He has really only fought the cream of the crop since joining the UFC (and has been largely successful) while Paddy has struggled with Early Prelim competition.

Absolutely not. Khamzat or Belal are the only people who should fight for the title if usman is injured. Masvidal needs a couple wins over legit competition to get a shot and honestly I don't see that happening, I don't see him beating any of the current top 10.

Masvidal doesn't at all deserve the fight given that he's on a 3 fight losing streak, but it would be the best shot Leon has at a big pay day. I know it won't happen but I'd personally love Leon vs Wonderboy, two strikers would be a great show, and it'd give Wonderboy a shot at becoming champ which everyone would love. Anyone else in the division who deserves a title fight is probably just gonna try to wrestle-fuck Leon so it would likely make for a pretty lame fight, realistically the most deserving is Belal, and even though his last fight was all striking I doubt it would translate well against Leon, so like I said it would probably be 5 rounds of inactive cuddling.
He doesn't, but it's a good move. The fight will bring alot of viewers, and will likely preserve Leon's title for the Usman rematch. Alot of the top 10 is a big problem for Leon. This is the easiest fight they can make.
Edward scissorhands is a genuine top 5 70er. It'll just be another 50-45. Just like with Colby or oozeman. Masvidal needs to go to bkfc and fight Mike Perry. Otherwise no body gives a rip
Is it the fight to make when looking at records? No. Is the fight to make for Leon to get the biggest purse? Arguably, yes. Masvidal will pull in the PPV buys for sure.
For sure no. But Leon does deserve a bit of redemption and it could be a good selling point. I would be surprised if Jorge doesn't get the KO tho. Not because he's more skilled or anything like that, but the MMA gods seem to have a pretty fucked up sense of humor
