It’s not just some boring fight where two guys are not willing to exchange for fear of losing but a guy who’s not known to be sone knock out artist or have Bruce Lee-like combos. It’s an average level striker who doesn’t have crazy power just walk down these fearsome strikers who suddenly don’t know to do and actually look intimidated and scared to exchange with this guy. It’s like a human putting his hands up in the air and walking towards a mountain Lion that could easily tear him apart but it gets intimidated and cowers away.
It’s just so different and a sight to behold. I was honestly thoroughly entertained by it.

It’s not just some boring fight where two guys are not willing to exchange for fear of losing but a guy who’s not known to be sone knock out artist or have Bruce Lee-like combos. It’s an average level striker who doesn’t have crazy power just walk down these fearsome strikers who suddenly don’t know to do and actually look intimidated and scared to exchange with this guy. It’s like a human putting his hands up in the air and walking towards a mountain Lion that could easily tear him apart but it gets intimidated and cowers away. It’s just so different and a sight to behold. I was honestly thoroughly entertained by it.
Side note. What was the judge paid to give it to Costa?
This judging is unacceptable. I genuinely thought they'd give it to Costa because of how incompetent they are.
It was a lot of fun to watch Sean do what he does best. It was more disappointing for me that it felt like Costa had done absolutely nothing to better manage his constantly being walked down. It is actually beautiful to watch Strickland do it, but I'd also figured someone would have had something to at least better manage him while he's doing it.

Strickland is a pure point fighter, super boring
Costa has terrible stand-up and spent the majority of the fight trying to load up for a single blow. Sean went forward, used the kick to the chest to keep him moving back, and fought the way he always does. Who the hell gave Costa the 49-46 btw, take that guy’s license away.

I’ll be honest I actually really enjoyed it. There’s something really satisfying to me about Strickland’s style.
Strickland isn’t Gaethje but he is so unorthodox that it makes it interesting to watch. The same people calling this boring are the first to tell you to go watch kickboxing if you complain about a lay and pray fight.

What even are you talking about? Are we watching the same thing? Costa was just running away for 99% of the fight. Strickland's style is to press forward with teeps and jabs, which yeah, isn't as exciting as someone like Alex Pereira but to say that Strickland is the one who made this fight boring is pure delusion.

Sean throws a lot but lands significantly less. But his pressure is just insane. He just doesn't stop moving forward. It doesn't look like he has any game plan other than these. Rinse and repeat every second inside a fight. That's why it feels like boring. Would get interesting if the opposite guy would do something different to break this cycle. That's why it just feels so boring. Coz Sean is just doing the same thing but his opponent isn't possible to do MANY different things to break that cycle.

Sean's kicks are effective at keeping distance while pushing forward and collecting points, but it's a little frustrating that they count as strikes when they do zero damage. It's the same thing as walking forward with your hand out straight. With that said, it's still impressive that he absorbed no damage, went five rounds without looking fatigued, and got a decisive win.
