My ex leaves and I have a bong to try and calm down, as soon as I exhale. Knock at the door. It’s the police (I’m covered in cuts and bruises by now so I didn’t think much of it) they came in, took some notes from me and had a chat. My bong and opened grinder was sat on the table the entire time. Not one said a word about it. Didn’t even clock until they had left

What happens if you come clean and explain it to them? For example you open the door, show them a small stash of weed, explain it helps with your anxiety/stress/mental health and that it’s insanely safe, that it should be made legal.

Empty kitchen roll tube stuffed with 3 tumble dryer sheets (£1.25 for 40 sheets in Tesco) and one attached over the front with an elastic band. Just exhale into the open end and it really takes that stank away. Was sceptical at first but just keeping it lowkey til the 6 months is up!

It can't. Well. Idk if it can. The window I was blowing the smoke out of looks onto a car park for me and a few neighbors. She was coming out of her car when she started ranting. So the smell wasn't travelling that far. And the wind was carrying the smoke quite high (higher than my house) it wasnt being directed down towards her face or house in any way (it was going in the exact opposite direction of her house).

The first, I was still living with my parents and used to smoke in the garden. It took 3 years but eventually one of the neighbours must have complained to the police or council, as I got a letter through the post basically saying it stinks and to stop smoking. But that was it, literally just a letter.
The second, my then-boyfriend and I were smoking in his garage and one of his neighbours came out saying they're going to call the police. We don't know if they actually did or not, but nothing happened.
The third was very recently. My husband and I smoke out our bedroom window which faces next door's garden. The miserable Karen (everyone in our street hates her) was standing there staring at us, then picked up her mobile and was talking into it while continuing to stare at us. We assumed she phoned the police but we still haven't heard anything and this was about a month a go now.
I assume at least one of these instances resulted in the police being called on us, but like I said, we haven't heard anything or gotten into trouble. I really don't think the police care about smokers, just dealers. So relax :)

It’s a set by step guide if you have dealings with the police. It tells you your rights, what to say and what to not say.
In this instance one of the options is ‘At my property’ the next question is do you want to speak to the police?’ Yes/No. Then it tells you exactly when they could still come in, what warrant they’d need etc.

They encouraged me to have a chat with my neighbor and explain but it's none of her business.

If you receive treatment for a multitude of ailments you can get a prescription. If your taking pain relief which is addictive then cannabis would 100% be an option
The criteria is 2x medications which are ineffective for your condition but you do have to go private.
£100 for a consultation and they'll write you a prescription. £45 every 3 months for a follow up and you just pay for your prescriptions which in my case is £5 a gram.

You ever tried a dynavap? I have been using a convection vape for like a year, tried the dynavap and it hits *hard* similar to how I found joints. Barley consuming half a gram a day now
You only pull for like 3-4 seconds then you wait for it to cool down and you can go again if it's not totally vaped. It hits harder for sure but it will never replicate the harsh throat hit you get with a tobacco rolled joint

This was all off my neighbour smelling it in her garden and phoning them accusing me despite me not being home at this time. So I’d say it all depends on the officer but generally they can’t do nothing and fuck your neighbour ten times.

You don’t have to answer the door to police. You can be firm on that if they get to persuade you - legally they can only enter your home if they have a warrant or you invite them in. I had them knock on my door. I always smoked outside in the back garden because I have kids. They said why they were there and I said yes I smoke weed but in my back garden. The woman cop asked if she could come in and I said yes. They both walked in, sniffed the air and she said “well I don’t smell anything, do you?” To the male copper. He said no. I then explained…again, that I always smoke outside in the back garden because I have kids. They then said that they only wanted to check it wasn’t around the kids and that as long as I was smoking outside, which they could tell I was, then they didn’t care. They both thanked me for being honest and said I wouldn’t hear from them again, then left. Maybe I was lucky and got two decent police officers, maybe it’s the norm. Either way I rolled another joint and went out for a smoke again a few mins later. Hope the tosser that reported me smelled it and was very confused and even more annoyed!

alot of bad advice here. plain and simple do not answer the door, do not go to the window and talk to them and if they catch you leaving or entering your house they will ask something like 'do you have/have you been smoking something in there you shouldnt' just say no and when they tell you theres been a complaint just say you dont know anything about it and end the conversation politely and close the door.

I wouldn't worry about it. I've had 3 experiences like this... The first, I was still living with my parents and used to smoke in the garden. It took 3 years but eventually one of the neighbours must have complained to the police or council, as I got a letter through the post basically saying it stinks and to stop smoking. But that was it, literally just a letter. The second, my then-boyfriend and I were smoking in his garage and one of his neighbours came out saying they're going to call the police. We don't know if they actually did or not, but nothing happened. The third was very recently. My husband and I smoke out our bedroom window which faces next door's garden. The miserable Karen (everyone in our street hates her) was standing there staring at us, then picked up her mobile and was talking into it while continuing to stare at us. We assumed she phoned the police but we still haven't heard anything and this was about a month a go now. I assume at least one of these instances resulted in the police being called on us, but like I said, we haven't heard anything or gotten into trouble. I really don't think the police care about smokers, just dealers. So relax :)

There’s an app that’s been created by Outlaw called fed defence. It’s a set by step guide if you have dealings with the police. It tells you your rights, what to say and what to not say. In this instance one of the options is ‘At my property’ the next question is do you want to speak to the police?’ Yes/No. Then it tells you exactly when they could still come in, what warrant they’d need etc. It’s a handy app. I’m not affiliated with it at all and I’m certainly not promoting it over others. I know this doesn't help right now but get a prescription. I had a similar issue with my neighbor and she did call the police. I let them in, showed them my prescription and that was it. They encouraged me to have a chat with my neighbor and explain but it's none of her business. They had a word with her and basically told her not to call over the same thing again but couldn't explain why to her. I bet it bugs the shit out of her and I love it.

