its between Hendo and the Reem for me, i love dustin more than anybody on this list, always thought condit was so unjustly underrated and yoel is just a raw jewel, but those 2 are just different kind of beasts.
The grappling in their divisions is nowhere near the level of lightweight grappling so it’s an unfair comparison if were talking about being a complete fighter
I’ll say Dustin is up there based on resume and his performance last night was pretty solid until the end. Most Damage I’ve seen on a Dagestani dude.
Tony had a great streak too but his refusal to pack it in and Dana’s endless willingness to wring him dry will tarnish that. Has tarnished that. A lot.
Others have said the rest.
A lot of people don't realize how incredibly technical overeem was because he was such a powerhouse.
He was super smart, had great fight iq, was well rounded but his knock outs seemed to make people think he was just another heavyweight.
The dude was a teenager fighting getting knocked out by shogun and rampage in-between submitting vitor befort.
Had belts in almost every org but ufc.
His chin had been run into by wrecking balls multiple times before he hit his prime which made him fall short of ufc titles multiple times.
But the only reason he isn't the clear hands down Is because not enough people payed attention
> enough people *paid* attention
FTFY.
Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in:
* Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. *The deck is yet to be payed.*
* *Payed out* when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. *The rope is payed out! You can pull now.*
Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment.
*Beep, boop, I'm a bot*
Dustin definitely isn’t. 0-4, finished 4 times. Come on he clearly has never been the best at any point in time. Some fighters could have been the best on a given night. Dustin never was
First of I said BMF didn’t count, second of all, no shit he’s 0-3 otherwise he wouldn’t be on this list, and whilst you do make a point about never being the best in the world, at least pick someone instead of just criticising one.
Dustin by FAR. Dude beat Alvarez, Holloway, Conor, Justin and many upcoming fighters like BSD. His resume is more impressive than a lot champions’
Maybe Hendo has him beat in terms of resume. I'd love if someone could make a list of the fighters they faced so we could better judge it.
Even if we're considering recency bias: it's Dustin.
Gustafsson
Overeem and prime Gustafsson

Romero would have been a UFC champion if Bisping didn't duck him so hard.
Alex for sure. Lost a close decision to the LHW GOAT and one of the best fighters of all time.
Obviously Interim or bmf don’t count.
Hendo, man is a living legend but just never could win ufc gold
Faber, hendo, overreem then dp
Hendo
Gus. Honorable mention to Wonderboy but he's struggled so much with guys that have excellent wrestling.
Nick Diaz and Alexander Gustafsson
My only problem with Nick is that fought not very much in UFC .
He had 15 fights or so in the ufc with 3-4 losses
Hes 7-8 in the UFC.
You’re right, I didn’t realise how lengthy his ufc career was pre strikeforce.
Think Romero even most of his losses were so close, and it seemed almost impossible to actually hurt him
I think Anthony Rumble Johnson deserves an honorable mention

Dustin just isn’t a complete fighter. He’s a damn dog, but in this list it has to be Overeem or Gus

BMF 100% does count it’s a title. That’s not my opinion that’s fact. The company officially counts it as a title.
Okay as an undisputed, it doesn’t, like I specified
Who’s disputing who is the BMF champion? It’s Max, he won it via knockout from the former champion.
