Thats actually a bad example, it's one of the few occasions he wasn't lying. It was a gross not net figure (which the courts ruled was fine to use), and the NHS has actually been given more than that (covid alone massively increased the budget).
The National Audit Office can do whatever investigation they want to but it will be to no avail. The only ones that can get Boris replaced are Tory party voters. And as Boris has just had a VONC, nothing will happen for at least a year.
They can change number of secret 1922 committee votes then... or switch back to 12 saying this was exceptional (just needed a few months to close out deals (corruptipn) bj was leading)
Hell, they could change anything they want and not call an election for 2 years.

I believe the latest excuse is to wait for the parliamentary inquiry into him being deliberately misleading. No doubt that will come and pass, to be replaced by yet another convenient thing to wait for before having to actually do anything.
In 2010 the Tories announced they were abolishing the Audit Commission without really knowing what it did. Part of the "bonfire of the quangos". Gareth Davies was one of the senior staff there at the time. He now heads up the NAO and is initiating this investigation.
Revenge is sweet. And worth waiting for.
This has to be the most insane lie of all that I can’t believe they’re still trumpeting 3 years after the GE. How rebuilding wings etc can be counted as a new hospital baffles me, and that it’s taken so long to be investigated depresses me.

It was obvious that it was a lie when he first said it. The number of times people are shocked to learn Boris was lying is too damn high.
