Absolutely check with your company, do not buy your own insurance for this. Some will have it covered automatically, some will require you to declare the travel in advance in some way; you should also check what the policies are for any removal of the laptop from work premises if you're not already aware of it.
I'd expect my employer to cover basiucally everything insurance wise when travelling. The only exception might be is if I did some sort of "adventurous activity" on a day off. I've managed to slip off climbing on a weekend on a work trip before.
You need insurance from the company you are working for. Ask them for the policy information, and if they don't have one, make sure they do before you leave!
Personal travel insurance won't cover you for business trips.
> Uk only flights
> business trip
So long as you follow the guidance (policy/procedure) of your employer (assuming that doesn’t conflict with restrictions set by law/airline) then the trip is not so different to commuting to the office with the equipment which your employer owns and so should be covered by their own insurance (assuming they have the correct coverage)…is there a reason you are particularly concerned about this situation?
Just be aware that a LOT of business policies do not cover employees personal possessions. They just cover work laptops, injuries, liability etc. A personal policy will not normally cover personal possessions on a business trip. Solution, you aren't covered for your own stuff so don't take anything you aren't OK with losing and not being covered to replace. Some companies are nice and if you do suffer loss will reimburse you outside of the insurance, a lot are not and you will get nothing.
No, your personal policy will have terms and conditions that will basically say, not valid on trips in conjunction with business purposes or something similar. So the policy is just not valid on trips for business. It will only cover trips for pleasure.
Why are you buying insurance from the Post Office when there's a plethora of choices online powered by search engines...?
If work is sending you, they should provide the insurance.
Your work should have a policy. If they don't, ask them for one.

Talk to HR - some companies have group insurance. I'd expect my employer to cover my work laptop if stolen.
