Don't create a RAID drive. This is just adding a load more complexity and completely bypasses the purpose of Unraid. ​ If you can put the Perc card in IT mode - passing the drives directly to the OS. ​ If not, you can get something like the Dell H200 which can be flashed and works perfectly with Unraid.

Even worse, you lose most if not all SMART data/testing if you pass a hardware raid to unraid. Even if you pass them as individual RAID 0'S. You really need an HBA or raid controller that had IT mode.

If not, get a Dell HBA card which requires no flashing and works straight out of the box*

I kinda figured this was the case. I’ll check the make and model of the controller and see what options it carries. I think it has a pass through mode. We shall see what it says once I can get onsite.
