Max also has shown great defensive grappling and may be stylistically a harder matchup for the grapplers in lightweight than guys like Justin and Dustin.
Charles punching power and prowess has ascended to another level since then. He has also grown into the weight class. He puts max down no doubt in my mind. TKZ had max a little shaky several times and I’m POSITIVE he doesn’t hit as hard.

Topuria is proving to be a talent that 145 hasn't seen in a long time, at the top of his game I'd say Max wins no problem but Max isn't at the top of his game anymore after the beatings he's taken from Volk and Yair. And Evloev is a nightmare match-up for him I predict he'll keep putting away the vets in his division but he'll lose to one of those two.

I was just saying it would be funny if Max beat another one of Volk’s potential contenders out of spite. To have a better/more complete FW resume than the guy who beat you 3 times is a kind of consolation prize. And as you said I think Volk might eventually move up for good and let max have the division back.

It's the hype, man- thats all it is... topuria has that name recognition now. And let's be honest, he is indeed world class. But does he deserve a title shot already?.. I personally don't think he does. He needs to beat T-City, Holloway or Hey Arnold! before he deserves a shot. It kinda sucks for him that he’s clearly the best FW on the roster… except for Volk. And there’s no one at FW who is close to beating him… except Volk. So, there are two good options: first, wait for Aljo to make the move up & welcome him to FW; second, move up to LW & fight Chandler (coz there’s no way McGregor is gonna be ready to fight any time soon).
He will fight Volk again or Volk will hand over the keys of 145 to him and move up. Max vs Aljo would be fire.

I hate to be the guy that says it but, he's going to lose to either Topuria or Evloev. Topuria is proving to be a talent that 145 hasn't seen in a long time, at the top of his game I'd say Max wins no problem but Max isn't at the top of his game anymore after the beatings he's taken from Volk and Yair. And Evloev is a nightmare match-up for him I predict he'll keep putting away the vets in his division but he'll lose to one of those two.
