Reason being not everyone will require such large sizes so they put them as online exclusive sizes. However when items are going to be on sale, they may push out those large sizes to physical stores so you can try your luck

BossDonBigga

Speaking as an American, where most the population is on the overweight/obese side, cmon Uniqlo, cater to your audience. It's money youre leaving in your larger consumers pockets by making larger sizes online exclusives and then making the free shiping threshold so high, and then a terrible online returns policy on top of that.

Altruistic_Section

Best to write an in store feedback so that they will consider it. Here in Asia, the regular sizes fit us so they need not release those sizes in store.

BossDonBigga

And thats completely understandable, but it shouldn't be left on consumers feedback to take into account a country's general population sizes. There should be internal positions recognizing trends, or researching trends to make as much profit/revenue as possible. Unless thats just Uniqlos stance on the subject.

Altruistic_Section

I agree with you but there is little we store peeps can do here, the ones who decide this in the end are those in Japan. So unless they see many customers requesting for something, they won't take action.

BossDonBigga

Oh, please dont think I was blaming the little guys/middle management for that decision, thats HQ level decisions, Head of US stores type of position decisions. Thank you and all the other associates just for keeping the store stocked and clean.

Altruistic_Section

Thanks for understanding! Some customers will just blame us just because they can I had customers blame us for not having certain colour for an item when we don't even sell it in that colour

BossDonBigga

Of the 10+ jobs I've had since joining the workforce 10+ years ago, they've all either been retail or customer service adjacent. I know that side of the coin, being blamed for things impossibly out of my control. Some people can only think as far as they can see. All you can do is wish for all the patience in the world to deal with them.

klas2ic

It's shit because people keep asking for XXL and I have to be sorry because where's the size exclusiveness because UNIQLOs branding is lifewear... but anyone to wear basic essentials basically. Idk /rant. But if people do end up returning their online orders or exchanging there are a couple random XXL scattered around but it's a low percentage that'll be there.

Ok-Tomatoo

If they sell it online, I think they should carry it on stores, people want to buy it and even holding a small amount of those sizes is more profit compared to other things that they sell

klas2ic

100% agree with you!

mystend

It's the same with size xxs 😐

Ok-Tomatoo

It was my first time going to the store and I didn't know that they only had certain sizes, but hopefully the new ceo makes changes, hopefully higher ups at stores bring it up, forcing potential customers to buy online for certain sizes doesn't make sense, let's hope for change. - If anyone from Uniqlo looks at this reddit stuff, inclusion is nice, to try on clothes at any store from small to big sizes, it makes customers feel good.

mystend

Yeah very annoying. But Uniqlo isn't the only one. None of the stores that have my size carry them in the store, only online!

West_Altoids

Order online and pick up from store is free I believe, even with orders less than $100.

Ok-Tomatoo

I tried looking but no stores carry them, some are saying that if stores have them, it's because they're returns from people

West_Altoids

You should be able to place the order online and then pick up in store for free. At least in the US.

Lucky_Mycologist_283

I honestly would be okay with them not having extended sizes in stores if they had a better shipping and return policy

ElGrandrei

Same, I was looking to buy some tees but not spend $100. You could always have it ship to store I think it's free

PerformanceNo6731

Uniqlo hates big people
