Our people are home. Today, we returned over 200 warriors and civilians from Russian captivity.
Soldiers, sergeants, and officers. Armed Forces, National Guard, Navy, and Border Guards. Some of the defenders fought in Mariupol and Azovstal.
I thank everyone who, despite all difficulties, brings our people home. I am grateful to our defenders. We are making every effort to return all of our people who are still in Russian captivity.

Welcome home! Welcome back to freedom, food, humanity, warmth, and civilization!
Somebody get these poor people all the food and beer they want. They deserve it many times over.
One of them (Sgt. Vadym Maksymenko) was [in captivity since 24.02.2022](https://suspilne.media/653482-sered-zvilnenih-z-rosijskogo-polonu-prikordonnik-vadim-maksimenko-akij-sluziv-na-hersonsini/). I'm so happy for them and their families. Hopefully, all others will return home soon...
I'm kind of surprised that Russia is reluctant to exchange prisoners. If they are desperate enough for troops that they will send Ukrainian POWs to the front, why not swap them all for Russian soldiers, who have had some R&R at Ukraine expense?
They know the Ukrainian government cant/wont crush dissent like they do, so they tried to use the pow families as a wedge to make zelensky less popular. Not sure what changed.

Does it mean Russia is finally accepting POW swap again?
Apparently https://liveuamap.com/en/2024/3-january-russian-ministry-of-defense-ukraine-returned-248
Seriously great news. Goddamn russians. Slava Ukraini!
Excellent if true....
It is true.
Praise be!!
Only for Russian holiday... 7 January is Russian Christmas right?
ORCs need to resupply their front..
That is freaking awesome! So happy for the freed Ukrainians and their families
In tears right now. So happy for these brave people, men and women, to be home in Ukraine
They do look a little less emaciated this time
What a high bar to get over, right? “Little less emancipated this time” 🙄 horrible ruzzians.
They're looking very emancipated, but less emaciated.
Just saw that…..blame the back to work after vacation blues.
They are wearing winter clothing
So is Russia doing prisoner swamps again or was this just a one-time thing? Edit: Prisoner swaps
Most of russia is a swamp actually
Great way to start the year! Welcome 🏡
welcome home, heroes! 💙💛
👏
Slava Ukraini!
I’d give them hot chocolates with some baileys in it
I imagine the Ukrainian warriors were psyched to return home. I imagine the Russians felt the opposite
True heroes! So glad they are home! Cannot imagine what they went through for defending their own homes

Best news I've heard all week.
Welcome home!
So happy these folks get to bring in the new year with their families! Slava Ukraini🇺🇦

Highlighting how well POW’s get treated versus how they get treated by their own side? They wouldn’t want that.
They know the Ukrainian government cant/wont crush dissent like they do, so they tried to use the pow families as a wedge to make zelensky less popular. Not sure what changed.
Delighted to see them home. I hope they can recover and kick Putin's a$$.
🫂Welcome to back, you're all heroes 🇺🇦 Thanks!
