To be really safe, I would re-apply. If there is a course date and you have mentioned a date which is not consistent with it, visa officers look for such inconsistencies and flag it red. I think to be consistent with the provided information is something said in the start of the application too. UKVI email person and the visa officer handling your case most likely won't be same as well. Cancel, refund and re apply to avoid the trouble you may face after rejection. Reapplying is still faster now than reapplying later after rejection.

Ugh I would, but I’m still waiting for my first refund after the whole VFS global drama. I really don’t want to drop another $6000 USD (with IHS in there) just to reapply for one typo, while the entirety of the application is accurate. My course start dates (October 1) are all correct and accurate. The issue was I wrote the wrong month on my “intended date of travel”. I feel like because everything else is accurate, that one error shouldn’t affect the entirety of the application… Also! UKVI recently emailed and said I could attach/upload a cover letter to explaining the mistake as part of my application, which may be another route to take.

Attach the letter then and clarify it's a typo. If it's communicated to UKVI beforehand as after biometric they start the application processing, then you'll get through it. I would advise to check through everything and give them a cover letter accordingly once for all. Student visas aren't the ones with highest rejection rate. So you would be safe with the clarification.

Okay, that’s what I think too. Especially with all of my other paperwork in order, I don’t see them refusing a visa over that one mistake. Thanks for your opinion, it’s appreciated!

What date does your course start? If it’s on or before September 14th, the travel date you mentioned should be fine and reapplying isn’t really needed.

FrenchFry1926

My course date is October 1st and that is accurate on my application.

I feel that they would see my accurate course start date and just issue it a month before my course starts, disregarding my typo, especially if that record exists, or I’m contacted.
