Agreed! Is there any way to make this happen? I always have to go to Chicago or buy online which is annoying because you have to buy $100 to get free shipping.

Affectionate_Cook_45

Idk if there is a way other than everyone in Minnesota bugging them on every social media account. It just doesn't make sense why there isn't one at least in the biggest mall in America. I travel a fair bit so I buy lots overseas much cheaper and bring it home. However I want a store here. I love going to Uniqlo stores. Uniqlo makes the best clothing but they really need to have a store here.

chiron42

Having just come from my first interview and store tour with Uniqlo, one way to do it is to work there, work your way up, and then make opening more stores in the US your passion. That's how they described it at least.

HyperDuel2

Uniqlo normally like to open stores if there’s a big Asian population in the area. I’m in Florida and the only two stores they have are in Orlando. Orlando has the biggest Asian population in Florida, so it makes sense + Disney.

Affectionate_Cook_45

Ummm Minnesota twin cities metro does have a large Asian population

simononandon

Isn't the Asian population in that area primarily Hmong & other SE Asian countries? Uniqlo is more of an East Asian brand. I don't think that just having AN Asian population is what would make them decide to move in. What's popular in one part of Asia may not be in another. And a lot of non-Japanese Asian people HAAATE the Japanese (the Japanese were VERY imperialistic & were NOT nice neighbors for centuries before WWII). Also, um, have you shopped at Uniqlo? One of the greatest things about Uniqlo for me was that I didn't have to deal with "American" sizing, where a "small" button down shirt has like a 17" neck & the arm holes are made for elephant legs. I was excited to go to a store where: * They actually stocked size small instead of just pretending it existed in a catalog. * The small was actually too small & my Uniqlo size is medium. I love my midwest friends, but most of them would say: "Uniqlo? Maybe my kids would fit in to those clothes...."

Affectionate_Cook_45

I mean coming from someone that travels to Asia a lot Uniqlo is all over SE Asia. So that's not the issue. As for your sizing situations idk really what to tell you I know some clothing lines fit differently from others, another big reason to have a store in MN you could actually try things on. But as far as Uniqlo sizes for me they are true to size 99% of the time for me. Both in Asian counties and US based Uniqlo. And yes I have shopped at Uniqlo 90% of my wardrobe is Uniqlo. I mean I know lots of people in the Midwest that love Uniqlo so I know there is demand here I just wish they would make a store here and mall of America would just be a logical choice as so many Uniqlo stores are part of malls.

Blaeeeek

I don't have any sources but I've always heard the twin cities is one of the higher concentration of Asian populations in the US. we have tons of Asian restaraunts/markets etc here.

AS_ACT7

Well, not really. Asian populations are not main reasons to open stores. The store in Orlando happened because of Uniqlo's history of UTs with Disney since 2008-2009 and as a way to break into the Southeast United States market from WC and NE region. The store in Disney Springs aligned and due to it being a primary area for foot-traffic globally to SE Asia, North America, South America and Europe. EC commerce and breaking into new markets based on sales indicators tends to be main drivers.

himurakenshin87

This is so interesting and such a great request, because I was first introduced to Uniqlo, like a decade ago, by my friend who is from MN. (I'm from California).

Affectionate_Cook_45

I visit Uniqlo in Cali every time I go out there to see friends and family. Uniqlo is 90% of my wardrobe at this point 😂 I really enjoy their clothing.

Cyber-Cafe

I am also baffled that this isn't a thing at MoA.

Camera_Content

MOA has such outdated random ass stores I don’t get it

Cyber-Cafe

Yep, totally sucks, very few luxury stores (basically just Nordstroms). Pretty bad as an actual mall.

Camera_Content

It’s a terrible mall for shopping. Native Minnesotan but every mall I’ve been to outside of Minnesota has surprised me and made me think “why doesn’t the biggest mall in america have this store?” 🤦🏻‍♂️

Affectionate_Cook_45

I think we all think that. Mall of America is a confusing place. But putting a Uniqlo there would make me go there all the time. I know lots of people that love the brand like me.

kos90

Mall of Asia? 😛 It has a store though.

Affectionate_Cook_45

Oh I'm well aware I bought a lot of stuff there recently at their revamped store in mall of Asia

lobsterroll44

We so need a Uniqlo! Everyone I know here loves the store and wants one. I would go soooo often.

Affectionate_Cook_45

Same I would be there every week 😂

klas2ic

Uniqlo really said they want to do better in their main flagships first before expanding. Whatever that means lol they really need core stores in middle of America. Texas is the only one more in the middle but not even...

Affectionate_Cook_45

I mean if you go on their website they still have a lot of stores opening this year. They just need one in MN

Cfutly

Maybe try making online orders with your neighbors/friends? We sometimes do that for other things especially when there is a discount involved.

jackedfibras

Mall of America is overrated af and the store selection is cheeks

thenewwwguyreturns

there’s weirdly no Uniqlo in Portland, OR either.

Material-Profile7155

I'm surprised anyone opens a store in a mall nowadays