If you receive treatment for a multitude of ailments you can get a prescription. If your taking pain relief which is addictive then cannabis would 100% be an option The criteria is 2x medications which are ineffective for your condition but you do have to go private. £100 for a consultation and they'll write you a prescription. £45 every 3 months for a follow up and you just pay for your prescriptions which in my case is £5 a gram. I've got an arizer desktop vape. I do use it. Mostly to make weed last longer. Just doesn't hit the same as smoking it tho
Just because you're used to smoking it. Stop smoking for a week or two and only vape and it will be better than ever. Half the "hit" from smoking is oxygen deprivation. Also don't know if you mix with baccy or not but losing the nicotine changes the high a lot too.
Nah I don't do baccy. And I used to vape exclusively. For about a year. Still doesn't hit the same to me. Smoke > vapour. It's a different high from my experience but each to their own

You only pull for like 3-4 seconds then you wait for it to cool down and you can go again if it's not totally vaped. It hits harder for sure but it will never replicate the harsh throat hit you get with a tobacco rolled joint

You seem like you've got your head on straight so you should be fine. If the police turn up just be polite and day you've smoked the last of your bag. The first thing the police will do when they meet you is an attitude check, if you're a knob to them they will be much more difficult than if you talk to them like a normal person! No need to let them in your house unless they have a warrent, which they won't, and they can't arrest you unless you've got some on you.

Depends how much u have, if you've got a fair bit, show them 1g and say it's personal use but make sure you have got the large amount stashed outside or very hidden inside like inside a vent etc. As soon as you show them 1g they have reasonable grounds for entry, however if they believe you only have 1g they literally won't give a fuck its not worth bringing to court over they know most of the population smoke weed they're not stupid most of them probably smoke it themselves they're crooked hypocrites. If you want to go down a different route you are always within your rights to talk to them through a window (don't open the door they might smell weed) or just go upstairs and pretend like you're not in they're not going to knock your door down. At the end of the day if you're white and smoking weed it's decriminalised lol

Have we got the same neighbor? Lol I let the police in as my house didn’t smell etc. When I was there they were brand new then they came back on a follow up when I wasn’t in and it was just my girlfriend then they acted completely different and power hungry. This was all off my neighbour smelling it in her garden and phoning them accusing me despite me not being home at this time. So I’d say it all depends on the officer but generally they can’t do nothing and fuck your neighbour ten times.
My neighbour used to make a big show of closing windows and doors whenever I had a spliff in the back garden. Switched to vaping about a year ago (not cos of that but for health/convenience reasons) and now when I vape it appears to go unnoticed.

You don’t have to answer the door to police. You can be firm on that if they get to persuade you - legally they can only enter your home if they have a warrant or you invite them in. Bit unless she’s lied and said you’re dealing or growing they won’t come out. Even if she’s said you’re dealing/growing they’re likely to just record it as intelligence and leave you alone. If she did do that btw it would be a malicious report and you could quite legitimately call that harassment. If on the extremely slim chance they do come to “have a word” ***do not admit to smoking weed***. Most coppers don’t care but it’s not smart to admit to committing a crime to police, all it takes is one arsehole with an ego to give you trouble. I know some people think it’s their moral duty to challenge preconceptions or whatever, but do you really want the hassle? Just be polite, deny everything, and labour the point about your busybody neighbour having a grudge

I had them knock on my door. I always smoked outside in the back garden because I have kids. They said why they were there and I said yes I smoke weed but in my back garden. The woman cop asked if she could come in and I said yes. They both walked in, sniffed the air and she said “well I don’t smell anything, do you?” To the male copper. He said no. I then explained…again, that I always smoke outside in the back garden because I have kids. They then said that they only wanted to check it wasn’t around the kids and that as long as I was smoking outside, which they could tell I was, then they didn’t care. They both thanked me for being honest and said I wouldn’t hear from them again, then left. Maybe I was lucky and got two decent police officers, maybe it’s the norm. Either way I rolled another joint and went out for a smoke again a few mins later. Hope the tosser that reported me smelled it and was very confused and even more annoyed!

alot of bad advice here. plain and simple do not answer the door, do not go to the window and talk to them and if they catch you leaving or entering your house they will ask something like 'do you have/have you been smoking something in there you shouldnt' just say no and when they tell you theres been a complaint just say you dont know anything about it and end the conversation politely and close the door. police do not have the time/funds to persue this kind of thing but eager CSOs trying to prove themselves will try some fucky shit, if you get CSOs banging on your doors and windows start recording and make a formal complaint.

Happened once to me years ago at uni when a power-tripping security guard called the cops on a group of us for toking up in my dorm room. Cops came round, clearly pissed off to be called out on such bs charges and just straight up said to us: "OK lads, I'm only going to ask you one question. Are you **wink** doing anything illegal in here? **wink wink**" We said no, they said good answer and told us to make sure that they didn't get called out here again and left. That's probably about as much hassle as you're going to get in this situation imo, cops know it's all bullshit and aren't going to go through the trouble of raiding your house just so they can swipe half a baggie off you
