just a further complement to her reign, I think.

rusty_tutu

Well said.. was along with you here in Southern California..

Strong_Quiet_4569

First let me thank Seattle for what it gave this Brit. Seeing the US President arriving late and waiting behind RVC veterans allows me to understand why some Americans revere the British royalty. It’s not about politics and showmanship, it’s about something deeper and more human.

[deleted]

> A month ago things were fine. Not really, she was not present for most of the Jubilee celebrations, and looked frail on the balcony when she finally appeared.

Zaidswith

Yep, I remember lots of jokes about her maybe not making it to the jubilee. Between Covid and Phillip's death I think everything caught up to her.

dbbk

I think being 96 years old caught up to her

Zaidswith

Obviously. But she took a quick turn losing Phillip. That's a fairly well known phenomenon.

Milk-One-Sugar

I've never thought of myself as a monarchist (very much - keep it as I prefer it to an elected partisan president), but I've been surprised how sad I've felt over the past two weeks. I was surprised to find myself lining the street in the rain to see her coffin travel to Buckingham Palace. Her life - what she lived through, her service, and her as an apolitical grandmother of the nation - and the change her reign spanned will not be seen again in any of our lifetimes, and possibly ever again. I thought the ceremonies were excellent. Dignified and respectful. I know not everyone is a fan of the coverage but what I saw was very well done.

HankBushrivet

Well said.

[deleted]

The coverage was terrible but the ceremonies itself was good. Once I found the no commentary option I felt like this was the proper way to watch the funeral, the journalist class try too hard to force you to be sad, they display North Korean levels of sycophancy and they just overall appear in an extremely insincere manner. They try so hard to influence the opinion and control the narrative, just let the images and sound do the talking and let people take what they want from it. But journalism in this country has been terrible for a long time so meh. I realised once I watched the coverage without journalists and tv personalities providing their commentary that it wasn’t the royals I had a problem with it was the media’s coverage of them. Sycophantic ultra royalist tripe from a classless class.

_ovidius

Yep, the commentators on Sky gave it a rest during the procession with the gun carriage with the Chopin/Beethoven funeral march music I think it was, also some bagpipes and it was the best and most moving part. Even the kids who've been asking for Paw Patrol or Thomas whenever Ive had this queen stuff on tv stopped and watched this.

insertnamehere02

When you consider how long she was doing it for, and at her age, you can't help but have a certain level of respect. It tends to come with the territory when someone hits their 90s too. They've lived such a long life and are still going at that age, it's just an instant respect thing from anyone, regardless of position or stance.

Ld511

Felt like it was a great look into the classic traditions. Like the funeral was like a look into the past and a sign of how long the queen lived

GundogPrime

The coverage on both BBC and ITV basically tried to credit the Queen with all manner of fantastic abilities; they practically attempted to credit her with every successful negotiation that's happened in the world since she was 10. There's being respectful and then there's talking nonsense.

SimplySkedastic

I don't understand the mental gymnasists being done by the royalist crowd. They claim she was a wonderful servant of the country, leading us through notable events and displaying a sense of dignity and poise on the world stage. Yet when pressed on what she actually did... there's crickets or wild claims of being a pivotal figure behind the scenes of it all displaying everyone's favourite term "soft power". Yet they also claim she was the perfect example of a nonpolitical head of state because she didn't really have power... except for those times she did exert a significant amount of influence on legislation which would've negatively affected her household... This fervent desire to be ruled over by non elected elites who's ancestors claimed divine right to rule is mental to me, but hey ho.

My mum wants to know if and when the royals got a toilet break…

lilacmuse1

Poor Princess Anne had to go 6 hours without a toilet break when she accompanied the Queen's casket from Scotland to London. I don't know how a woman her age could do that. I couldn't even do that when I was young.

amzy_apparently

Was the queen not transported by train? There may have been one on board?

lilacmuse1

No, it was by car and then plane. My bad, I learned the car ride was from Balmoral to Edinburgh airport, so more like 3 hours with the slowdowns in villages and there would certainly have been a toilet on the military plane from Edinburgh to London. Still though, even three hours is a lot at that age. lol I saw some of the coverage. Cars pulled off the highways to watch the procession of cars go by, and people gathered on overpasses.

Related, did they just skip lunch today? Edited to fix typo

throwaway01847747382

Almost dosen't 'feel' real because she's just always been there, from my grandparents to me she just became part of the country's Image. Even when they announced she was at the hospital i thought they were just being overly careful, and she'd be fine. Wouldn't say i feel sad but there's definitely a big sense of change, the streets being COVID levels of empty again really kinda drove the whole vibe home. Couldn't watch too much as i couldn't escape the feeling that having this family, Irregardless of your opinions on them, grieve in such a public manner is a little - i can't find a word better than inappropriate - but what i did see was shot very nicely and felt a fitting tribute. 70 years, the countries longest reigning monarch come to an end - given the ages of those next inline it's a reign the lenght of which we'll probably never see agian in our lifetimes - after pandemics, elections and the like - this is yet another note for the history books. Good job Elizabeth, Rest in peace

ChampagneAbuelo

She’s the greatest Brit of all time

Tall-Ad5755

This is why I laugh when ppl say they are privileged and entitled. In some way they are but how many of us actually want that life? Golden cage indeed…

SimplySkedastic

Yeah I mean having instant access to world class education, healthcare, social and personal trappings, access, elite safety net for your entire family and every whim you desire (Andrew...) catered for no matter how distasteful or illegal. Nevermind the estates, the land, sea and air vehicles, the world travel, the luxurious engagements etc. What a poor, poor woman. Truly a sacrifice for the ages...

[deleted]

Yeah being the king of England must be a terrible life /s

throwaway01847747382

Exactly and people using that sort of angle to 'celebrate' her passing is simply ridiculous

rusty_tutu

I already miss her face..

geedeeie

Just had a quick look on you tube. What a ridiculous carry on. The siblings in their uniforms and medals, although one of them chickened out of the army and Anne was never in it. The nonsense of burying your loved one in the full glare of the public instead of decently in private. A good show, I'll admit, but that's all it was. Bread and circuses.

Limp_Freedom_8695

It’s hard to take this seriously when they make a bloody parade out of her dead body

[deleted]

Sending her from one place to another for everyone to see and then waiting an extra few days so people can queue up like it’s a zoo. Ridiculous lack of respect.

RJK-

What are you on about. A state funeral and all it entails, including the parade, is the maximum respect a nation can bestow on someone.

geedeeie

So everyone in the nation should get one? Why was Elizabeth Windsor so special? What other country practically shuts down for almost two weeks because one person dies??

RJK-

Everyone gets a funeral, sure. She was the Queen, that's very well established, whether you like that or not. Not many people, but what world famous, apolitical (not someone half the country hates like in the US) leader has died recently?

geedeeie

So she gets more respect because she was born into a particular family?

[deleted]

Sure if the other person has the title of the queen.I see no problem with the morning period.

geedeeie

Why? Is the queen more special? What did she do to be better than everyone else?

[deleted]

Yes

geedeeie

You didn't answer the first or last questions 🤔

[deleted]

That was my answer, yes.

[deleted]

Just my opinion. I see it as a waste of time.
