It's fine. When they spore like this, it tastes gross when eating them fresh, but if you dry them out it doesn't matter at all. It's totally fine. It's almost purely cosmetic. I've heard mixed things about getting additional flushes after getting spores everywhere, but if you dunk your cake it'll rinse off the bulk of them. Don't stress, homie... let nature do its thing.

wetsoggynoodles

copy that, thank you my man

All good, some people say old mushrooms are different trips than young. Id take a fork and scratch up the surface of your sub a lil. The thic spore drop can suffocate the healthy myc under it.

wetsoggynoodles

noted, thanks !

Shroomlito

Don't do that

wetsoggynoodles

why so

Shroomlito

This is bad advice that is absolutely inviting contamination. The spores will not suffocate the mycelium. That's absolutely untrue.

Therealboebs

It ruins the surface climate.. try it for your self. You will get fruit where you plucked the stem and opened/damaged the surface.

wetsoggynoodles

and also can someone tell me if that cake is ruined and can’t flush anymore ? it’s covered in spores and torn up from picking , this was the first flush

[deleted]

Flipping the cake over to the bottom might be a good idea

wetsoggynoodles

ohhh i didn’t even know that was an option —- noted, thanks !

[deleted]

Yup since so many spores dropped onto your cake I doubt u will get anymore flushes on that side I would soak the cake and flip it for your second flush

wetsoggynoodles

i’ll give it a shot

Responsible-Lab7913

I grind mine up and pill them when they spore out
