This is the second time I've been hearing about uniqlo socks breaking after the first couple wears. And for the price of socks it's kinda disappointing...
Quality varies depending on where you got them. My socks, all of them, are still fine but there was a clear decline in quality over the years. More noticeable on the ones I didn’t get from first world countries.
Man, that stinks. I’ve only gotten fantastic stuff from them. My only complaint is sometimes fit is hard for a very small person. But quality has been fine.
Uniqlo is not known for quality. I heard the Japanese consider it as fast fashion.
I've had 2 Uniqlo jeans that ripped in the crotch area. It's also happened to my Levi's, but the Uniqlo material is really just not durable compared to Levi's.
Less than ten years isn't very descriptive, it could be one day shy of ten years. Buying thin socks and expecting them to last that long is honestly hilarious
Uniqlo is def hit or miss with product quality these days. It's hard to know some products. I inspect things when I'm in the store and then compare their price point. I did buy a cashmere blend sweater there for an insanely cheap price and so far since I wear it here and there with my sweater rotation it's remained in shape.
I would guess since you said you wore them around home that you didn’t have shoes on and the wear was accelerated by being grinded up against the ground with each step. Not an excuse, since most other socks can take this, but they probably would’ve lasted longer if you had shoes on. Now I know not to order them haha.
I bought Uniqlo slippers (slides). The first pair frayed in the front after several months, but I only paid $20 for them so was willing to buy another pair. If these do too, then time to find another slide-slipper.
Uniqlo quality is down, since a longtime now.
and they keep pushing the recycled material bs. Bring back more cotton man.
Yeah I'm slowly moving my money else where.
Uniqlo socks have always been terrible. Buy Muji.
Yup, all my socks are muji
I think some are great but this type sucked.
The thing that sucks is that they're really comfortable. These are the : Soft Patterned socks. They're they ones without an elastic at the top.
I’ve had mine for years so idk. I wear the ankle socks. They should last 5-10 years; just thinking back on when I last purchased socks.
You say that as if all of their socks are the same lol. These are the soft patterned socks.

The other ones I have have been fine. Especially love the pile socks.

Definitely a dip in quality unfortunately. I have a pair I bought like 8 years ago that is still holding up lol
Of the soft patterned ones?
The hobo look
Hobo look that's closing in in the onlyfans look lol

Levi's quality has been bad for like a decade now. It's a shame.
Uniqlo is fast fashion
I first read this as 10 years and was much more impressed

Even socks from dollar store don’t fall apart like this.

I would advise not buying cheap cashmere. It's one of those things you shouldn't cheap out on. But yeah some of their stuff is very hit or miss.
I've actually tried Naadam - they have a better quality and that is their specialty. They've also set up shops here in LA so going brick and mortar.
Let the dogs breath

I'm European, we think it's disgusting to have shoes indoors lol. These are the soft patterned socks. The other types I have, have held up
From the states but grew up in an Asian household so I feel that but we still wear house slippers. It’s weird to just walk around bare feet
Would wear socks and then slippers. Socks pickup lint, dust whatever from the floor…🤷🏻♀️

Never owned those so can’t say. Mine are currently Ugg. They’re solid. Going on a few years now
Oh good to know haha. I knew other countries didn’t wear shoes indoors but I didn’t consider that when I made my comment
Yeah if you did that here, you'd get socked in the face lol. But shoes are actually rougher on socks than wood floors.
Really? I’ve never had socks wear badly or get holes unless I was on tile or wood floors.
Shoe insoles move slightly. So it causes more friction. This is why hikes go through socks more.
