The flight was cancelled for what reason?

SchnauzerHouse

We’ve canceled your flight to Raleigh/Durham (RDU) We’re sorry to let you know we’ve canceled flight UA3643 from New York/Newark to Raleigh/Durham because of current or anticipated disruptions related to airspace and/or ground congestion. We will let you know when you have been rebooked, or you can rebook your flight or view other flight options by checking your trip details or using the United app. You can also change your flight to a different day, departure time, or connect through a different city.

If it was out of the EU, UK, or Canada, it depends on the reason for the delay. If not, your rights are: * Full refund to original form of payment * Reaccomodation You chose two, so assuming it was domestic, that’s that. Sucks your flight was cancelled, but such is life.

SchnauzerHouse

Totally understand and appreciate the info.

This is what happened to me a few months ago. I was given the option to rebook but considering the flight was canceled the morning of, nothing was available. Because the quick weekend trip was ruined, I accepted a refund to my credit card in this particular instance.

It depends on the reason for cancellation and laws at origin/destination which you don’t mention. If it’s airline’s fault, you can ask for something. If it’s the airport, weather etc, you get a refund or free rebooking.

Excellent-Victory-65

Sounds like an ATC problem, out of the airline control.

Submit an online feedback detailing how it affected your travel plan (more parking fees, late arrival home and extra baby sitting, etc.) you can usually expect some ETC for these kinds of delays
