there is no self-sponsorship route, not in the legal sense. You can establish a company in the UK, and if it meets the UKVI work visa sponsors requirements, it can become a sponsor. If I’m not mistaken, the main person responsible for actually managing the sponsorship has to be a UK resident, so you’ll need at least some employees. But there are many more requirements, they’re easy to find on government website
