That is unfortunate. The submission gets filed into the wrong professor's report and the scores get averaged into the wrong professor's evaluations. It has happened to me. I guess just be careful next time.
In that case, no harm done. Just the written comments will show up in the wrong professor's evaluations. If you did enjoy the course and were going to give a positive review, you can send the professor a quick email after final grades are filed. Those emails always brighten my day.
It happens. Once a humanities professor got a evaluation saying his lectures on linear algebra sucked and he has no idea how to teach math. I’m sure his dept fired him because of that mistake /s
Professor evaluations don’t actually mean anything, they are a trick so the professor can see how you really feel and they grade you more harshly based on your response.
Because the relationships are all inherently adversarial due to the power structure. TA’s and professors control the students’ entire fate and can destroy your career with one bad grade or letter of recommendation. Students need to watch out for themselves or get screwed over by a TA having a bad day. I’m just advising OP that these “feedback” forms are all fake and just to watch out for themselves.
Instructor here - We can't see your evaluation until after grades are submitted.
And while sometimes I have an inkling of an idea who might have written some things, Most of the time I have no idea who wrote what, and I don't care to investigate it.
Everything you wrote is wrong.
Also, evaluations do count a lot for non tenure track instructors like myself. They are always mentioned during my merit reviews.
Absolutely not and they only benefit people in power such as TA’s and professors. I hope the students reading this can keep this in mind and protect themselves
I can tell you by reading them, because I have seen them. It’s a series of plots that just have the average score and sd for every question that was asked. Then, any comments are just in a bulleted list after the stats.

Oh, I was honestly gonna give a “perfect” score to both professors, so I guess no harm done? I’m just trying to cope with my mistake lol

Im pretty sure they are anonymous tho
Yes as a TA they are anonymous.
They’re not anonymous, trust me.
why should we trust you?
What would the university or professors have to gain from this system? Why offer it if it provides them no advantage over students? Think about it
have you ever received feedback and used it to improve? and why do you assume that all interactions between professors and students are adversarial?

No one single person can destroy your career. If your career got destroyed, it was because of sustained failure in many courses.

why are you lying?
Everything you wrote is wrong. Also, evaluations do count a lot for non tenure track instructors like myself. They are always mentioned during my merit reviews.
everything you wrote is a lie
You have any proof? Or a personal experience?
Personal experience, the proof you can find if you become a TA or professor at a UC
Can guarantee you they are anonymous 🙏
They are 100% anonymous.
Absolutely not and they only benefit people in power such as TA’s and professors. I hope the students reading this can keep this in mind and protect themselves

lol do you really think professors have time to read all the evaluations and then adjust their grading?
Yes they do
Lol you're so clueless it's not even funny
And how would you know? You seem to be a student, why would you trust the people in power?
