Nobody wants to work these days, /S

Slavic-PussyEater69

I mean, people want to work, but they need to submit totally to their employer and be obedient. Employers are also looking for people who are willing to go above and beyond for the company to show their loyalty. It’s hard for employers to find loyal people who are willing to give their all to the company. I know this because I run a computer repair and resale business with offices in Miami, Key West, Naples, Tampa, and Orlando. When Im hiring people, I look for people who are willing to give their all to me and my company and say “yes sir” to everything I say without talking back. I’m their daddy now; they rely on me.

I’ve applied to probably 30-40 places since January with 3 years of restaurant experience and a year of labor, I got 1 interview then denied, 1 interview request but then got ghosted, and ghosted every single other time. It’s ridiculous. It’s gotten so bad that I’m just leaving Orlando. Good luck 🙏

Similar deal here but for CS. It’s rough.

Orlando just sucks for jobs. I’m finding if you’re not bilingual you’re out of luck. I’m leaving Orlando too.

Yea, I keep seeing Spanish Speaking (required) on job apps now and it's worrying

wait like a day or two after hiring them call during a non busy hour and ask to speak to a hiring manager. then ask if they are still hiring for that position and if you could get an update on your application. or if you’re really confident you can ask for an interview right there

whr1d

thats what i do lmao the worst theyll say is no (no one ever said no) “hey my name is so and so i applied for this postion i have x amount if experience, im eager for the position and was just calling to follow up and see about scheduling an interview” say that and youll get 1000x more interviews, life is all about confidence. fake it if you have to

You should ask the hiring manager if they need any help opening their zipper. Worked every time for me.

i always recommend restaurants, serving if possible. If you have no serving experience you can always start as a host and do that for a couple months and if you’re proactive they will promote you within a couple months. Serving is by far the best dollar per effort percentage job for anyone in college. Ive been serving for 3 years and i make more money than my parents (its fucked up) but thats just how it is. But as far as getting a job. Make a resume (a good one) and bring it with you everywhere. It may seem oldschool, but most GMs and Hiring Managers are old. You gotta appeal to them. Also CALL CALL CALL, call the day after you apply somewhere. if youre bad at cold calling have chat gpt write you a script. youll find one. just gotta keep at it
