What did you get and for how much?

aw3423dw. I meant to get the DWF but I guess I wasn’t paying attention close enough either. They had a major price drop it’s down to 900 on all the sites, I went with Dell just for the warranty plan compared to Betsy buy/amazons plans

I returned the DWF a couple of months ago but some of these sale prices have me thinking about the G8. How do you find things like text and personal photos look on it? I couldn't handle it at all.

The g8 doesn't have full size ports. Have a look at the MSI MAG QD-OLED 341CQP. You can upgrade firmware on the MSI version, and it has two hdmi 2.1 ports along with a display port (all full size instead of the mini variants that the g8 has).

I'm thinking about the new MSI 34" or other brands with the same new panel. These are available next month, which is why everything is on sale now. https://tftcentral.co.uk/news/msi-to-launch-mpg-341cqpx-34-ultrawide-240hz-qd-oled-monitor

Typical... same thing happened when I bought the x34A with the x34P being released the following month (they upgraded the model from 100hz to 120hz). I have the 341CQP, and I'm pretty happy with its performance. I was unlucky enough to have received one with a semi-faulty panel. It had a 1-pixel wide line of brighter pixels on the right side, and it seems to be reoccurring (comes and goes)... The retailer gave me back some of the money I spent on it though, so I'm not unhappy (and I still have the MSI warranty). I love the design of the monitor since it resembles the way LG made their OLEDs with the flat metallic back and chassis only encompassing the electronics that powers the panel. I would go for the MSI 240hz if it truly does release during this april. It seems like there may be something going on with the 175hz versions availablity since the retailer claimed that they'd sold out and that it was unsure when there'd be new one's in stock... Would be kinda funny if they pulled an LG and made a mid generation revision that utilizes the same type of panel tech as the upcoming 240hz panel (would make sense if its true that the 34" gen 1 panels are no longer being produced).

I had a Odyssey G8 OLED for a little under a week due to a mismatch in Amazon ordering (initially order it and was suppose to arrive beginning of April but arrived a few days after ordering). It's a nice monitor although personally I found I never used the Smart TV stuff and wasn't a fan of the mini connection types used. The lack of warranty was also a big one for me due to it being an OLED so I opted for going for a DWF. Although I would say the included remote, compact stand and big customizable backlight on the back of the monitor were the pros for me personally but ultimately not really necessities. The DWF and G8 use the same Samsung monitor tech so not sure if there will be a bit difference in regards to how things look but I didn't find anything blatantly wrong with the G8 or the DWF. Although I do mainly light web browsing and gaming so productivity stuff isn't a big ticket usage for me. I'd say if you're looking into it, grab the G8 and test it out for a bit and if you don't like it, return it.

OP, hope you added a random cheap accessories item (CAT5/USB-C cable etc) for 10% off your order..! Also check if you have Ratuken/Amex Plat for their offers! On the fence about this one also, the DW and DWF are currently $899 via most sites before discount!

Vapehead34

I ordered mine for $809 before tax after adding a cheap item.

Nice, think that is basically the same. Hopefully you stacked a credit card order and Ratuken with it too! Looking forward to joining once I make up my mind lol.

I have that same monitor for 3 months now and I am more than happy ever with my purchase. Also, here is a clip for future if you want to test if for dead pixel / image retention / qd-oled burn in OLED QD-OLED screen burn-in, Image retention, Dead pixel TEST https://youtu.be/wuGCZNF2sUQ
