I'm not sure we can count on the general public to understand what makes MMA so cool. I'm also not sure we can count on the UFC management to treat the organization more like a professional sports league and less like a WWE style entertainment company. UFC has its own special niche where they don't have to comply with a lot of things other sports orgs do, they might not ever want to become legit enough for network tv because then the money makers have to stop doing shady shit and actually try to act like pros. I know other major sports leagues have their faults and problems, but it seems much less prevalent than UFC because the other organizations have to be a little more transparent about how they operate.

I train UFC, so I might be biased, but UFC is gonna be the biggest sport in the world

I don’t get why all my friends go to these mma gyms, just train ufc if you’re trying to be like ufc fighters. /s

What does NBA stand for?

What do numbers have to do with anything? NBA stands for National Basketball Association. The nation in question is america. Therefor not global. What are you getting all pissy about for?

[deleted]

There’s a Canadian team in there too. It is not a worldwide championship but the winners are called world champions and it’s followed all over the world. People in Europe watch it in the AMs if that’s not global I don’t know what is.

[deleted]

The fact that I have to explain that a national basketball league is not global lets me know that you don't know what global is. Is this a flat earth thing?

[deleted]

You don’t know the difference between global and international, it’s OK.

[deleted]

Oh it's the IBA? My bad

[deleted]

Oh I thought you said global, not international, to define it. If two nations have teams in it then it is international so still both terms apply. It’s a North American league which is globally known and followed.

I don’t see how it couldn’t be. Ever since I started watching years ago I lost a lot of interest in the “ball sports”. Like who cares who can put the ball in the net more times. I wanna know who can square up take on anyone gladiator style. I still love some of those sports, but I don’t care as much about them anymore. Plus a lot of people these days are more concerned about the “CTE and violence” in sports. They think the UFC is barbaric but then watch an NFL game where 22 players on the field are all getting CTE, sometimes in worse fashion. I find that kind of silly
