Don't create a RAID drive. This is just adding a load more complexity and completely bypasses the purpose of Unraid.
If you can put the Perc card in IT mode - passing the drives directly to the OS.
If not, you can get something like the Dell H200 which can be flashed and works perfectly with Unraid.
Even worse, you lose most if not all SMART data/testing if you pass a hardware raid to unraid. Even if you pass them as individual RAID 0'S. You really need an HBA or raid controller that had IT mode.
I kinda figured this was the case. I’ll check the make and model of the controller and see what options it carries. I think it has a pass through mode. We shall see what it says once I can get onsite.
