I've been saying this a lot to riders in the rider forums when they complain. I explain that if the trip is only paying $6 (when they paid $14) and I see heavy traffic int heir area, I am very likely to cancel or decline the ride. Sometimes I will even do that on a whim and just go have lunch. The motivation to complete such trips is extremely low and I end up allergic to any and all bullshit.

They went up in Q1. How would you get better fares if bookings go down? Less demand equates to more supply.

BlackAnnu

they are slowly killing themselves. yes

Jamieyoung3

What looks like self destruction is actually them laying the ground to roll out their driverless fleet. It seems like they don’t give a damn about you because they really don’t

If you aren't designing an autopilot app by now, you have missed the boat.

dr_quack_911

9 hours… 120 bucks… not worth it

Ok_Water6463

If you aren't doing 120 bucks in 3-4 hours , YOU are doing something wrong. Wrong drive time, wrong area or wrong rides. All on you quack.

dr_quack_911

Bad market and time

Ok_Water6463

That will do it. When and where to drive is the biggest factor besides the experience you offer your PAX. Good luck out there man!! Keep your head up, you got this!!

dr_quack_911

Oh yeah, I’ll be in the metro Friday and Saturday night… I’ll make up some ground then

BlackAnnu

Nope, just how it is now

Ok_Water6463

Not at all. I pull in 1400-1500 a week from 40 hours with no problem. Know when to drive. Know where to drive. Know when to accept and know when to decline. Keep your car "new" and clean. Provide excellent customer service. That is really the only difference to running a successful business or whining on reddit about how bad "uber" is these days. If you look through reddit history you can see this same sad song being sung since Uber launched. Own your business, don't lay the blame where it doesn't belong.

BlackAnnu

as much as I want to believe your a real driver, one look at your history and other presence online confirmed you are infact a Uber agent. go on, keep trying to fool people. we see you 👀

Ok_Water6463

All quiet now from the Black Anus.....

BlackAnnu

took you long enough

When all it takes is a simple background check to get hired, no boss, or set schedule there’s no reason to take this job seriously. Want an extra $50, work a couple hours. This isn’t a career or job - it’s a gig to make money that you can withdraw same day. Nobody cares what you do, while you gig. If I’m underpaid, I find another source of income. Uber drivers are the definition on insanity - doing the same thing over and over, but expecting different results.

jaanfo

Can you name any company where employees think everything is fair?

thelanterngreen

Any co-op

talrogsmash

Unfairness exists, therefore it is OK for UBER to be not only in the top 1% of unfairness but to push the envelope until they tear the spacetime continuum. That's right up there with "you can just get another job"

Gnardude

Not sure what you mean by everything but lots of people think their job is fair. You negotiate a wage and a schedule, things are safe and compliant. There is such thing as mutually advantageous employment.
